Dear Mr.Evans,
I'm Li Hua, a member of the Al+ English Learning Program. I've been observing our Project. Students are engaged, output has improved, yet something feels wrong.
Our AI project is working perhaps too well. Students have mastered the art of AI. For example, one student recently submited a well-written essay, but when asked to explain a few key expressions, he found it difficult to do so. It seemed that the AI had done too much. I feel this might, in the long run, affect how confidently they develop their own voice: Since our program ains to use Al as a supportive tool, your advice on hov to encourge indeependent thinking would be invaluable. A haring sesion in our next meeting woud be gradly appreciated.
Best regards,
Li Hua
Possible Version2:多个案例版
Dear Mr.Evans,
I hope you're doing well. I'm Li Hua from the AI-assisted English Learning Program, and I'm writing with a small "puzzle" we've been noticing, as well as to ask for your advice.
AI has been a real boost for many students, but aeross different groups, a few patterns have quietly emerged. Some students turn to Al to generate full essays before trying their own drafts, others rely on it for instant translation whenever they meet unfamiliar words; and occasionally, a few look up answers directly without fully engaging with the text. The work, in a sense, runs ahead of the learning. Given your experience, we would greatly value your perspective, especially on how to set clear boundaries. If possible, we would appreciate any suggestions you might share, perhaps even in the form of a short workshop.
Thank you very much for your time.We truly look forward to your thoughts.
Best regards,
Li Hua
二、[25届温州二模-守护天使?]
I'd always been told to take care of my older brother, Brian, who was born weak and small. I'd often tie his shoes or prepare another glass of water for him. My mom saw my larger size and strong body as a sign that I was to be a kind of guardian angel(守护天使) for Brian. However, that was not the case.
One day our school sponsored a pumpkin-carving contest. First prize was $100, and I knew just how I would spend it. There was a brand-new game I was dying to own. So I decided the first place bonus definitely had to land in my pocket.
When I had to carve the perfect pumpkin I'd picked out, it dawned on me that with my big clumsy fingers I'd surely screw it up(搞砸). I thought of Brian's smaller, delicate hands and knew he was the man for the job. I immediately begged Brian. Unexpectedly, he asked for a cut. That was fifty-fifty. Quickly doing the math in my head, I figured out even if I split (分摊) the first prize, I'd still have enough cash for the game. So I gave in to Brian's demands. With skillful hands Brian carved the perfect face, and now we had the best pumpkin ever.
Then the unexpected happened: We came in second. Unfortunately, second prize was only $50, and I needed every penny of that to buy the game. The day of the awards ceremony, the principal handed over the money to me because Brian was home, sick with cold.
If he really wanted to win, he would have been here today, I thought to myself, justifying stealing the cash from under poor Brian's runny nose. With hardly a thought, I ran to the store and bought my dream game. That night when Brian asked if we had won, I denied, afraid to look into his eyes.
The whole thing was never mentioned again until the day when Brian was packing for college. I played my usual role in helping him pack when I came across an old album filled with photos he had taken as the school photographer.
Paragraph 1:I was enjoying the photos when one caught my eye.
Paragraph 2:“You actually knew and didn't say anything?” I was shocked.

Possible Version1:下水作文
Paragraph 1: I was enjoying the photos when one caught my eye. It was a picture of me standing on the awards stage, clutching the pumpkin. I had stood there, grinning like I was the only winner, while it was Brian’s delicate hands that had made it great. The shame came, like an insistent wave, lapping at old wounds until pulling them open again. Brian had been there too, just beyond the frame, pressing the button silently. Should I say something now? Suddenly, the door creaked. “Hey, how’s the packing?” Brian stepped in, his eyes flicking to the photo. And I felt the shift in the air. He saw it all. The lie. The truth. The scars tore open in my heart. “Oh, this photo.” My chest tightened. But he only smiled. “Don’t you think you looked like a pumpkin-head back then?”
Paragraph 2: “You actually knew and didn’t say anything?” I was shocked. Brian shrugged, “Yes.” “But why?” Brian looked into my eyes. “A brother who ties your shoes, brings you water, wipes your runny nose. Do you truly think all that is worth no more than 25 dollars?” I opened my mouth, wanting to apologize or to explain, but Brian didn’t wait for either. “And anyway,” he said, “we played the game you bought together, didn’t we? That’s my cut of that prize.” Then came a shove, light and familiar. The kind that said things words never could. “Come on, pack up. That’s your duty.” I elbowed him in return. He laughed, then disappeared down the stairs to fetch me some water. I turned back to the photo, slipping it from the album. On the back, a single line in Brian’s careful hand: My favorite Pumpkin Head——shot on the day we became each other’s guardian angel.
Possible Version2:考场高分作文
Paragraph 1:I was enjoying the photos when one caught my eye. A single glance at it made my blood drain from my body—it was the very day of the pumpkin-carving award ceremony. Oh dear, in the photo, the principal was handing me the money, and I was unnaturally forcing a smile! I’d rather dig a hole and bury myself on the spot. Guilt weighed so heavily upon me that I didn’t dare to chance a glance at the poor victim sitting behind. I froze. And of course, Brian noticed. He leaned over, peering at the photo. “Pumpkin carving, huh?” A millionth of a second later, I poured out all my apologies, and somehow cursed myself as a fake angel. “Haha, don’t mention that! That’s all history!” he said.
Paragraph 2:“You actually knew and didn’t say anything?” I was shocked. “Sure enough,” Brian replied, turning his back and settling himself on the bed. He said that he’d always treat me as his little angel for my careful guarding, and a little misstep over a game wasn’t worth tearing that down. “All these years, that must have been heavy going, huh?” he added, laughing. His laughter, warm and unburdened, washed over me like a balm. “You too,” I muttered, still staring at the old picture—I saw something different. That unforgettable “immortal” night haunted me, as if I had wandered through a wilderness of guilt, lost in its shadows. But now, standing here with Brian, I had arrived at somewhere safer out of love. “Oh come on, my angel, next time it’s your treat!” He grinned, and we exchanged a knowing wink—a matured bond.
三、[2025年1月浙江首考-相信自己的勇敢]
Kevin was pretty bored. His mother was at work, and his father had been away on business. Therefore, he was left in the care of Mrs. Hill, an old lady who lived next door. His parents had raised the 12-year-old to be a good boy. He never got into trouble, though sometimes he wanted to do risky things. Mrs. Hill was asleep. Kevin sighed (叹息) and hoped something exciting would happen. Suddenly, a movement outside caught his eye.
Mrs. Hill’s front window faced Mr. and Mrs. Green’s house across the street. The couple had both gone to work, so it was strange that someone was over there. Kevin stared at the man at their front door. Suddenly, the man jumped through an open window into the house. With his heart in his mouth, Kevin grabbed Mrs. Hill’s home phone and called the police.
Thinking that the man might get away with whatever he wanted before the police arrived, Kevin decided to do something. He rushed out of Mrs. Hill’s house and crossed the street quickly. Grabbing a branch from a cut-down tree, he jumped in through the window. “Stop right there! You must leave right now!” he called out, holding the branch with both hands.
The man froze for a second, but when he saw the skinny boy he breathed a sigh of relief. “Hey, kid, put that down. It was my home. My parents used to live here and my father’s watch was here,” he explained, trying to lift a floorboard.
At that moment, the sounds of a police car echoed (回响) in the air. The man stood up in a panic, then ran through the house toward the window and jumped out. Kevin followed out and told the arriving police officers what had happened. They pursued and arrested the man.
Kevin went back to Mrs. Hill’s house. Somehow he wasn’t sure he had done the right thing. “What if he has told the truth?” he thought to himself. The man’s words sounded pretty convincing.
Paragraph 1: When Mr. and Mrs. Green got home, Kevin went to talk to them.
Paragraph 2: Kevin and Mr. Green took the watch they had found to the police station.

Possible Version1:下水作文
Paragraph 1: When Mr. and Mrs. Green got home, Kevin went to talk to them. Kevin's chest puffed with pride, "I stopped a thief!" The Greens blinked, "Right over there!" Kevin led them toward the creaking floorboards and told his daring story. "A young man looking for his old watch?" Mr. Green frowned. Just then, drawn by the noise, Mrs. Hill appeared. "Mrs. Hill," Mr. Green asked quickly, "did the family who lived here before have a son?" Mrs. Green asked. The old lady paused, as if rummaging through a very cluttered attic in her mind. "Oh, there was a boy. Quite a handful, just like Kevin!" A hush settled over the group. "Well, let's see what's really there." Together, they began prying up the floorboard the man had targeted. The wood gave way with a reluctant groan. Dusted curled into the air, and for a moment, no one moved. Then they leaned in. A watch. Kevin's eyes widened as Mr. Green picked it up. "We need to find out what really happened."
Paragraph 2: Kevin and Mr. Green took the watch they had found to the police station. The thief sat hunched at a desk, watching, waiting, perhaps praying. "Excuse me," Kevin mumbled. He explained everything while the officer examined the watch, checking it against the description the man had just given. It matched in every detail. The man, now visibly less guarded, let out a long sigh. "Thank you." Then, almost sheepishly, he added, "I owe you an explanation." He'd hidden his father's watch as a kind of teenage rebellion and never told anyone. "Today, it just hit me," he continued. "You know the rest." He looked down. "Maybe I ran because I was still caught up in that teenage mood, trying to be a hero, or something." Back home, Kevin gazed at the window where it had all begun. The truth, he realized, often lies beneath the floor, but not beyond a window to be broken. After all, life always leaves a door.
Possible Version2:考场作文1(本文为考生默写文,作者系25年1月浙江高考145分得分。)
Paragraph 1: When Mr. and Mrs. Green got home, Kevin went to talk to them. He recounted the story in detail, adding hesitantly, "I think... the man might actually be innocent." To his surprise, Mrs. Green revealed that there had lived, in fact, a couple with their son before the Greens took over this house. Driven by curiosity and a strong desire to uncover the truth, they lifted the floorboard that the man had been focused on. As they removed it, sure enough, they found beneath the wood lay a watch, carefully wrapped in a faded handkerchief, with the name "Tom Holland" engraved on it. "Oh my God! He was telling the truth! I got an innocent man arrested!" Kevin cried out, guilt weighing on him. "It's all right, Kevin. Let's make it right," Mr. Green reassured him.
Paragraph 2: Kevin and Mr. Green took the watch they had found to the police station. Kevin quickly found the officer he had met that day and told the story once more—this time, a corrected version. Then they were led to the holding area. "I'm sorry, sir. Are you Tom Holland?" Kevin asked. The man, who had recently been pleading his innocence, froze in surprise. "Yes, I am," he said. A brief exchange cleared up the misunderstanding. "I'm sorry for my uninvited invasion. I had no idea the house had new owners." The man said earnestly. "And I should have listened more carefully." Tom replied. They exchanged a smile, the handcuffs off and the knot in their hearts loosened. "The risk is finally over," Kevin smirked to himself. Calmer. Wiser. More patient. And, most of all, a little more grown-up.
Possible Version3:考场作文2(本文为专家组的标杆卷,最后得分为22分。)
Paragraph 1: When Mr. and Mrs. Green got home, Kevin went to talk to them. Feeling more and more anxious as he told the story, Kevin chewed his lower lip and kept his gaze on Mr. and Mrs. Green’s faces. A thoughtful expression appeared on Mr. Green’s face as Kevin finished. “We did buy this house from another family,” Mr. Green said, scratching his head. “Well, it seems there is a good way to find out the truth. A floorboard…Which one?” Kevin led them to the slightly raised board. The three of them squatted around the board, and Mr. Green tried to pry it open. The dust had jammed the cracks, making it hard to lift. Finally, after a lot of huffing and puffing, the board creaked open. And there, lying in the middle, was a watch.
Paragraph 2: Kevin and Mr. Green took the watch they had found to the police station. After explaining the story again to the police, Kevin and the others were taken to the room where the man was temporarily held. The man had his head drooped and his body slumped in a chair when they entered. “Is this your watch?” Kevin asked. Upon hearing this, the man jerked his head up and locked his eyes on the watch. His eyes sparkling with surprise, he stood up and exclaimed, “Yes! Yes!” He then started to ramble, “I’m so sorry. I’ve been in such a mess since Dad died.” After they figured out it was all a misunderstanding, everyone sighed, even the police. On their way out, Kevin asked the man why he had acted so suspiciously. “I don’t know…I wasn’t thinking straight,” the man replied, “maybe I was so afraid someone else would take it, who knows?” Kevin offered a reassuring smile; this was an exciting day after all.
