A Useful Schedule for a Vocational Student
Zhang Tao is a first-year student in a vocational school in Jiangsu. At the beginning of this term, he felt his days were always full but not very clear. He had English classes, skill training, homework, sports and club activities. Sometimes he forgot to take tools to the training room, and sometimes he stayed up late because he did homework too slowly.
His head teacher advised him to make a weekly schedule. Zhang Tao wrote down his fixed classes first. Then he put skill training on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons because the training room was open at that time. He also set thirty minutes for English reading every morning. To keep healthy, he decided to run around the playground after school three times a week.
The schedule soon changed his school life. He could prepare books and tools one day earlier. He used odd time before lunch to memorise new words. When there was a staff meeting or a class activity, he checked the notice board and changed his plan in time. He still had busy days, but he no longer felt worried.
Zhang Tao also learned that a schedule should not be too tight. He left some free time for rest and for helping classmates. On Friday afternoon, he usually reviewed what he had done in the week. If one plan did not work well, he made it better for the next week. Now he believes that good time arrangement is not only about doing more things, but also about doing the right things at the right time.
