2.细节理解题。根据Challenges Remain标题下的“Some Louisa teachers do not use AI at all. Surveys show the main reasons include lack of training time, concerns about reliability, and limited access to tools. 3.细节理解题。根据Looking Ahead标题下的“One example is the AI “traffic light” that teachers could share with students to help make it clear on which parts of a particular assignment students could turn to AI for help.(一个例子是人工智能“交通灯”,教师可以与学生分享,以帮助明确在特定作业的哪些部分学生可以求助于人工智能)”以及“Green means students may use AI with citation;yellow means limited use;and red means no AI allowed. These tools help integrate AI into daily learning while encouraging proper use.(绿色表示学生可以在引用的情况下使用人工智能;黄色表示有限使用;红色表示不允许使用人工智能。这些工具有助于将人工智能融入日常学习,同时鼓励正确使用)”可知,人工智能“交通灯”系统指导学生正确使用人工智能。故选D。

10.推理判断题。根据倒数第三段“Many people argue that the holiday should celebrate all past Presidents. They feel Lincoln should be honoured for his role in preserving the nation during the Civil War and helping to free slaves. 15.推理判断题。根据最后一段最后两句“As one researcher who is working on the project explains, “Appreciating one’s own cultural heritage is very important for understanding oneself. Appreciating the cultural heritage of other countries is very important for international communication and understanding.”“正如一位参与该项目的研究人员所解释的那样,“欣赏自己的文化遗产对于了解自己非常重要。欣赏其他国家的文化遗产对国际交流和理解非常重要。””可以看出,这位研究者支持人们欣赏莫高窟这样的文化遗产以加强国际交流和理解,这是积极正确的态度,因此我(读者)同意其观点。故选B项。

AI Teaching in Louisa Schools: A Mixed Picture
While less than half of the teachers nationwide have received AI training, Louisa County schools are embracing artificial intelligence in education. According to district data, 70%of Louisa teachers now use AI tools at least weekly-far above the national average reported in a recent EdWeek Research Center survey.
(A report carried out nationwide released by the Center for Democracy and Technology)
Tools and Guidance in Action
The district has actively supported this growth. After teacher feedback called for clearer direction, Louisa developed practical AI guidelines and adopted SchoolAI, a platform designed for lesson planning and student activities. Trainings and a shared AI resource center have helped teachers integrate technology into classrooms.
Challenges Remain
Still, challenges remain. Some Louisa teachers do not use AI at all. Surveys show the main reasons include lack of training time, concerns about reliability, and limited access to tools. As one Trevilians Elementary teacher noted, practicing alone is very different from using AI with students.
Student reactions are also mixed. Some worry AI could “take over the world,” while others appreciate its help as a learning assistant. Teachers like Marcia Flora are addressing fears by explaining that “AI is just one tool” and encouraging critical thinking.
Looking Ahead
Louisa continues to adjust its approach. One example is the AI “traffic light” that teachers could share with students to help make it clear on which parts of a particular assignment students could turn to AI for help.
Green means students may use AI with citation; yellow means limited use; and red means no AI allowed. These tools help integrate AI into daily learning while encouraging proper use.
As the technology develops, Louisa’s experience offers a real-time model of how schools can prepare students for a tech-driven future.
1. What percentage of the teachers nationwide are using AI in the classroom?
A.24%. B.61%. C.63%. D.70%.
2. Why do some Louisa teachers avoid using AI?
A.They believe it will take over the world. B.They feel unprepared to integrate AI effectively.
C.They feel uncomfortable to adopt AI fully. D.They find the students depend too much on AI.
3. What does the AI “traffic light” system do?
A.It limits teachers’ use of AI in lessons. B.It controls the Internet speed in classrooms.
C.It is used to teach students about road safety. D.It guides students on proper AI use.

One day in elementary school, a friend asked me “What are you eating?” as she glanced at my lunchbox. “It smells,” she said, nose crinkled.
I was eating bhindi roti, my favorite Indian snack, which my mom had packed for me. But feeling embarrassed for having a “smelly” lunch and wanting to fit in, I quietly shut my lunchbox. That day, I went hungry.
Most days after that, lunchtime at school felt like a battle. If I wasn’t trying to hide my lunch or sneak quick bites when no one was looking, I’d insist on bringing in the same peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich as the other kids. My mom, who didn’t grow up eating American food, tried her best, but the sandwiches never looked, or tasted, as good as the food I devoured (津津有味地吃) at home.
I didn’t know that I wasn’t alone. Many kids with immigrant parents encounter (遭遇) what’s known as “the lunchbox moment” at school: the experience of being judged for bringing in food considered culturally different and so being made to feel like an outsider.
For this article, I talked with kids who could relate. But they also surprised me:They dealt with “the lunchbox moment” differently than I did. For example, Satya Singh, 6, who takes her mom’s Indian cooking to lunch most days, told me that one day a classmate said that her aloo, or potatoes, looked like poop. Another time, someone said that the dal, or lentils, looked like “throw up”. The next day, Satya brought enough dal to share with her entire class — and they loved it. From then on, she says, “My teacher at school made a rule: Don’t yuck someone’s yum.”
Looking back, I wish I’d had the wisdom of Satya and offered my friend a bite of my lunch, or just told her it was delicious — especially because now, as an adult, I see that Indian food is universally loved by my friends. Some even try to cook Indian lentils or chickpeas at home! And when I’m hungry, guess what? I miss my mom’s bhindi roti and her care in making it for me. Food is an expression of culture, tradition, family and love. And that’s something to celebrate, not hide.
4.Why did the writer go hungry one day in elementary school?
A. She didn’t like her smelly lunch. B. Her classmates ate up her bhindi roti.
C. Her mom didn’t prepare lunch for her. D. She skipped her lunch to fit in with others.
5.What can we infer about the writer according to the passage?

A. She threw away her lunch box.
B. She asked her teacher to make a rule.
C. She ate American food instead of her mom’s Indian cooking.
D. She brought more Indian cooking to share with her classmates.
7.What does the author want to tell us?
A. Food is something to celebrate, not hide.
B. Never should you yuck someone’s yum in any case.
C. Indian food is delicious and universally appreciated.
D. The lunchbox moment is when one can taste different foods.

This Monday, the nation will start to celebrate Presidents’ Day, just seven days before George Washington’s birthday. Everyone agrees that day is a holiday, but is it just to celebrate George Washington’s birthday? What about Abraham Lincoln? Some government offices call it Presidents’ Day. Others say the holiday is officially Washington’s birthday. Confused yet?
George Washington was elected the country’s first President on April 30, 1789. Soon after, Americans began publicly celebrating his birthday. Presidential historians say the actual date of George Washington’s birth is February 11, 1732. But a change in the calendar system 20 years later shifted all dates, making Washington’s birthday February 22, which is now well accepted. In 1879, Congress made Washington’s birthday an official federal holiday. It was the first federal holiday to celebrate an individual’s birthday. In 1968, Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, which moved the holiday to the third Monday in February. The new law didn’t change the holiday’s name. It was still called Washington’s Birthday, even though some lawmakers wanted to call it Presidents’ Day to include Abraham Lincoln, whose actual birthday is February 12.
Many people argue that the holiday should celebrate all past Presidents. They feel Lincoln should be honoured for his role in preserving the nation during the Civil War and helping to free slaves. Others feel the holiday should only honour Washington, the country’s first President. They say shifting the focus away from Washington would mean future generations of kids wouldn’t know about the Father of Our Country.
Laws have been introduced in Congress over the years to require use of the term “George Washington’s Birthday”. But none of those laws have been passed. Meanwhile, many state governments and school districts now use the term “Presidents’ Day”. Many stores also use it to promote holiday sales.
Should the holiday honour Washington, Washington and Lincoln, or all past Presidents? Write to tell us what you think.
