It is thought that some people are sure to be failures. As a saying goes, “A bird with a broken wing will never fly high.”
Jackie always caused trouble at school. He failed almost every course. Teachers always felt distressed when they saw his name on their classroom lists.
When he was in the fifth grade, all the students needed to take part in a community program. At the beginning, Jackie stood against the back wall, outside the circle of students. But gradually, the game-creating activity caught his attention. Jackie had some interesting ideas and other students all listened to him carefully.
The next day, Jackie was very active in all the activities. He also joined the Homeless Project team. The school headmaster chose Jackie to be the head of the team. However, a group of teachers was against this decision. The headmaster reminded them that the purpose of this community program was to discover any positive passion (积极的热情) that a student had and reinforce (加强) its practice till true change could take place.
Two weeks later, Jackie led a group of 70 students to collect food. They set a record of 2,854 cans in two hours. The local newspaper covered the activity with a full-page article. Jackie’s picture was up there for doing something great.

Do you live in a city? Have you noticed how noisy and crowded they are? What if you could live next to a calm lake or river instead?
As it turns out, living near water, such as oceans, lakes or rivers, can help us feel both happier and healthier. A study from a UK university found that people living less than a kilometer from the coast are about 22% less likely to have mental (心理的) health problems. This is compared with people who live 50 kilometers or farther away from the sea. People who visit the coast at least twice a week usually have better physical and mental health as well.
So how do these “blue spaces” make us feel better? For one thing, living near water means having less pollution and more sunlight. Both of them are connected to better mental and physical health. People who get more sun may be happier than those who do not.
The air above the sea is also different. After spending time near the ocean, you might find that you feel more relaxed than usual. This is because sea air is full of negative ions (负离子). These ions balance our levels of serotonin (血清素), a body chemical that has an influence on our feelings. With balanced serotonin levels, we feel calmer and more relaxed.
Finally, people who live near water are also more physically active. Water sports like swimming and boating can help us stay in good shape and keep us healthy.
根据短文内容,选择最佳答案。
36. How does the writer start the passage?
A. By listing numbers. B. By asking questions.

B. Those who live less than a kilometer from the sea.
C. Those who live more than 500 km away from the ocean.
D. Those who like watching swimming and boating on TV.
38. What does the underlined word “them” in Paragraph 3 refer to (指代)?
A. Those “blue spaces”. B. Living and working near water.
C. Water sports. D. Less pollution and more sunlight.
39. Why does the writer mention negative ions in Paragraph 4?
A. To show how fresh the air near the ocean is.
B. To show how body chemicals influence health.
C. To explain why people should be physically active.
D. To explain why people feel relaxed when spending time near the ocean.
40. What can be the best title for this passage?

AI is not just a chat tool. It can truly help every user solve practical problems. It has become available to everyone. Whether you’ re a student or a worker, as long as you have an idea, you can ask AI tools to bring it to life.
At Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), the students share their school with some cute friends. More than 60 street cats live there, including Dahei, the star cat. While the students love playing with them, taking care of so many animals is a difficult job too. The students tried to record the cats’ information and save everything as computer documents. Although the work was meaningful, it was also tiring.
Recently, a blogger (博主) named Youzi visited the school and came up with a solution: creating a webpage for the cats. However, instead of coding (写代码) by herself, Youzi turned to the AI tool Qianwen for help, because it could save her a lot of time. The result was amazing. In less than five minutes, Qianwen built a complete and clear page.
The homepage has information about all the cats. And each cat has its own page, with its name, photo, favorite food, and health record. More usefully, anyone can add feeding records to the page, allowing everyone to see the cats’ meals and feeding times. “If all feeding points are recorded, there won’t be a situation where two people might feed the cats at the same feeding point and the same time,” Youzi said.
With the help of AI, the university has become a much warmer and safer home for these little “students”.
根据短文内容,判断句子正(T)、误(F)。
41. AI can help every user to bring his idea to life because it is a chat tool.
42. It is difficult for students at NUAA to take care of those street cats living in the university.
43. To introduce AI tool Qianwen to more people, Youzi decided to use it.
44. People can learn about when the cat was born from its own page.
45. The street cats at NUAA have had a warmer and safer home with the help of AI.
【答案】41. F 42. T
43. F 44. F
45. T

【41题详解】
根据文章开头第一句“AI is not just a chat tool.”可知,AI不只是一个聊天工具,它能帮助用户解决实际问题并实现想法,题干中“because it is a chat tool”的表述与原文不符。
【42题详解】
根据第二段中“...taking care of so many animals is a difficult job too.”以及“Although the work was meaningful, it was also tiring.”可知,照顾这么多校内流浪猫对NUAA的学生们来说确实比较困难。
【43题详解】
根据第三段中“...Youzi turned to the AI tool Qianwen for help, because it could save her a lot of time.”可知,Youzi决定使用AI工具是为了节省时间,而不是为了向更多人介绍它。
【44题详解】
根据第四段中“And each cat has its own page, with its name, photo, favorite food, and health record.”可知,猫的个人页面包含名字、照片、喜爱的食物和健康记录,并未提及出生(born)的时间。
【45题详解】
根据文章最后一句“With the help of AI, the university has become a much warmer and safer home for these little “students”.”可知,在AI的帮助下,NUAA的流浪猫们确实拥有了一个更温暖、更安全的家。

Have you ever heard the saying, “If you learn math, physics, and chemistry well, you can go anywhere in the world without fear”? This saying became popular in China because of one person—the mathematician (数学家) Chen Jingrun (1933-1996). This year marks 30 years since Chen died.
Chen’s greatest achievement was getting closer than anyone else in the world to solving the famous Goldbach’s conjecture (哥德巴赫猜想). The problem was first raised in 1742, but no one could prove it at that time. But in 1973, Chen published a paper that nearly proved it, drawing tons of attention in the international math field. His work is still the best in the study of the Goldbach conjecture today. It also encouraged young Chinese people back then to study science.
Chen was not only smart but also very hardworking. While working on Goldbach’s conjecture, he used huge amounts of scratch paper (草稿纸). One time, he was so lost in thought about the problem that he walked into a tree on the sidewalk and said sorry to it.
Though Chen left us 30 years ago, his spirit never disappears. He once said, “Working hard in science is like climbing high mountains. The weak and the lazy can never experience the joy and happiness of victory.” His story is just like a light that guides us to move forward in the journey of learning knowledge.

44. People can learn about when the cat was born from its own page.
45. The street cats at NUAA have had a warmer and safer home with the help of AI.
