Another example of China’s new energy development is the new energy cars. Now more and more people in China are using electric cars. Electric cars do not use gas. They run on electricity. This means they do not cause air pollution. And they are very quiet.
China plans to use even more new energy in the future. The government wants to make the air cleaner and protect the environment well. New energy is the key to a better future.

考查have been to、have been in与have gone to的区别。has been to去过某地,已经回来了;has gone to去了某地,还没有回来;has been in一直在某地,常与表示时间段的状语连用。根据“Where is Mr. Green?” 故选A。

can’t不可能;mustn’t禁止;needn’t不需要。根据“We have walked along it for an hour but we are still in the forest.” 故选A。

Song was born into a farmer’s family in Caoxian, Shandong in August 1990. He joined the army in 2008 and learned to fly.
In the first months at the flight (飞行) school, Song had poor physical test results because he was malnourished (营养不良的). He also felt sick during his first flights in trainer planes.
Knowing clearly that he had a lot to improve, Song decided to train harder. He was always on the exercise field and asked for more training. His hard work paid off. He got the highest grade in the flight test, and finally, he became a first-grade pilot.
In 2018, Song heard the PLA Astronaut Division (中国人民解放军航天员大队) was looking for new members and he decided to be a part of it. He had always wanted to fly in space since watching China’s first manned spaceflight on TV in 2003. He was 13 at that time.

A new study found that 52 of the most common species (物种) of birds in the USA have shrunk in size in the past 38 years. Scientists say this is because of climate change.
This shrinking in size follows a rule called Bergmann’s rule. The rule says that animals in cooler areas are usually larger than those in warmer areas. Larger animals are able to keep warmer. That is the reason why animals in cold areas are larger.
As global warming affects the planet, animals now have to deal with rising temperatures. Some of them shrink in size. Scientists studied over 70,000 species of birds. They discovered that some birds in North America were shrinking in size. Studies on deer, insects and fish also show similar facts.
What does this mean for these species? Global warming is happening faster than ever before. So, animals may not be able to change fast enough. And when species shrink, other things get different. When an animal’s body shrinks, it may not be able to give birth to as many young as before—this may affect the size of a species’ population.
It is possible that scientists haven’t yet completely understood how changes in size may affect the ability of animals to be alive. This shows the bigger problem with climate change—we aren’t always able to predict what will happen when the earth’s temperatures keep rising. And that is the real danger.
51. The underlined word “shrunk” in the first paragraph means ________.
A. become smaller B. disappeared
C. increased D. grown
52. Why are animals in cold areas larger than those in warmer areas?
A. Because they sleep longer. B. Because they eat more food.
C. Because they need to be faster. D. Because they can keep warmer.
53. If a species’ body gets smaller, ________.
A. the earth may become warmer
B. the species may change faster quickly
C. there will be more pollution on the earth
D. the species’ population may become smaller
54. The writer thinks the biggest problem with global warming is ________.
A. the earth’s temperatures keep rising
B. humans can’t predict what will happen
C. there will be fewer species on the earth
D. there will be more pollution on the earth
55. What can be the best title for this passage?
A. Why the Earth’s Temperature Is Rising
B. How Global Warming Affect the Planet
C. How Animals on the Earth Are Changing
D. Why Some Animals Are Getting Smaller
A 52. D 53. D 54. B 55. D
根据第一段“A new study found that 52 of the most common species of birds in the USA have shrunk in size in the past 38 years. Scientists say this is because of climate change.”
根据第二段“The rule says that animals in cooler areas are usually larger than those in warmer areas. Larger animals are able to keep warmer. That is the reason why animals in cold areas are larger.”
根据第四段“When an animal’s body shrinks, it may not be able to give birth to as many young as before—this may affect the size of a species’ population.”
根据最后一段中“This shows the bigger problem with climate change—we aren’t always able to predict what will happen when the earth’s temperatures keep rising.”
C

People have used leather for a very long time. Long ago, early humans made clothes from leather. Today, we still use leather to make shoes, bags, belts, and even car seats. Leather comes from animal skin, usually cows.
But now, some people think we don’t need real leather anymore. ___66___ Some of these are made from plastic, which can hurt the Earth. Others are made from plants, like mushrooms, pineapples, and cacti. Some scientists can even grow leather in a lab using tiny cells from animals. ___67___ The following are the different viewpoints of two students.
Kathy: ___68___
Many people think it’s unacceptable to wear a fur coat, so why is it OK to wear a leather one? It’s still made from an animal. Most of the leather we use is from cows, and cows give off gases that make the Earth hotter. Making leather also makes the air and water dirty. We don’t need to use leather anymore. ___69___ We can use these instead.
John: Leather is still a good choice.
Many people around the world eat meat, so it makes sense to use those animal skins for leather instead of letting them go to waste. ___70___ Fake leather(人造皮革) is often made from plastic, which does not break down and can make pollution worse. It also doesn’t last as long, so we may need to buy new things more often.
A. We should stop using leather.
B. Shall we stop using leather?
C. Leather is strong, lasts a long time, and breaks down naturally when we throw it away.
D. They want to use other materials that look and feel like leather but are not from animals.
E. There are plant-based leathers that look nice, cost less, and don’t hurt animals.
D 67. B 68. A 69. E 70. C

On October 30, 2024, China’s Shenzhou-19 spaceship carried three astronauts to our space station. In the group, Song Lingdong and Wang Haoze are the first Chinese “post-90s” astronauts to go into space. Lots of people got to know them because of this.
Song was born into a farmer’s family in Caoxian, Shandong in August 1990. He joined the army in 2008 and learned to fly.

There are many introverts in the world. Introverts are people who are more interested in their own thoughts and feelings than in spending time with other people. Many people think that it is hard for introverts to find jobs. However, most people, including introverts, can find suitable jobs according to their personalities (性格).
