一、阅读理解。
① It's hard to turn down tasty bananas. They taste good and you don't have to wash them before eating them. However, British scientists say that the fruit may disappear by 2050.
② One reason for this is climate change. Scientists at the University of Exeter collected data from 27 countries that produce 86 percent of the world's bananas. They found that climate change has improved growing conditions in 21 of these countries. In the past 60 years, the average yield (平均产量) has reached 1.37 tons of bananas per hectare.
③ However, if temperatures keep rising, this advantage will disappear. Tens of the countries, including India, the world's biggest producer of bananas, will produce fewer bananas. By 2050, the fruit may die out.
④ Shouldn't bananas grow more easily if it's hotter outside? In fact, the perfect temperature range for growing bananas is between 24℃ and 32℃ . If temperatures get too high, they will stop gr owing.
⑤ Diseases are another danger to bananas. Unlike other plants, the bananas we grow come from shoot cuttings (嫩枝扦插) rather than seeds. This means that all banana plants have the same genotype (基因型). In other words, if a disease is able to kill one plant, it could kill t hem all.
⑥ One serious disease is called Panama. Caused by fungus in the soil, it spreads easily. If one banana plantation suffers from the disease, it will take 30 years until it is able to grow bananas again.

二、任务型阅读理解。
“The real China that I saw with my own eyes was so different from what the Western media had been describing for years, ”says Wong, who'd studied in China before.
The Chinese government awarded her a scholarship in 2013. Wong studied the Chinese language at Central China Normal University (华中师范大学) in Wuhan, Hubei Province, for a year, and then went to Shijiazhuang in Hebei Province and completed her bachelor's degree in law at Hebei University of Economics and Business in 2018.
“ ▲ ,” Wong recalls. “What really struck me was airports, malls, super-efficient transportation and convenient mobile payment. ”
Most of what she'd heard about China earlier came from English-language media, which described China as “rural”.
She visited several destinations, including Beijing, Shanghai, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. She says she was impressed by the culture, people and landscapes. She especially appreciates how safe China is.
“We (Fijians) can learn a lot more from China,” she says. “We also hope to bring the good things we have learned back to Fiji and serve our own country with them.”
Wong now works as a manager at Dingjin Real Estate Development Co. and overseas Nausori Plaza, which is one of the largest investments in Fiji. She believes the challenging but high-quality education she received in China has prepared her for the job market.
China's ambassador to Fiji, Zhou Jian, says around 300 Fijian students like Wong have studied in China through Chinese government scholarship programs since 1996.
Zhou says Fijians are becoming more interested in learning about China. Recently, many of government officials, young people and students have traveled to China. Many of them told the ambassador these trips changed their ideas.
“If you've never been to China, you should visit it,” Wong says. “It's the only way you will know what China truly is. ”

Part2 单元写作
三、Dear teachers and classmates,
Good morning! As junior high school life comes to an end, I'm honored to stand here and share my growth with you.
Looking back, I have changed a lot. I have become more confident, responsible, and independent. I've also improved my learning skills and made many good friends. Among all the people who helped me, my English teacher has helped me the most. She always encouraged me when I had difficulties and gave me great advice on both study and life. I'm really thankful for her support.
After I graduate, I will work even harder in senior high school. I know the road ahead may be challenging, but I'm ready for it. I will keep chasing my dreams.I'm looking forward to meeting new classmates, learning new things, and becoming a better person. Junior high school is just the beginning, and I'm excited about what's next.
Thank you!
