Cai Jiayun always says he is just a common person. However, the 25-year-old Chinese winter sports player has surprised the whole country with his outstanding talent and amazing achievements. He won China's first gold medal at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Paralympics (残奥会) on Saturday. This historic gold was also his first championship in top-level international competitions.
His road to success was full of setbacks. An accident cost him his left hand at the age of 2. At the age of 16, he left his hometown and became a member of the Yunnan Provincial Paralympic training team. Before that, he had never received any professional training about skiing. Born in Yunnan, a warm southern province with almost no natural snow, he had great trouble getting used to freezing cold and snowy conditions at the very beginning. Besides, painful injuries (伤病) from hard training troubled him from time to time in his early years.
The 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics was his first official Paralympic competition. To people's surprise, he failed to get gold and only got two silver medals and one bronze medal during the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics. Before this race, Chinese players also had no gold in Milan.
In this important Milan race in 2026, he stayed calm under great pressure and spared no effort to perform. Thanks to his amazing shooting skills, he got into the leading position and kept the advantage until the finishing line. Right after the award (颁奖) ceremony, he shared the joy with teammates by holding China's national flag side by side.
His inspiring victory has lifted the spirits of all Chinese disabled athletes (运动员). Looking ahead, Cai plans to take part in more international competitions and aims to (旨在) win more medals for our motherland.

What can you buy for one yuan these days? A bottle of water or maybe an egg? In some cities and villages across China, that same small amount (数量) of money can offer something priceless: a seat at the theater.
The One-Yuan Theater program is successful in China. For just one yuan, common people, from factory workers, farmers, to retirees (退休人员) can walk into theaters. There, they watch professional operas, dramas, concerts, and dance performances. Many of these people had probably never set foot in a playhouse before. Now, they enjoy the performing arts as part of their everyday life.
Why does this matter? First, it helps protect culture. Many performances include traditional art forms which are at risk of disappearing. The One-Yuan Theater program is a great way to pass down these traditions. Second, it respects both art and people. One yuan is an unbelievably low price for a theater ticket, but it's different from free cultural events. Paying one yuan reminds everyone that art is worth our time and respect.
Some performances in big cities can cost several hundred yuan, even several thousand yuan, but the One-Yuan Theater program quietly shows that art is not a luxury (奢侈品). It belongs to everyone, not just the rich.
The program is popular across the country. In Caoxian County, Shandong Province, over 200,000 people have enjoyed over 400 one-yuan shows in six years. In Nantong, Jiangsu Province, theaters connect performances with volunteer work. They help those in need while keeping seats full.
The program may not be perfect, but it sends a clear message. Culture grows when we treat it as shared wealth. One yuan at a time, our country has shown how a society keeps its spirit alive.
7. What makes the One-Yuan Theater program special, according to paragraph 2?
A. It makes art easier to reach for common people.
B. It only provides traditional performances.
C. It uses modern technology in performances.
8. What does the third paragraph mainly talk about?
A. The history of the program.
B. The importance of the program.
C. The value of traditional art forms.
9. Which of the following may the writer agree with?
A. Fewer people like to go to the theater today.
B. Art performances are expected to be totally free.
C. Art should be valued by all members of society.
10. What is the main purpose of the passage?
A. To compare traditional and modern performances.
B. To introduce a successful cultural program.
C. To encourage people to perform Chinese art forms.

第四部分 综合技能(共两节,满分25分)
第一节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面的短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
“Aim for the moon and even if you miss, you will land among the stars” is a common saying. It shows that we shouldn’t be afraid to fail and should try to be excellent. In this way, we can stay in a higher place than where we start, even if we fail. Many great people in the world love fighting for excellence. One of them is Tong Dizhou, the father of China’s clone (克隆).
Tong came from a poor family in Zhejiang Province and didn’t go to high school until 17. So he became the oldest student in the class. What was worse, he faced the risk of not being allowed to continue his study because he couldn’t catch up with others. However, he didn’t give up. He studied hard and managed to take the lead among his classmates. As a result, he graduated with the highest grade.
Tong is remembered and respected for the outstanding achievement of cross-species (跨物种的) cloning in fish. In 1963, Tong produced the world’s first clone fish. Ten years later, Tong created the first cross-species clone fish. In the whole process, challenges and failures didn’t prevent him. Thanks to his pioneering research, Chinese scientists developed fish-breeding (鱼类养殖) skills.
Should we “aim for the moon” or simply aim for what is easily achieved? Tong gave us a good answer. He shows us that even if we face failure, working towards excellence can be a stepping stone to great success. Nowadays, many young people fear failure. They prefer to take an easier path. They avoid taking on challenges and are easily beaten by stress. Actually, fighting for excellence and not being afraid of failure can help people better themselves.
