Ocean and seawater make up over 97% of all Earth’s water. They are home to countless living things. However, many of these living things are rapidly dying out, mostly due to the pollution at the bottom of the ocean. Some die from eating waste in the ocean, some are entangled (缠绕) in bags, plastic rings or other waste.
Poisonous waste in the ocean can cause cancer in humans because of something called “microplastics”. Though microplastics are less than 5 millimeters (毫米) in length, they are very harmful to ocean life. The microplastics are eaten by some fish and the polluted fish might be eaten by people. Some scientists believe it can cause cancer in humans.
Ocean waste can also cause human injury. Beaches are the most popular vacation places around the world. Visitors to the beach often throw waste into the ocean. The waste, such as broken glass bottles and sharp cans, is finally carried to beaches. People may get injured by stepping on them while playing on the beach.
To help prevent these problems, we all have to do our parts. Less pollution starts at home. Instead of using disposable (一次性的) plastic bags and bottles, we should try to use things that can be recycled and be friendly to our environment. Moreover, we can volunteer to pick up waste along a nearby beach.

【答案】例文:
Dear David,
Glad to hear from you. Now I’m writing to talk about your sleep problem. As you know, sleep is very important to your health. Good sleep can help you keep fit and be in a good mood. I think developing a good sleep habit will improve your sleep quality.
Firstly, you’d better keep a regular sleep schedule. Staying up late will break your body clock and make it hard to sleep. Additionally, it is necessary to avoid using electronics at bedtime. Devices like mobile phones not only do harm to your eyes but also make you too excited to sleep. Lastly, a nice sleeping environment is a must. A quiet, dark and comfortable bedroom will help you get relaxed and fall asleep easily.
May you sleep well. Looking forward to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
