2 Have students read the unit overview on page 78 and answer the following  question.

3 Have students look at the six pictures in Part A on page 79 and answer the following question.

What are the six pictures about?

4 Have students finish Part A on page 79.

Then have students answer the following questions.

(1)What other types of weather do you know?

(2)What is the weather like in spring/ summer /autumn /winter in your hometown and what can you do in each season?

5 Have students listen to Amy and Simon's conversation in Part B on page 79 and answer the following questions.

(1)What is Simon's favourite season?Why?

(2)What is Amy's favourite season?Why?

6 Have students listen to the recording of the conversation and read along,and then read aloud in different roles.

7 Have students work in pairs and talk about their favourite seasons using the conversation in Part B on page 79 as a model.

8 Have students finish Part Con page 79.

1 Have students answer the two questions on page 80 before reading the poem.

2 Have students read the title on page 80 and look at the pictures on pages 80-81 and answer the following questions.

(2)What is the poem about?

3 Have students skim the poem and answer the following questions.

(1)How many stanzas are there in the poem?

(2)What seasons are the stanzas about?

4 Have students finish Part B on page 82.

5 Have students scan the poem and finish the table.

6 Have students answer the following question. How might the poet feel in each season?Why?

7 Have students read the poem aloud and finish Part A on page 82.

8 Have students appreciate the language of the poem and answer the following  question.

Why does the poet use“forget to grow”in stanza 1?

Then have students read the poem again and find other sentences using personification.

9 Have students appreciate the structure of the poem and answer the following  question.

In the last stanza,why does the poet mention winter again?
