A Gen Z train attendant in China has gained widespread praise for his creative approach to keeping children calm and entertained during long train rides — by handing out test papers and stickers (贴画).
Qin Yunhao, who works on the G1546 high-speed train from Nanning East to Hangzhou West, brings along a plastic bag filled with simple worksheets and colorful reward stickers every time he’s on duty. His idea is simple but effective: children who become noisy during the journey are gently handed a test paper, and upon completing it, are rewarded with stickers. Meanwhile, children who remain quiet throughout the ride are given stickers directly as a form of positive reinforcement (强化). The idea, which started during the summer travel rush, has received overwhelming support from parents and netizens. Many praised it for turning a potentially noisy carriage (车厢) into a peaceful environment, while also giving children something meaningful to do during the journey.
The inspiration came from observing parents who brought homework for their children on board. Wanting to help those who hadn’t come prepared, Qin began printing out simple exercises to share.
This low-cost but thoughtful solution has been described as a “magical fix”, as it eases pressure on parents, entertains young passengers, and helps maintain order in a public space. It’s also seen as a reflection of growing human-centered innovation in public service.
Qin’s fellow railway staff have also adopted various child-friendly practices. Some bring picture books or small toys, others create “kids’ kits” with puzzles and games. On certain trains, a children’s activity area has even been set up in the dining car. Railway staff also encourage parents to prepare entertainment in advance — such as downloading cartoons or bringing educational games — to help children enjoy the ride calmly and constructively.
Balancing children’s natural liveliness with public order is no easy task. But initiatives like this show that thoughtful, human-centered solutions can go a long way toward creating more harmonious public spaces.
24. What does Qin Yunhao do to keep children quiet on the train?
A. He sets up activity areas. B. He provides books and toys.
C. He gives out test papers and stickers. D. He downloads cartoons and games.
25. What made Qin Yunhao decide to hand out worksheets?
A. He hoped to make the summer rush more fun.
B. He wanted to protect children’s natural liveliness.
C. He was required to create more harmonious public areas.
D. He saw some parents unprepared for their kids’ homework.
26. What do people think of Qin Yunhao’s solution?
A. It fits the summer rush. B. It is expensive but effective.
C. It makes carriages peaceful. D. It puts pressure on parents and kids.
27. What is the best title for the text?
A. Railway Activities for Kids. B. Ways to Play with Kids on Trains.
C. Harmonious Summer Travel. D. A Train Attendant’s Idea to Calm Kids.

Amid the beating of gongs and drums, students from the Affiliated Art School of Shenyang Normal University demonstrated the basic skills of singing, speaking, acting and acrobatic fighting of Peking Opera and performed some excerpts (片段) of Wu Wenhua and Woman Defending for the Emperor for 25 students from Ecuador. Some of the students also put on facial makeups to practise stage steps and wave water sleeves under the guidance of their teachers, winning applause from the audience.
“I’ve heard of Peking Opera before, but knew little about it. Today, I not only saw the Peking Opera performance by myself, but also tried on the costumes. This experience was fantastic!” Dressed in the costume for the role of a general, Oliver showed a debut (首次登台) posture he had just learned, and had his classmates help him take photos for memory.
“Peking Opera is the quintessence of Chinese culture, with a profound history and a rich heritage. Today, we have prepared a Peking Opera immersive experience specifically for Ecuadorian students, helping them feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture through lively activities, and hoping they can bring our national art to the world,” said Wang Yunfeng, deputy director of the Opera Teaching Department at the Affiliated Art School of Shenyang Normal University.

Dear Chris,
Thank you for organizing the weekly Cross-disciplinary Class for us, which, I believe, will help to boost our passion for study and enhance our comprehensive learning capacity.
As a keen English learner and science lover, I strongly recommend combining English with any of the science subjects, say, physics, chemistry and biology. The reasons are as follows. To start with, most of the latest resources on scientific research are in English. Hence, a good command of the language will greatly facilitate scientific study, especially for those who plan to major in science in college. And the inquiry-based and hands-on nature of science study, in turn, will surely make English learning more engaging.
Hope my humble ideas will be of some help for your work. Looking forward to the brand new experience.
Yours,
Li Hua

第二节(满分25分)
81. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
As a middle school student, I would walk through our campus, enjoying the tidy paths and green trees. But one thing always bothered me — the messy waste bins by the teaching building. Waste paper, plastic bottles, and leftover food boxes were mixed together, spilling out of the bins and giving off a faint, unpleasant smell. Even though each bin was marked with clear recycling signs, few students bothered to follow the rules.
Last week, a group of community environmental protection volunteers came to our campus to promote garbage (垃圾) classification. They handed out detailed leaflets and gave speeches, telling us how waste sorting helps protect the Earth. Sadly, their efforts were ignored, and the waste bins remained in a mess.
One afternoon after school, when I passed the waste bins again, I saw our teacher Mr White picking up the rubbish piece by piece. He wore a pair of gloves, sorting plastic bottles into the recycling bin and separating wet waste from dry rubbish patiently. I froze in surprise, never expecting such a busy teacher to do such tiring work. Seeing me standing aside, he waved me over and wiped sweat from his forehead.
“Protecting our living environment doesn’t mean doing great deeds,” Mr White said gently. “It starts with sorting a handful of rubbish, saving a piece of paper, or throwing rubbish in the right bin. Our campus is our second home, and we should take good care of it together.”
Mr White’s words inspired me to decide to take action. The next day, I brought homemade labels and stuck them clearly on each bin to remind everyone of sorting rules. During class breaks, I stood beside the waste bins and patiently told classmates which waste went into each bin. At first, many students turned away, making me a little upset. But I never stopped. I kept sorting the mixed rubbish quietly. I also told them about Mr White’s action and my plan. Finally, some of my classmates agreed to support me.

【高分范文】
As days went by, my small moves touched more classmates to join me. Several warm-hearted friends came to help promote garbage classification and sort rubbish together. We made colorful posters and put them up on classroom walls and campus noticeboards, spreading the importance of environmental protection. We also took out the leaflets from the community volunteers and shared the sorting knowledge with more peers. Gradually, more and more students began to sort rubbish on their own. The messy waste bins turned neat and clean, and the bad smell around them was gone. Our campus looked fresher and more pleasant, making every student feel happy to study here.
Surprisingly, our action caught those community environmental volunteers’ attention. They came back to our campus specially, praising our class and setting us as a good example for other classes. What was more unexpected was that our story was published in the school newspaper, inspiring more students and even nearby schools to follow our lead. This experience taught me that protecting the Earth is never an empty promise. Every tiny effort around us can add up to a big force. As long as we start with small daily things and keep going, we can make our living environment greener and better little by little.
