Food is very important to everyone. My parents always tell my brother Paul and me that we must never 1 any food in our daily life. This morning, my mum bought some 2 vegetables from the supermarket. I helped 3 wash them carefully in the kitchen, and then I noticed a big bowl of beans on the counter. Mum told me that she would make a 4 kind of food — bean rice, a dish we had never tried before.
Later, we had lunch together in the living room. It was the 5 time for us to eat bean rice. Paul quickly finished a 6 bowl of it. Different from Paul, 7 was a small bowl. I didn’t want to eat the food at all and 8 to throw it away.
But mum soon found out 9 I was thinking about. She looked at me with a serious look and said, “Before you throw away that food, stop and think about other children around the world. They might be the same age as you, or even younger, 10 they have no food to eat at all.”
Mum’s words hit me hard. I 11 realized that saving food is not just a slogan we shout at school, but a small rule we must 12 at every meal. My face turned red with shame. I apologized (道歉) to mum for being so wasteful, and 13 to eat up all my food. Then I picked up my bowl, ate every single grain of the bean rice, and even found it tasted much better than I thought.
Mum gave me a big 14 and said, “I’m so proud of you.” That day, I learned a precious lesson about gratitude. From then on, I never waste food again, 15 I know every grain of rice is a gift we should always cherish.

I enjoy reading books in my free time because it can make me wise and relaxed. Last weekend I read a story about Su Dongpo. Now I want to share the story with you.
Su Dongpo was one of China’s most famous poets and officials. Born in 1037, he was very smart and worked hard to pass the imperial exam (科举考试) to become a government official.
But Su had one big problem — he always told the truth. This made some powerful people angry, so the emperor sent him away to poor, faraway places many times.
Most people would be sad, but not Su Dongpo! Wherever he went, he helped the local people. When sent to Huangzhou, he learned to farm and even invented “Dongpo Pork”, a delicious dish we still eat today. Later in Hainan, a very poor island, he taught children how to read and write.
Through all these hard times, Su kept writing beautiful poems and creating art. “Life is like the moon,” he wrote, “sometimes full, sometimes not.” This shows his positive attitude. Even when he was old and sick, he never stopped working.
Su Dongpo’s story teaches us an important lesson: no matter how difficult life gets, we should never give up. Problems can’t stop a strong heart and hard work always makes life better.

Use a calendar to mark important dates, make a to-do list for your tasks, and use folders to keep papers. This way, you won’t waste time looking for things, and you’ll always know where to find them.
Live a healthy life
Eating well and staying active are key to having a good memory. Fruits, vegetables, and whole grains give our brains the energy they need. 35 Also, moving our bodies by doing exercise often helps more blood go to our brains. A healthy body means a healthy mind. And that’s great for our memory!
