Li Guike has been a doctor for patients with leprosy (麻风病) for over 40 years in a small village in Eryuan County, Dali. In 1981, he first walked into a village called Shanshiping, which was used to separate leprosy patients from others. He was only 24 years old then.
“The patients not only suffered (遭受) from the illness but also from fear,” Li said. He decided to stay. He made all the patients in the village healthy again, but his work did not stop there. Though the patients got better again, they had no place to go. Their families were gone, and people still feared them.
The village was like an isolated island with no roads, no electricity, and no hope. So Li decided to stay to help them build a real home.
He led the villagers to build roads, set up electricity, and bring clean water to the village. He also became a teacher to the children. With his help, several of them went to college and started new lives.
One of the villagers said, “Dr. Li did everything for us. He is like a father to us.” Li also built a museum in the village to tell the history of leprosy and how people lived through those hard times.
Even after 40 years, Li Guike still goes back to the village often. His story shows that one person’s kindness can change many lives.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way students learn. More and more schools are using AI tools to help with teaching. Some people believe this is a great step forward, while others worry about its risks. So, is AI a helpful tool or a dangerous shortcut for students?
On the one hand, AI can offer many advantages. First, it gives personal learning plans. AI systems can look at a student’s strengths and weaknesses, then make study plans that fit each person. For example, if a student struggles with English grammar, an AI app can give extra exercises and explain the rules many times until the student gets them right. Second, AI is free to use 24 hours a day. Students can ask questions and get answers right away, even at midnight. This is especially helpful for those who cannot pay for private tutors (家庭教师).
However, there are serious worries. The biggest problem is that students may become too dependent on AI. When homework becomes too easy with AI help, students might stop thinking for themselves. A recent survey found that 42% of middle school students said they used AI to finish writing tasks without understanding the content. Another worry is about fairness. Not every student can use the same AI tools, which could create a bigger gap between rich and poor students.
In my opinion, AI itself is neither good nor bad. It depends on how we use it. Schools should teach students to use AI as a helper, not to replace their own thinking. Teachers need to design homework that AI cannot easily complete, such as group discussions and practical projects. Only in this way can we enjoy the benefits of AI while avoiding its dangers.
根据语篇内容,选择最佳选项。
26. How does the writer introduce the topic at the beginning?
A. By showing different ideas about AI.
B. By telling a funny story about AI.
C. By asking teachers for advice on AI.
27. What is the grammar example used to show?
A. Many students are weak in grammar.
B. AI can offer personalized learning help.
C. AI is better than tutors.
28. What is the biggest problem of using AI according to Paragraph 3?
A. Students may stop thinking independently.
B. AI tools are too expensive for most families.
C. Teachers refuse to use AI in class.
29. What advice does the writer give to teachers?
A. Design tasks that AI cannot finish easily.
B. Stop giving writing homework.
C. Check all homework with AI.
30. What is the best title for the text?
A. AI: A Perfect Teacher for Everyone
B. AI in Education: Blessing or Risk?
C. How to Build AI Study Tools?

China’s space program has made great progress in recent years, On May 16, 2026, China successfully launched the Shenzhou-23 manned spacecraft. Three astronauts were sent to the Tiangong space station. This mission marked another important step in China’s space program.
The crew includes two male astronauts and one female astronaut. They will stay in space for about six months. During their stay, they will carry out more than 100 scientific experiments. These experiments cover areas such as space medicine, new materials, and life science. One special task is to test a new robot arm that can help with repairs outside the station. What makes this mission even more meaningful is that one astronaut will stay in space for over one year. This is the first time China has tested such a long stay.
The success of Shenzhou-23 is built on years of hard work. In February 2026, China completed two important tests for its manned lunar exploration project. The Long March 10 carrier rocket passed a low-altitude demonstration test, which is designed to check if the rocket works well near the ground, and the Mengzhou manned spacecraft passed the maximum dynamic pressure escape test, which aims to check if astronauts can escape safely when the rocket flies very fast. These tests were necessary because they proved the moon landing equipment was safe.
China’s space achievements have also inspired many young people. A recent online survey shows that 82% of middle school students hope to learn more about space science after hearing the news. Some students even dream of becoming astronauts in the future.
Looking ahead, China plans to send astronauts to the moon before 2030. The Lanyue lunar lander has already finished landing and take-off tests. As one astronaut said, “The space station is our home in space, and the moon will be our next stop.”

Though the patients got better again, they had no place to go. Their families were gone, and people still feared them.
The village was like an isolated island with no roads, no electricity, and no hope. So Li decided to stay to help them build a real home.

One of the villagers said, “Dr. Li did everything for us. He is like a father to us.” Li also built a museum in the village to tell the history of leprosy and how people lived through those hard times.
