Learning about AI
▲
AI works by using algorithms ( 算法), or step-by-step instructions, to help computers understand and work with information. For example, if you wanted to teach a computer to know different types of fruits, you would give it a lot of pictures of fruits and tell it which ones are apples, bananas, and so on. The computer would then use this information to find out what new fruits are. This process is called “machine learning”.
What can AI be used for?
AI is already being used in many different areas. For example, AI can be used to:
● diagnose and treat diseases;
● control self-driving cars;
● recommend movies and TV shows according to your viewing history;
● help teachers give marks to papers.
The Future of AI
In the future, AI may completely change many parts of our lives and help us solve some of the world’s biggest problems. However, it’s also important to remember that AI is just a tool, and it’s up to us to decide how we use it. With responsible and ethical (合乎道德的) use, AI can make the world a better place for everyone!

Little Free Libraries are small boxes with books inside for people to borrow. They started in the US in 2009 and soon became popular in the world. They are a special part of communities. Not long ago, in Australia, a girl and her mother built a “little free plant library”—a free plant stand to bring happiness to their community.
Lily and her mother noticed that people always looked sad in recent years. “So what can we do to fill people’s hearts with joy?” Lily thought. As she often helps her father in the garden, Lily is good at making plants grow. While Lily was looking after flowers in the garden, she came up with the idea for a plant stand. “Gardening is a natural way to help people relax,” Lily said.
With the help of her mother, Lily built a tall stand and painted pictures on it. They put many kinds of plants on it. The stand invited people with the words, “Need a plant? Take a plant. Have a plant? Leave a plant.” People could come to take a plant home or leave a plant for people in need. The stand became a warm space for people in the community to meet and talk. Even though it took Lily and her mother a lot of time to grow the plants and put them on the stand, they were happy to see these lovely people and the look of joy on their faces.

A helping hand
Helping others is a tradition in China, and we all have the ability to do it. It not only warms the world but also brings us happiness and growth.
Last winter, I saw an old lady struggling with heavy bags. I immediately offered help and carried them home for her. Her grateful smile filled my heart with joy, and I realized that even small acts of kindness can change the world.
Let’s take action now! By helping others, we can spread love and build a better society. Remember: a helping hand warms both the giver’s and the receiver’s hearts.
