V.阅读理解
An exciting innovation (新发明)appeared in China's tourism industry recently. Robotic exoskeletons (机器人外骨骼),, similar to special robot outfits, came out as helpers for tourists, pushing the country's move towards "smarter" tourism.
At Mount Taishan in Shandong, some visitors didn't want to walk all the way to the top. Standing over 1,500 metres high with over 7,000 steps,
Taishan is a difficult climb. So, they waited in long lines to rent(租) robotic exoskeletons. These robots were so popular that many people waited two hours to get one.
Using the robot costs money. You can pay by the hour or by the route. Usually, it's 80 yuan for three hours. Mr Li said that with the robot, it took half the time to climb a steep (陡峭的) part of the mountain. Yan Lidong, a 26-year-old tourist from Beijing, tried it and said, "I don't want my legs to be too tired. My friend tried to climb Mount Taishan in October but couldn't finish. He rested in bed for two days with shaking legs."
Mount Taishan isn't the only place with these high-tech helpers. Mount
Huangshan in Anhui lets visitors use smart knee straps and walking sticks now. Indeed, the robots reduce the physical burden of climbing a lot. And Al products and new tourism services can attract young people.
The recent festival holiday showed China's progress in modernizing tourism. Years ago, smart tourism mainly meant mobile phones and Wi-Fi signals at tourist sites. Now, it's about Al-powered smart machines. With these tools, travelling will definitely become more convenient and enjoyable.
