On February 11,2026,China successfully carried out a key flight test for its manned lunar exploration
(载人月球探测)program at the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan Province. The test included the
carrier rocket(运载火箭)and the Mengzhou crewed spacecraft(载人飞船).
During the test, the Long March-10 completed a low-altitude test flight. When the rocket reached the
conditions for abort(紧急中止)at maximum dynamic pressure(最大动压)一a dangerous moment during
launch-the Mengzhou return capsule (received the command from the rocket and successfully
separated as planned. This showed that the spacecraft's escape system could work reliably under difficult
conditions.
After about 470 seconds of flight, both the first stage of the Long March-10 and the Mengzhou return
capsule splashed down (safely in the planned sea area. This was China's first successful at-sea recovery
(of both a rocket stage and a crewed spacecraft capsule.
Although officials called it a "low-altitude test,"the rocket's first stage actually reached about 105
kilometres above Earth一well above the Karman line(卡门线),the recognized boundary of space.Itis
important to note that the spacecraft had already separated from the rocket at about 11 kilometres during the
escape test and landed safely in the sea.Zhu Pingping,an expert from the China Aerospace Science and
Technology Corporation, explained that 105 kilometres is the same altitude (the rocket will reach in real
lunar missions."Calling it a 'low-altitude test'might sound like it didn't go very high,"she said,"but in fact,
the rocket stage already crossed into space."
The test proved that the rocket's first stage could fly and land as designed. It also showed smooth
cooperation among the rocket, spacecraft, ground control, and sea recovery systems. All of these systems must
work together perfectly for a manned mission(载人任务)to succeed.
This important success lays a solid technical foundation for future development and brings China closer to
its goal of sending astronauts to the moon before 2030.
英语试题第3页(共8页)
()16.What can we infer about the flight duration from the passage?
A.It was exactly 470 seconds long
B.It was a little longer than 7 minutes.
C.It was much shorter than 5 minutes.
D.It lasted for more than an hour.
()17.Which of the following is TRUE about the test?
A.The spacecraft and the rocket splashed down together.
B.The whole flight lasted less than 400 seconds.
C.The test was not helpful for future lunar missions.
D.The rocket's first stage reached about 105 kilometres high
()18.Which of the following statements would Zhu Pingping most likely agree with?
A.The test failed to reach the altitude of real lunar missions.
B.The Karman line is located below 100 kilometres.
C.Calling it a "low-altitude test"is somewhat misleading.
D.The Long March-10 cannot fly as high as designed.
(
)19.What can we learn about the escape system from the passage?
A.It is the least important part of the spacecraft.
B.It is designed to work only in perfect conditions.
C.It is crucial for the safety of astronauts in danger.

)20.What is the best title for the passage?

Have you ever really loved a TV show?I mean the kind you think about all day and can't wait to discuss
with your friends.Especially when an episode (ends with an unsolved situation that makes you really want
to know what happens next-but when will the next episode be?
This wanting often leads to binge-watching ()Thanks to developments in internet speed and
technology, streaming (services now allow us to watch the whole seasons of our favourite shows
whenever we want. This has made binge-watching very common among young people.
However, recent research from British media watchdog Ofcom has found that out of the more than half of
British adults who watch more than one episode of a show back-to-back,almost a third have admitted (
missing sleep or becoming tired as a result;and one quarter have put off their homework.Next we'll be
missing work!Teachers are now worried that students might fail to complete homework for the same reason.
Binge-watching is similar to harmful habits like binge-eating.All of these are often connected to a
shortage of self-control and may develop into bad habits. Many people find binge-watching difficult to stop
once they start. Some students report that it has made them unable to focus on studying. This raises an
important question:could binge-watching become a new form of addiction ()
The plenty of information and entertainment that television and online media can bring us is,many would
say,a good thing. However, like any activity, when we go too far,it can be dangerous. It becomes especially
worrying when it begins to influence our sleep, schoolwork,or personal relationships.
So what's the solution?Moderation!Learning to manage our screen time wisely requires us to set clear
rules-for example,by deciding on a viewing timetable beforehand-while also exploring other relaxing
activities,such as reading,sports,or socializing with friends.Remember the old saying:"(A)

Dogs are not just pets;they can be good for our health, especially for teenagers.Recent research suggests
that spending time with dogs can lower teens'worries and improve how they act with others.
A Japanese study led by Dr.Kikusui looked into the reason behind this.Scientists found that teenagers
who own dogs have a different community of microbes(微生物群s落),often called“gut bacteria”,compared
①
those who don't.These microbes are important because the gut and the brain work
closely together. The bacteria produce chemical substances (that can influence how their brains
work and how they feel.
The study included over 300 teenagers in Tokyo. Results showed that teens with dogs had fewer
difficulties in getting along with others and showed less anger and bad behavior.Besides, these teens had
higher levels of certain helpful gut bacteria. On the other hand, teens who don't have dogs showed more
behavior problems. This shows a possible connection:microbes from dogs might lead to better mental (
health.
Next, scientists moved gut microbes from the teenagers to mice. The mice that received microbes from
dog owners became more friendly and curious. This supports the idea that microbes related to dogs can
positively influence behavior.
Therefore,scientists suggest that teenagers spend2
least 30 minutes playing with
dogs every day to relax and lower their worries. Also, take dogs for walks regularly, which can not only
exercise the body but also improve the ability to get along with others. And take part in feeding and caring for
dogs, which helps develop a sense of responsibility and makes the mind healthier.

How I Have Changed These Years
Time goes by quickly.Looking back at the past years,I have
changed a lot.
I used to be a shy girl who never spoke in class and was afraid
of making new friends. The most important change is that I've
become outgoing and confident.Last year,my English teacher asked
me to join an English speech contest. At first,I wanted to give up,
but she encouraged me and helped me practice every day. Finally,I
won third prize.Since then,I've dared to express myself and make
more friends.
These changes make me believe that trying new things can
bring great surprises.
