文章一：My Favourite School Clubs

Welcome back to our new term in September! Our school has many wonderful clubs for Grade Four and Five students, and I can’t wait to pick one to join. Let me tell you all the clubs we have this year.

On Monday afternoon, the Reading Club opens in the reading room from half past three to five o’clock. We read fun storybooks and share our favourite stories there. The Storytelling Club comes on Thursday; we stay until half past five to act out short stories and talk with our partners. The Art Club is on Tuesday in Room 306. Teachers teach us how to mix beautiful colours and draw great pictures, just like Xiaopu’s famous painting of Huangpu River night view.

There are two special clubs only for Grade 4 and 5. The Gardening Club meets in the school garden every Wednesday. We learn to plant sunflowers and take care of small plants. The Photography Club is on Friday morning in Room 102. I love taking photos because photos can keep all sweet moments in my daily life. Philip once dropped his phone and missed taking photos of elephants in the zoo, so I always take good care of my camera.

I also love the Pottery Club from our story time. At the Pottery Club, we make brush pots and paint beautiful bamboo on them. Bamboo is one of four noble plants in Chinese culture. When James found it hard to draw bamboo leaves, Xiaopu helped him and told him not to give up.

This term, I am going to join the Photography Club. I want to take photos of plants, birds and my family. Joining clubs lets me meet new friends, learn new skills and have lots of fun after school. It’s really great to take part in school clubs!

文章二：James’s Happy Time at the Pottery Club

Among all school clubs, the Pottery Club is my favourite, and I want to share James’s interesting story there with you. Last week, Miss Li gave all club members dry brush pots and gave us a big task: we needed to paint our own brush pots to make them beautiful.

At first, James looked at his plain brush pot and felt upset. He thought it did not look nice at all. He turned to his good friend Xiaopu and asked for advice. Xiaopu told him to paint bamboo, because bamboo is one of the four noble plants in traditional Chinese culture. James loved this great idea and quickly picked up his paintbrush to start working.

Soon, James met a new problem. Drawing thin bamboo leaves was much harder than he thought. His lines were messy, and he almost wanted to give up painting. Seeing his trouble, kind Xiaopu sat beside him and showed him the right way to draw soft leaves step by step. He told James to stay patient and practise slowly. Little by little, James got better and better. The word “easy” turns into “easier” when you have friends to help you.

After finishing all the painting, James held his brush pot happily. The green bamboo looked lively and beautiful on the white pottery. He thanked Xiaopu warmly and said the work became much easier with his help.

This story teaches me two important things. First, joining clubs like pottery lets us learn new skills of drawing and painting. Second, never give up when you meet problems, and always ask your classmates for help. Next term, I am going to join the Pottery Club too. I plan to draw plum flowers on my pottery works and keep them as wonderful memories of my school life. Making pottery and painting brings me so much joy every day.

文章三：My Photo Journal in the Photography Club

24 September, 2026

Today I finished my first photo journal for the Photography Club, and I want to talk about my wonderful club life with everyone. I join the Photography Club this term, and it only opens on Friday morning from half past one to half past two in Room 102. Only Grade Four and Five students can join this club, so all my classmates here share the same love for taking photos.

In the club, our teacher teaches us how to take beautiful photos of plants, birds, rivers and people. Every Friday, we walk around the school garden to take pictures of colourful flowers and tall trees. Last week, we went to the city park after class. I took many photos of lovely little birds and bright sunflowers. Those photos keep all my sweet moments in the park.

I still remember Philip’s funny story in our textbook. Philip saw a cute elephant in the zoo and wanted to take a photo, but he dropped his phone on the ground. He could not take any pictures at all. This story tells me to take good care of my camera and phone every time I go out to take photos.

Making a photo journal is our big project this month. Step one: write down which club you are in, what you learn and what you plan to do later. Step two: draw and decorate your journal with colourful pens. Step three: stand in front of the class to show and tell your journal to all your classmates.

In my journal, I wrote: I learn to take photos of nature. I am going to take more photos for my family and good friends on weekends. I feel so happy and relaxed in the Photography Club. If you love recording beautiful life, come and join us! You will have lots of fun here.
