2026-2027学年高一英语上学期第一次月考模拟试题 第二部分 阅读(共两节,满分50分) 第一节阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。 A ①“Long distance never separates close friends.” It’s easier to make new friends rather than saying goodbye to old ones. ②When I was still studying in China, my school held a singing competition. I entered it because I really loved singing. I sang with a girl named Jenny. She’s one of my best friends. ③Unluckily, I was nervous and I forgot the lyrics for a moment while we sang. I was standing on stage, looking pale on the face. We lost the competition. I felt terribly sorry, but Jenny tried to comfort me by saying “There will be another chance.” ④After about a week, our school’s art festival began. I decided to enter it. The first person I thought of to join me was Jenny, although I wasn’t sure if she would want to. But while I was asking other people to join me, she said she would join as well. We decided to sing the song See You Again at the festival because I would leave for UK after I finished the performance. We prepared for it for a long time. ⑤Finally, the day of the festival arrived. As I walked into class, people started clapping for me. Someone had written “Sally, Come On!” on the blackboard. My classmates wrote cards for me. After I completed my performance, everyone cheered for me. ⑥It was a really unforgettable and touching afternoon. I want to thank Jenny, who didn’t give up on me when I felt down. I want to thank my friends for helping me, and I really want to thank all of my classmates who were with me in my two middle school years as well. 21. What’s the structure of the passage? A. B. C. D. 22. The right order of the following events is ________. ①studied in China ②completed my performance in the art festival ③decided to enter our school’s art festival ④prepared for See You Again ⑤forgot the lyrics A. ①③④②⑤ B. ⑤①④③② C. ①⑤③④② D. ⑤①②④③ 23. The purpose of this passage is mainly to ________. A. talk about the writer’s friends B. describe a singing competition C. tell us about the writer’s life in China D. show thanks to the writer’s friends and classmates B At age 15, Zhao Yicheng has taken the speed climbing community by storm following his two stunning climbs of 4.68 and 4.65 seconds — unofficially faster than US athlete Sam Watson’s 4.74-second world record set at last year’s Paris Olympics. Zhao’s record-breaking moment happened during a trial event for China’s national team on March 26. Since the event was not approved by the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC), his achievement was not officially recognized. Nevertheless, evidently Zhao has emerged as one of China’s most promising speed climbers. Born in 2009 in Suzhou, Zhao’s journey with speed climbing began at age 5, when a friend dragged him to a climbing gym. What started as a weekly hobby soon occupied his weekends. By 9, he had already won medals at multiple youth events. After winning the 2023 IFSC Youth World Championships in Seoul, South Korea, Zhao had to choose between school and sports. At that time, he was a top middle school student, but he chose to dedicate four to eight years to speed climbing to see how far he could go. In September 2023, Zhao joined the Shanghai speed climbing team. During the 2023-24 winter camp, his times improved from 5.4 seconds to 4.99, reaching the “sub-five” milestone. He kept that strong momentum in the 2024 season, clocking 4.93 seconds to win the national speed climbing championships in September. Zhao credits his quick progress to scientific training and active thinking. After his first winter training camp with the national team, he emerged transformed. “The team’s environment pushed me to train smarter. The nation’s best climbers are here, and every session demands your absolute best,” said Zhao. Between training sessions, Zhao reads history books, sci-fi stories, and a biography of basketball legend Kobe Bryant. When he can’t sleep, he watches climbing videos to study others’ movements. “Climbing isn’t just physical. It’s a mental game. Without active thinking, you can’t reach the top level in any sport,” Zhao said. For now, age rules stop Zhao from competing in international events, but he sees the delay as an opportunity to improve his performance. “Next year, I’ll compete internationally in peak form to strive for honor for my country,” he told Xinhua. 24. Why were Zhao Yicheng’s record-breaking climbs not officially recognized? A. Because the event was not admitted by the IFSC. B. Because he was too young to qualify for world records. C. Because his times were slower than Sam Watson’s record. D. Because he competed in a national championship instead. 25. What can be inferred about Zhao’s decision to focus on speed climbing over school? A. He wanted to break records immediately. B. He prioritized his passion despite being a top student. C. His family pressured him to pursue sports professionally. D. He struggled academically and needed an alternative path. 26. What contribute to Zhao’s rapid improvement in speed climbing? A. Natural talent and early training. B. Support from his school teachers. C. International competition experience. D. Scientific training and mental discipline. 27. Which of the following can best describe Zhao Yicheng? A. committed and ambitious B. hardworking and creative C. talented and self-disciplined D. courageous and strong-willed C What kind of people can become scientists? When a group of researchers posed that question to ninth-and 10th-graders, almost every student gave such responses as “People who work hard” or “Anyone who seems interested in the field of science.” Many of these same students struggled to imagine themselves as scientists, citing concerns such as “I’m not good at science” and “Even if I work hard, I will not do well.” It’s easy for them to see a scientist’s work as arising from an inborn talent. But for high school students, learning more about some struggles of scientists can help students feel more motivated to learn science. Researchers at Teachers College, Columbia University and the University of Washington designed an intervention to change students’ beliefs that scientific achievement reflects ability rather than effort by exposing students to stories of how accomplished scientists struggled and overcame challenges in their scientific efforts. During the study, the students read one of three types of stories about Albert Einstein, Marie Curie and Michael Faraday. Intellectual struggle stories: stories about how scientists “struggled intellectually,” such as making mistakes while tackling a scientific problem and learning from them. Life struggle stories: stories about how scientists struggled in their personal lives, such as not giving up in the face of poverty or lack of family support. Achievement stories: stories about how scientists made great discoveries, without any discussion of coexisting challenges. Researchers found that students who heard either type of “struggle stories” improved their science performance post-intervention, relative to students in the control group. The effect was especially pronounced for lower performing students, for whom exposure to struggling stories led to significantly better science-class performance than low-performing students who read achievement stories. In addition, students who read struggle stories reported feeling more personally connected to the scientists. By identifying a scientist’s struggles and introducing the growth mindset he or she applied to accomplish great works, the students were able to empathize (共情) with the scientists during their own struggles. 28. Why do students fail to imagine themselves as scientists? A. They lack interest in science. B. They don’t possess inborn talent. C. They are short of confidence. D. They have no ability to study science. 29. What’s the purpose of the intervention? A. To introduce some inspirational stories to students. B. To expose students to scientists’ great achievements. C. To ensure students will become scientists in the future. D. To clear students’ misunderstandings of scientific work. 30. The underlined word “pronounced” in the last paragraph is closest in meaning to ________. A. hidden B. invisible C. doubtful D. obvious 31. What can we learn from the research? A. Science ability has nothing to do with efforts. B. Students are more motivated by achievement stories. C. Scientists’ struggle stories can influence readers’ beliefs. D. Low-performing students tend to feel connected to scientists. D Travel is one of the most exciting experiences a human being can have. Imagine how Italian traveler Marco Polo must have felt when he found himself in China, seeing a way of life quite different from anything he’d seen before. And how wonderful must it have been to Zhang Qian when he returned to China from his journey through Central Asia and West Asia? His brain must have been filled with everything he’d seen and heard, leading to the founding of the Silk Road. Some people have traveled all over the world, and travel is a way of life to them. But among the travels to a specific destination, the first is more likely to be the best. Imagine a person who has been expecting his first travel to the United States. Of course, he may have seen all the famous sights a thousand times on TV. But none of that would compare to the excitement of looking out of the cabin window as the plane lands, watching the cities and streets of the real America come into view. Although travel is often just for recreation (消遣), it’s also educational. We may not know that we are getting an education, but we still are. We’re learning every day: new words, new people, and new ways of life. But this learning takes place in the school of the world, not just the classroom. One of the lessons we learn is undoubtedly a moral (道德上的) one. As we get to know foreign places, we come to understand that there are many different ways to live, and that the way we live isn’t necessarily the best way. Just like British politician Benjamin Disraeli said, “Travel teaches toleration.” 32. Why does the author mention Marco Polo and Zhang Qian? A. To explain how the Silk Road was founded. B. To present travel as an amazing experience. C. To show how the way people travel has changed. D. To describe important cultural exchanges in history. 33. What does the author want to convey in Paragraph 3? A. The best trip is often the first in-person experience. B. One’s first trip is usually the most challenging. C. There is always much to learn on one’s first trip. D. People usually make better preparations for their first trips. 34. What can we know from the last two paragraphs? A. Traveling should be included in formal education. B. Traveling improves people’s confidence in their lifestyle. C.There is more to learn in classroom than from adventures. D. A foreign journey may raise people’s cultural understanding. 35. According to the passage, what is one of the key moral lessons that travel teaches? A. The importance of staying at home. B. The value of exploring new places. C. The necessity of being tolerant of different cultures. D. The idea that one’s own culture is better than others. 第二节:七选五 根据短文内容,从A-G中选出相应的陈述与之匹配,完成第1-5题。选项中有2项是多余选项。 At some point in our lives, we all need to influence and encourage others, including our team at work, friends and family, or club members.
