The Old Man and the Sea (1952) is a novella by the American author Ernest Hemingway (1899–1961). It tells the story of an old fisherman called Santiago and his struggle to catch a giant marlin. It won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1953. Hemingway also won the Nobel Prize in literature that year.

Of all the books I’ve read, The Three-Body Problem is my favourite. It was written by Chinese writer Liu Cixin in 2008. It is a famous science fiction novel and won the Hugo Award in 2015.
The story is set in modern China and the future. The main character is Wang Miao, a scientist. He finds an alien civilisation called Trisolarans, who want to invade Earth. The most exciting part is when humans fight to protect their home from the advanced aliens.
This book has taught me to think big and never give up. I’m inspired by humans’ courage to face huge challenges. As Liu Cixin shows, hope is the most powerful thing. I’ve read it twice and still love it. I strongly recommend this book to all science fiction lovers. Don’t miss it!
