What amazing ants! In fact, they might be smarter than we think. A recent study found that ants can tell different kinds of injuries (损伤) and know how to help their friends. Sometimes, they even cut off another ant’s leg to save its life!
When an animal gets a cut, it can become very sick or even die. That’s why many animals have special ways to clean and protect their cuts. Most ants can make a special liquid (液体) from their bodies to fight germs (细菌). But one kind of ant, the Florida carpenter ant, has lost this ability over time.
So how do these ants help their injured friends? If the injury is on the upper leg, they will clean the cut and then bite off (咬掉) the leg. This takes about 40 minutes. If the injury is on the lower leg, they only clean the cut.
This help really works! About 90% of ants that have a leg bitten off can still live. If the cut is only cleaned, about 75% can live. But if they don’t do anything at all with the cuts, fewer than 40% can live.
It’s clear that ants not only care for each other, they also know how to give the right kind of help!
26. What does “its” refer to (指代) in Paragraph 1?
A. A normal ant’s. B. An injured ant’s. C. An amazing ant’s.
27. Why do many animals have special ways to clean and protect their cuts?
A. In order not to get sick or die.
B. In order to show they’re strong.
C. In order to make their cuts look better.
28. What will Florida carpenter ants do if the injury is on the upper leg?
A. They will only clean the cut.
B. They will forget about the injury.
C. They will clean the cut and then bite off the leg.
29. How does the writer present the idea that “ants” help their injured friends really works ?
A. By giving numbers. B. By asking questions. C. By using sayings.
30. What is the main idea of the passage?
A. Florida carpenter ants are the smartest ants.
B. Animals have different ways to protect themselves.
C. Ants are amazing and can help each other in different ways.

Many people like going on holiday. It’s a good chance to relax, visit new places and see new things. But while planning a trip, you have to decide whether you want to travel with family or friends, or just alone.
Travelling with family can be very cheap or even free, if parents pay. However, there may be many arguments. One friend told me that both she and her sister were in tears after arguing on holiday. In my own family, Dad always wants to go to a museum. Mum would like to stay in the hotel. My sister likes to buy clothes. As for me, the coffee shop is a great place.
Travelling with friends would be fun. When you are travelling with friends, you do more different things than you do with family. And you can become closer to each other. But money always plays an important role. It is normal for you to have different budgets. Besides, there are also different opinions while you’re planning where to stay and what to eat.
There is another choice: Travelling alone. It has advantages over travelling with others. For example, you don’t need to think about others’budget. You can choose what you want to do, and it’s easier for you to make new friends. Of course, it isn’t always good. Sometimes, you may feel lonely and bored. And, when you want to go to the toilet at the bus station or airport, there is nobody to look after your things.
Go on holiday
With family
It’s very cheap or even free.
You may ____46____ a lot.
With your friends
It’s interesting and you can improve your ____47____ with friends
You may think about:

* Where to stay;
* What to eat.
____49____

* Don’t think about others’ budget.
* You can make ____50____ by yourself.
* You can make more new friends.
It also causes some problems:
* You may feel lonely and bored.
* Nobody helps you look after your things.

What will the future classroom be like? To start with, facing the blackboard will be a thing of the past. Students will take classes by looking at their touch-screen desks. The walls of the classroom will also be filled with real-time screens for students and teachers to show any information they want.
In the coming years, another technology called metaverse (元宇宙) will make learning more exciting. Metaverse is a 3D virtual (虚拟的) world where people can do things like going to the mall, attending a concert or buying virtual clothing. The only difference is that they’ll be doing all these in a virtual environment. Teachers and students can get into a virtual classroom, while in real life, they may be sitting on the sofa at home. The experience will be like being in a real classroom. Students can also visit historical places, see the real geography of the planet, take tours through international universities or research labs, and much more.
Also, the classroom of the future holds several learning styles for students. They’ll feel free to learn things in the way they want. This includes learning through video lectures. Everyone moves at their own pace (节奏), with teachers guiding them along the way. This practice will help students learn faster and have better results.
