Every time I see that spacecraft-shaped kite hanging on my wall, Grandpa Sun’s voice rises in my ears and can still touch my heart after so long.
When I was a child, I often went to my great-grandmother’s house in the countryside. Her neighbour was a craftsman (手艺人) who was good at making kites, and I called him “Grandpa Sun”. I loved watching him make kites, and he always showed me his works with pleasure. All of the kites he made were vivid (逼真的), some like birds flapping (摆动) their wings against the wind, others like fish wagging (扇动) their heads and tails in the air. Seeing my admiring look seemed to bring him the greatest satisfaction.
Once, I asked him, “Grandpa, can you teach me how to make kites?” His eyes lit up at once, shining with the brightness that I had never seen before. He looked at me and said, “There are fewer and fewer people making kites with hands because everything can be produced with machines! So, little boy, since you are going back to the city in a few days, let’s just enjoy flying a kite.”
The kite we made together flew in the blue sky for a while before falling to the ground as the wind slowly died down.
Just as I was about to leave, he gifted me a spacecraft-shaped kite. “Take this, and don’t forget my kite. May you fly as high as this kite.” There were two handwritten characters on the kite: Shenzhou, just like the famous rocket. I will never forget Grandpa Sun, nor his wonderful gift.

A. Because he wanted to sell more kites. B. Because few people still made kites with hands.
C. Because he thought the writer was very smart. D. Because he didn’t like machine-made kites.
31. What does the writer mainly want to express in this text?
A. His love for kite flying. B. His interest in spacecraft.
C. His dislike for machine-made products. D. His memory of a meaningful childhood experience.

There have been many great inventions that changed the way we live. The first great invention was one that is still very important today — the wheel. This made it easier to carry heavy things.
Then in the early 1800s, the world started to change. There was little unknown land left in the world. People didn’t have to explore (探测) much anymore. They began to work to make life better.
In the second half of the 19th century, many great inventions were made. Among them were the camera, the light and the radio. These all became a big part of our life today.
The first part of the 20th century saw more great inventions: the helicopter in 1907, movies with sound in 1923, the computer in 1927, and jet planes in 1930. This was also a time when a new material was first made. Nylon (尼龙) came in 1937. It changed the kind of clothes people wear.
By this time most people had a very good life, and man had a strong wish to explore again. The world was known to man but the stars were not. Man began looking for ways to go into space. Russia made the first step. Then the United States took a step. Since then other countries, including China and Japan, have made their steps into space.
New inventions will someday allow us to do things we have never yet dreamed of.
32. What made it easier to carry heavy things?
A. Wheels. B. Helicopters. C. Computers. D. Cars.
33. Which of the following came out nearly at the same time as jet planes?
A. Radio. B. Camera. C. Nylon. D. Light.
34. What can we learn from the text?
A. The computer was invented in 1907.
B. The camera is still a big part of our life today.
C. The US is the first country that went into space.
D. People began to explore the unknown land in 1800.
35. Which is the text mainly about?
A. Why inventions are necessary.
B. What invention is the most useful.
C. How inventions influenced people’s life.
D. Which country has the most inventions.

People often ask me for suggestions about how to learn English. As for it, everyone is different. I’ll share some of my experience. I once took a school-year English course at Wuhan University, but I mostly learned English on my own.
One thing I can tell you is that once you’ve started learning, you should try to think in English as much as you can. If you see something when you’re riding your bike or walking down the street, just think about “How would I say it in English?” At first, it might be with simple words or phrases, but later you should think about longer phrases and sentences. Now I’m in America, and for most of the time, I would think in English and speak it directly. It’s amazing how much this helps.
For several years after I started learning, I was often afraid of talking with others in English because I didn’t want to make mistakes. Finally I got it over. And while traveling in America, I’d try to hang out with friends who couldn’t speak Chinese, so that I’d have no option but to speak English. And I also decided that if I said something stupid and other people laughed at me, then so be it. After that, my English started improving much more quickly.
Besides, it may be a good idea to ask your American friends to look at the way you’re writing, and give you some suggestions for improvement.
36. How long did the writer learn English at Wuhan University?
A. About three months. B. About a year.
C. About a term. D. About two years.
37. What is a good way to improve your English according to the writer?
A. Thinking in English. B. Learning English grammar.
C. Watching English films. D. Reading English books.
38. Where is the writer now?
A. In China. B. In England. C. In Germany. D. In America.
39. What does the underlined word “option” mean in Paragraph 3?
A. Idea. B. Decision. C. Choice. D. Chance.
40. Which can be the best title for the text?
A. The Importance of English
B. My Experience in Learning English
C. My English Grades in University
D. The Secrets of Memorizing English Words
第二节 阅读表达(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
Change is a natural part of our lives. It happens all around us, whether we like it or not. Personally, I believe that change is a good thing. It can help us grow, learn, and become better versions (版本) of ourselves. However, I must say that change can be challenging and even scary at times.
When we are used to a certain way of living or thinking, a fixed pattern (固定模式) sets in. We have already been used to some fixed patterns. These patterns seem to be comfortable. So this makes it difficult to change. This is called path dependence (路径依赖), and it can hold us back from reaching our full abilities. Laziness and fear often lead to this cycle. For example, I used to put off my tasks until the last moment. Whenever I faced a challenge, my first idea was to avoid it. As a result, I did not make much progress. Then, I changed the way I thought about challenges. I thought that was a wise decision. Finally, I see improvements in my life and I will continue my efforts in the future. So we should be brave to face new things and make changes in our lives. Maybe we’ll be the best version of ourselves.
Our worth should not be decided by external evaluations (外部的评价) but by how we see ourselves. Life should be unusual. Our lives should be colourful like summer flowers, and young hearts need to be brave enough to accept changes. Do not fear making decisions about change, for each choice can lead us towards growth.

29. What did the writer often do when he was a child?
A. He often flew kites in the city. B. He often bought kites from Grandpa Sun.
C. He often visited his great-grandmother’s house. D. He often made kites with his great-grandmother.
30. Why did Grandpa Sun’s eyes light up when the writer wanted to learn kite-making?

33. Which of the following came out nearly at the same time as jet planes?

A. The computer was invented in 1907.
B. The camera is still a big part of our life today.

D. People began to explore the unknown land in 1800.

【答案】36. B 37. A 38. D 39. C 40. B

41. How can change help us?

42. What often leads to path dependence?
___________________________________________________________________________________________

【答案】41. It can help us grow, learn, and become better versions of ourselves.

47. You used to be short and thin./You were short and thin in the past.
48. You used to have short hair.
49. What kind of food do you like best?
50. What about you?/How about you?
How?”,以及后续两人围绕“变化”展开的交流,此处Kate是在感慨Tom变化很大,用“You’ve changed a lot.”引出后续对具体变化的讨论,符合久别重逢的对话逻辑。
【47题详解】
根据后文“But now you’re tall and a little heavy.”的转折对比,此处是描述Tom过去的外形特点,和现在的“又高又有点壮”形成反差,用“You used to be short and thin./You were short and thin in the past.”衔接,自然解释了Kate没第一时间认出Tom的原因。
【48题详解】
结合后文“But now you have long hair.”的转折,此处是描述Kate过去的发型,和现在的长发形成对比,用“You used to have short hair.”衔接,对应前文“两人都有变化”的话题,符合对话推进逻辑。
【49题详解】
根据后文Tom的回答“I like hot food best.”,可知此处Kate是在询问Tom最喜欢什么类型的食物,用“What kind of food do you like best?”衔接,自然引出后续关于饮食喜好的交流。
【50题详解】
Tom说完自己最喜欢辣的食物后,后文Kate回应“Me, too.”,说明此处是Tom反过来询问Kate的饮食偏好,用“What about you?/How about you?”衔接,实现两人喜好的互动交流,为后续敲定餐厅做铺垫。
