Ⅰ.阅读理解 A (2026·齐鲁名校联考)It's one of the most common questions adults ask children:what do you want to be when you grow up? Although childhood is supposed to be fun, kids also find themselves discussing some very important topics regarding their futures. Now, a new study finds children who set big goals in terms of their future career and education often set themselves up for success as they get older. The findings, published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology by Rodica Damian, a professor of psychology at the University of Houston, are the first to relate life goal development to future success in school or the workplace. Damian and other researchers discovered that as children grow up, their goals naturally begin to change and these changes are expected to have consequences for future life outcomes, including occupational outcomes.During the study, researchers compared how these goals changed as children moved from adolescence to adulthood and how a person's goals impacted their success in school and as a worker later on.To do this, the team examined two youth groups from Iceland who were followed for 12 years. By understanding how changes in life goals relate to educational and occupational outcomes, researchers show how changes within individuals may also predict desired educational and occupational attainment.“For educational achievement, the strongest effects were found for education goals. Both initial levels and slopes (斜率) of education goals were positively associated with educational achievement in both samples,” Damian reports.“This indicates that adolescents with higher education goals, and those who showed a more positive change pattern in education goals, had higher educational achievement in young adulthood.” Overall, a child's goals focusing on their education and future success in life were concordant with their income in adulthood throughout their life.Simply put, when a child dreams big about doing well in school or achieving great success as an adult, these goals accurately paint a picture of how successful these children will be.So, the message is simple:dream big and dream of success, kids! If you can dream it, you can be it. 1.What is the significance of the new study according to the text? One key cause of this mismatch is the perception that someone with science qualifications is fully qualified for research work. The reality is that, often, a PhD or a first postdoctoral post is corresponding to an entrylevel qualification, with the holder needing further advice, guidance, mentoring and experience before they can work independently. Shifting generational priorities also play a part. For example, most current earlycareer scientists are millennials (千禧一代), born between the early 1980s and mid1990s.They are often digitally skilled and bring with them strong cooperation nature and a desire to see their work have societal impact. They also tend to value worklife balance and career flexibility, which might not always square with the priorities of the scientists interviewing them for jobs. Meanwhile, employers report that candidates often lack creative thinking, problemsolving and communication skills and qualities such as persistence, passion and determination. Addressing these challenges requires a multifaceted approach.Universities and other research training institutions can do more to expand the focus of PhD training beyond the academic track. This means providing advice and guidance about what career paths and job opportunities might be available for researchers in companies, the public sector and nongovernmental organizations.Employers need to consider the benefits of structured training for earlycareer researchers, as a way to boost critical thinking and analytical skills. This could be done by reproducing the training schemes commonly used by large technology, consulting, finance and legal firms. The path forward requires jobseekers and recruiters to understand each other better.Candidates would benefit from learning why recruiters are dissatisfied with the competence of applicants.Institutions, for their part, must see themselves as architects of scientific careers. This means acknowledging that professional preparation isn't a distraction from research excellence—it is an essential component of it. 5.Why do postgraduates fail to find satisfying jobs? A.Inadequate academic preparation. B.Limited job information sources. C.Absence of proper jobseeking skills. D.Misjudgment of qualification suitability. D 6.Which priority of millennials affect their job seeking? A.High cooperation ability. B.Emphasis on digital tech use. C.Pursuit of worklife balance. D.Freedom for mind and body. 根据第三段中“They also tend to value worklife balance and career flexibility, which might not always square with the priorities of the scientists interviewing them for jobs.” C 7.What training should be given to PhD researchers? A.Careerrelated advice. B.General skill building. C.Financial management tips. D.Academicfocused guidance. 根据倒数第二段中“Universities and other research training institutions can do more to expand the focus of PhD training...the public sector and nongovernmental organizations.” A 8.What does the last paragraph mainly talk about?
