五年级英语（沪教版2024）上册Unit2 第一篇：Our Wonderful Garden Party September 26 is a big day for our school. We will hold a wonderful garden party on the sports field. All students can enjoy different Chinese traditional games and get beautiful prizes after playing each game. I can’t wait for this great activity. There are so many fun games waiting for us. It looks cool and powerful. The dragon dance team will put on a show at the party too. Last week, they met lots of trouble during training. Minmin was the head of the dragon and ran too fast. The classmates at the dragon’s tail could not keep up and lost control of their sticks. Mr Zhong told them a key rule: the head, body and tail must stay in step and keep the same pace. After practicing again and again, their dragon dance finally looked lively and amazing. I plan to try every game at the party. I will stamp my game card after each activity and collect small prizes. It is a wonderful traditional Chinese kung fu and called the mother of many kung fu styles. I fell in love with it after watching the video and practicing all twelve kinds of actions. Mr Zhong showed us different body shapes when we practice Long Fist. First, we stand like a pine tree. We straighten our backs, hold our heads high and stand firm, just like strong pine trees standing on mountains. We look proud and powerful. Next, we sit like a bell. We fold our legs neatly and keep our bodies steady, quiet and round just like a metal bell. When we move our arms and legs, we must move as fast as the wind. Every movement needs all our strength. Xiaojiang and Shenshen practiced with me. At first, I moved slowly and could not keep my balance. Mr Zhong told me not to worry and practice every small action again and again. After ten minutes of practice, I could swing my arms quickly and jump lightly. James said my changquan looked amazing. We will show our changquan skills at the garden party. Many students will watch our kung fu show. Before the show, we will practice together to make sure all our actions match. Just like the dragon dance team, we need to stay in step with each other. If one person moves too slow or too fast, the whole show will not look good. Changquan is not only a sport but also a traditional game full of Chinese spirit.
