On May 24, 2026, a Long March 2F rocket was sent into the night sky from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch (卫星发射) Center in the Gobi Desert. On board was the Shenzhou-23 spacecraft, carrying three astronauts to China’s Tiangong space station. The launch was a complete success, marking another big step in China’s space exploration journey.
The rocket used for this mission (任务) is no ordinary one. Called Long March 2F, it is China’s first rocket designed specifically to carry astronauts. This mission itself is also special. Why? One of the astronauts will stay on the space station for a whole year — the longest space mission ever for a Chinese astronaut. This will help scientists learn the human body’s reactions (反应) during long stays in space. Such knowledge is very important for future plans.
After reaching the space station, the Shenzhou-23 astronauts will take over from the Shenzhou-21 astronauts. Their tasks include performing spacewalks, doing scientific experiments, and keeping the space station in good working order.
The launch of Shenzhou-23 is another proud moment for China. It shows how far the country has come in space exploration-from the first satellite in 1970 to building its own space station, and now preparing to land on the moon. Each new mission builds on the success of those before it, taking China one step closer to the stars.
24. What does the launch of Long March 2F rocket mark?
A. A new mission of Chinese astronauts.
B. A huge success of landing on the moon.
C. A big step of China’s space exploration.
25. How does the writer show us the mission is special?
A. By telling stories. B. By giving explanations. C. By making comparisons.
26. What does paragraph 3 mainly talk about?
A. The astronauts’ body reactions in space.
B. The astronauts’ tasks in the space station.
C. The astronauts’ effects on Chinese scientists.
27. What is the correct structure of the text?
A. B. C.

In all of our lives, we receive kind help from others. And on our way to growing up, we should always remember to give a helping hand too. Studies show that helping others can make people’s lives better, healthier, and more meaningful. How can you help others? 28
Find what you love. Helping others is not how much you give. 29 You might love about one thing more than others, and that’s enough. Help with the thing that you love.
30 The gift of time is often more valuable than the gift of money. We all have time, and we can use some of it to help others, whether it’s a few hours a day, or a few days a year.
Be active. Think actively about what you can do and find the things that best match your values to make a real difference.
Don’t forget about yourself. While it’s good to give help to others, don’t forget to look after your own feelings and needs. You’re important too! 31
There’s a saying that goes, “Roses given, fragrance in hand.” 32 Remember: kindness is a two-way street — the more you give, the more happiness you will find.
A. Give your time.
B. Here are some tips for you.
C. Giving help makes you feel great.
D. You should care about others’ feelings.
E. It’s how much love you put into giving.
F. Sometimes you need to think about yourself.

The Awakening of Insects (惊蛰) is the third solar term of the year. As its name shows, the earth begins to come back to life. And it is the key time for spring farming.
Spring thunder usually happens after the Awakening of Insects. An old Chinese saying goes, “If the first spring thunder comes before the Awakening of Insects, the year will have a lot of bad weather.” So the Awakening of Insects is an important time to know how the weather of the year will be.
During this period, most parts of China experience the quickest rise in temperatures. And there is an increase in sunshine, which provides good natural conditions for farming. Old Chinese sayings, such as “once the Awakening of Insects comes, spring farming never rests.” tell the importance of this solar term to farmers.
There are some customs in the Awakening of Insects. An old custom “Ji Bai Hu” is practised in some places on this day. Bai Hu, or white tiger, means bad luck. People draw a white tiger on paper, and then smear (涂抹) its mouth with meat. This means the tiger is full so that it will not hurt people or bring bad luck.
Eating pears around the Awakening of Insects is also a widely-practised custom in China. As the weather gets warmer and the air becomes dry, people often feel their mouths are uncomfortable. And it’s easy to get colds. A pear is sweet, juicy and is good for one’s health.
Another custom is fishing. Fishing is relaxing, especially for people living in the city. Driving to the countryside, fishing in a lake, bathing in the sunlight, enjoying the singing birds and flowers make for a perfect weekend in spring.
