On March 20, 2026, China saw a rare overlap (重叠) of the Dragon Head Raising Festival and the Spring Equinox. This special situation happens about once every 19 years, and the last time was in 2007.
The Dragon Head Raising Festival is on the second day of the second lunar month. It comes from old beliefs about nature and renewal (更新). In Chinese folklore (民间传说), the dragon wakes up with spring thunder, bringing life back to the land. People see this day as a fresh start and hope for good harvests.
People across China keep many lovely traditions. Getting a haircut is popular—it means leaving bad luck behind and welcoming new chances. There are also special “dragon-themed” foods: spring pancakes for dragon scales, noodles for dragon whiskers, and wontons (馄饨) for dragon eyes. These dishes show wishes for health and good luck. Some families use herbs (药草) to drive away insects, hoping for well-being and successful farming.
The Spring Equinox is one of China’s 24 Solar Terms. On this day, the sun crosses the celestial equator (天赤道), making day and night almost equal in length around the world. The weather gets warmer, swallows return, and thunder becomes more frequent. With mild weather, enough rain and bright sunshine, crops grow fast. So the equinox is very important for agriculture (农业).
The two events together have double meanings. The festival stands for rain, vitality (活力) and the start of spring farming. The equinox represents balance, harmony and natural growth. Together, they show the deep link between Chinese culture and nature, and express people’s common hope for good weather and fruitful years.
26.In which year will we see the overlap of the Dragon Head Raising Festival and the Spring Equinox happen?
A.In 2027. B.In 2030. C.In 2035. D.In 2045.

29.What’s the meaning of the Spring Equinox in Paragraph 4?

More than one in three UK teenagers are worried that artificial intelligence (Al) may take their jobs in the future, according to a new survey by BBC Bitesize. The Bitesize Careers Survey 2026 surveyed over 4,500students aged 13 to 16 across the United Kingdom. It found that 36% of them worry that machine work could take away jobs in their chosen nerds. Another 37% believe AI will cut down the number of jobs open to people in the future.
However, there is an interesting paradox Although many young people fear AI, they are also ready to use it to help themselves. Two thirds of the teenagers said they would use AI to improve their chances of getting a job. This shows a growing difference between their worry and their confidence in using new technology.
The survey also looked at what jobs teenagers want when they grow up. Traditional careers remain the most popular choices. Doctor continues to top the list, followed by engineer and teacher. Other jobs such as animal doctor, police officer and lawyer also sit high on the list. As for the groups they would most like to work for, the NHS (the UK’s public health service) came out ahead of big tech companies like Google and Apple.
Cerys Griffiths, Head of BBC Bitesize, said: “It’s clear that young people are curious (好奇的) about AI. but they also have serious worries about how it could influence their futures.” (To deal with this, BBC Bitesize has created a free Guide to AI. The guide helps 14 to 19-year-olds understand now AI works, how it is already being used in real jobs, and how to use it safely and in a correct way. It focuses on real-world examples across industries including health, fashion, gaming, and sport. The purpose is to help young people see AI as a helper rather than an opponent (对手) in their future jobs.

11.D 12.C 13.D 14.B 15.A 16.B 17.A 18.C 19.B 20.D
根据后文他的想法“It will take too much time... I have to prepare for the coming exams.”
give up“放弃”、put off“推迟”、take over“接管”均与他的状态不符。
根据后文“He wanted to join them, but he was too embarrassed to go down”可知,他既羡慕同学们的快乐,又为自己逃避劳动的行为感到尴尬,shame“羞愧”符合语境。
根据前文“ran back to the classroom”可知,Tiffany是跑着回来的,处于上气不接下气的状态,out of breath意为“上气不接下气”,breath“呼吸”符合语境。
根据后文“The soil was dry and heavy”可知,土壤又干又硬,难以挖掘,hard“坚硬的”符合语境。
根据后文“He looked around at the trees and the smiling faces of his classmates.”
根据后文“that labor did not take away from learning — it added joy to life ”可知,他通过这次经历对劳动的看法发生了转变,realized“意识到”符合语境。
根据前文“it added joy to life”可知,劳动能为生活带来快乐,happiness“快乐”与前文呼应,符合语境。
