Passage 1
We are often led to believe that nothing is ever enough in life. 1 . That persistent focus on what you lack is called a scarcity mindset, a negative mental state that fosters pessimism, competitiveness, and a sense of falling behind.
One trendy opposite to the scarcity mindset is the “abundance mindset.” 2 . Wishful thinking — that if you just believe you have money, it’ll appear in your hands — can be equally unhelpful. Instead, breaking free from a scarcity mindset is surprisingly simple.
Start by practicing gratitude — being more intentional about noticing the good things you already have, whether it’s a supportive friend, a cozy apartment, or even upcoming holiday plans with family.
You can also challenge scarcity mindset thoughts (“I’ll never make enough money,” or “I’ll never have enough time”) with logic. Write down examples of when you got a promotion, say, or finished a big project ahead of schedule. Reflecting on these moments can remind you that your scarcity thinking isn’t always accurate. 3 .
4 . That means redirecting energy from complaints and actions: If you’re feeling stuck professionally, for instance, make it your objective to update your resume or network with at least one new contact each week. If it’s your dating life that feels stalled, maybe it’s time to try a new app or reevaluate that toxic relationship that’s holding you back.
A scarcity mindset doesn’t have to define your life. 5 , your world should feel fuller, brighter, and far less restricting.
A.And it always works
B.Due to your impatience
C.With these little, intentional shifts
D.Adopt a goal-oriented perspective
E.Yet blind optimism isn’t realistic for most
F.Ultimately, carry out your duties with professionalism
G.Not enough hours in the day or money in our bank accounts
【答案】1.G 2.E 3.A 4.D 5.C
1.上文“We are often led to believe that nothing is ever enough in life. (我们常被引导认为生活中没有什么是足够的。)”提出人们普遍认为生活中永远不够,空格处应是对此的具体举例说明。G项“Not enough hours in the day or money in our bank accounts (一天中时间不够,或银行账户里的钱不够)”正是对“nothing is ever enough”的具体阐释,与上文衔接紧密,同时引出下文“That persistent focus on what you lack is called a scarcity mindset (这种对你所缺乏之物的持续关注被称为稀缺心态)”对稀缺心态的定义。
2.上文“One trendy opposite to the scarcity mindset is the “abundance mindset.” (稀缺心态的一个流行对立面是“富足心态”。)”介绍了富足心态,下文“Wishful thinking — that if you just believe you have money, it’ll appear in your hands — can be equally unhelpful. (一厢情愿的想法——如果你只是相信你有钱,钱就会出现在你手中——同样没有帮助。)”指出盲目乐观也不行。E项“Yet blind optimism isn’t realistic for most (然而盲目乐观对大多数人来说并不现实)”中“Yet”表示转折,和上文正好构成转折关系,并且“blind optimism”与下文的“Wishful thinking”相呼应,说明富足心态虽好但盲目乐观也不可取。
3.上文“Reflecting on these moments can remind you that your scarcity thinking isn’t always accurate. (反思这些时刻可以提醒你,你的稀缺想法并不总是准确的。)”说明用逻辑挑战稀缺心态的方法有效,空格处应是对该方法效果的总结。A项“And it always works (而且它总是有效的)”是对上文方法的肯定总结,与上文构成递进关系。
4.空格处位于段首,应是该段的主题句。下文“That means redirecting energy from complaints and actions: If you’re feeling stuck professionally, for instance, make it your objective to update your resume or network with at least one new contact each week. (这意味着要将精力从抱怨和行动中转移出来:比如说,如果你在职业上感到停滞不前,那么你的目标就是每周更新一次简历,并与至少一位新的人士建立联系。)”说明要把精力从抱怨转向设定目标并采取行动。D项“Adopt a goal-oriented perspective (采取以目标为导向的视角)”正好概括了本段核心内容,即从抱怨转向以目标为导向的行动。
5.上文“A scarcity mindset doesn’t have to define your life. (稀缺心态不必定义你的生活。)”总结全文观点,下文“your world should feel fuller, brighter, and far less restricting. (你的世界应该会感觉更充实、更明亮、限制更少。)”说明改变后的结果。空格处需要一个条件状语来连接上下文。C项“With these little, intentional shifts (通过这些小小的、有意识的转变)”中“these little, intentional shifts”指代上文提到的练习感恩、用逻辑挑战消极想法、采取目标导向视角等方法,与下文的积极结果构成条件关系。
Passage 2
Some lucky people are born with artistic talent, while others have to study to become experts in art. 1 Some people just let their creative urges out more easily than others. If the artistic path is calling you, begin the journey with some tiny steps and follow them.
Try a generous selection of different mediums of art. Everyone can be an artist. You just need to express your creative ideas in a great way. So, if there’s a specific type of art you’d like to learn more about, go for it, and don’t be afraid to try other mediums as well. 2
Do your research and learn the basics. You can read books and articles about the medium(s) you have chosen to focus on. 3 If you feel like you need a little help, you can always improve your research with an art class.
4 Notice how the light changes during the day, how colors affect you, and how an interaction makes you feel. Take the time to become fully aware of your surroundings and let what you see enter your work.
Seek out the opinions of others. Don’t be afraid to show your work to people. 5 Maybe you have a hard time drawing hands, or you can’t seem to get the handle of a clay cup quite right. A second pair of eyes will help you see what makes it work.
A.Develop a consistent habit of creating art daily.
B.Besides, you can also watch instructional videos.
C.Ask a few people you trust what they think of your art.
D.Observe the world around you with the eye of an artist.
E.Whichever path you are on, be aware that everyone is an artist.
F.One of the best ways to learn is by studying the works of others.
G.The most basic forms of art are drawing, painting, photography and sculpting.
1.由上文“Some lucky people are born with artistic talent, while others have to study to become experts in art.(有些人天生拥有艺术天赋,而另一些人则需要学习才能成为艺术领域的行家。)”可知,前文介绍了两种走向艺术的方式,E项“Whichever path you are on, be aware that everyone is an artist.(无论你走哪条路,都要明白人人都是艺术家。)”
2.由上文“So, if there’s a specific type of art you’d like to learn more about, go for it, and don’t be afraid to try other mediums as well.(所以,如果你想深入了解某一类特定艺术,那就大胆去学,也别怕尝试其他创作形式。)”可知,前文建议尝试各类艺术创作形式,G项“The most basic forms of art are drawing, painting, photography and sculpting.(最基础的艺术形式有素描、绘画、摄影和雕塑。)”
3.由上文“You can read books and articles about the medium (s) you have chosen to focus on.(你可以阅读和所选艺术形式相关的书籍与文章。)”可知,此处介绍学习基础知识的途径,B项 “Besides, you can also watch instructional videos.(此外,你还可以观看教学视频。)”
4.由下文“Notice how the light changes during the day, how colors affect you, and how an interaction makes you feel.(留意一天中光线的变化、色彩带给你的感受以及人际互动带来的情绪。)”可知,后文讲述用心观察周遭事物,D项“Observe the world around you with the eye of an artist.(用艺术家的眼光观察身边的世界。)”
5.由上文“Don’t be afraid to show your work to people.(不要害怕把作品展示给他人。)”可知,前文建议主动展示作品、听取他人看法,C项“Ask a few people you trust what they think of your art.(询问几位你信任的人对你作品的看法。)”
Passage 3
Today, the “I don’t care” attitude is becoming increasingly popular. Phrases like “I don’t care what anybody thinks” are often blindly used to express freedom and relief. 1 Understanding when to adopt this mindset can make a great difference.
The “I don’t care” attitude can be quite beneficial when it motivates us to persevere, especially when others have given up. 2 J. K. Rowling, for instance, faced widespread doubt when proposing Harry Potter, but she kept polishing her novel without worrying about criticism. It was her persistence in crafting a magical world that eventually brought her success. As you can see in Rowling’s example, ignoring external doubts can actually help us stay focused on our own goals.
3 This happens when someone acts out of stubbornness (固执) or a desire to shift blame, or acts selfishly, focusing solely on their own desires while ignoring how interconnected people’s needs are. In the case of recent social media algorithm scandals (算法丑闻), tech giants repeatedly ignored internal researchers’ warnings about mental health harms to teenagers, claiming “not their department” Finally, it has caused uncontrollable rising anxiety and self-harm rates among young users. 4
Therefore, it’s crucial to reflect on why we adopt the “I don’t care” attitude. Are we motivated by confidence in our decisions, or are we simply avoiding challenges? 5 There are times when it’s crucial to care deeply about others, the truth, and personal growth. At other times, it’s equally important to remain indifferent to negativity, distractions, or unnecessary pressures. By carefully choosing when to adopt the “I don’t care” attitude, we can lead more fulfilling lives.
A.The key is balance.
B.Motivation comes first.
C.Great achievements tend to come from ignoring doubters.
D.When no one takes responsibility, it is everyone’s disaster.
E.This mindset, however, can also have negative consequences.
F.Others, however, are always concerned about everyone’s feelings.
G.While this attitude can be liberating, it also comes with potential risks.
【答案】1.G 2.C 3.E 4.D 5.A
1.由上文“Today, the “I don’t care” attitude is becoming increasingly popular. Phrases like “I don’t care what anybody thinks” are often blindly used to express freedom and relief. (如今,“我不在乎”的态度越来越流行。像“我不在乎别人怎么想”这样的话经常被盲目地用来表达自由和解脱。)”及下文“Understanding when to adopt this mindset can make a great difference. (理解何时采用这种心态会产生很大的影响。)”可知,上文讲这种态度流行且让人放松,下文提醒要理性看待,本空需转折点明态度虽洒脱但有潜在风险。G选项“虽然这种态度可以让人感到自由,但它也伴随着潜在的风险。”能承上启下,符合语境。
2.由上文“The “I don’t care” attitude can be quite beneficial when it motivates us to persevere, especially when others have given up.(当“我不在乎”的态度激励我们坚持下去时,尤其是当别人已经放弃时,这种态度是非常有益的。)”及下文“J. K. Rowling, for instance, faced widespread doubt when proposing Harry Potter, but she kept polishing her novel without worrying about criticism. It was her persistence in crafting a magical world that eventually brought her success. (例如,J.K.罗琳在提出《哈利·波特》时面临着广泛的质疑,但她没有担心批评,继续打磨她的小说。正是她坚持创造一个魔法世界,最终给她带来了成功。)”可知,上文描述了“我不在乎”这种态度的益处,下文举了J.K.罗琳的例子,本空应进一步说明这种益处,即伟大的成就往往来自于忽视怀疑者,C选项“伟大的成就往往来自于忽视怀疑者。”能承上启下,符合语境。
3.由第二段讲述这种心态的益处,以及下文“This happens when someone acts out of stubbornness or a desire to shift blame, or acts selfishly.(人会因固执、推卸责任或自私产生不良行为。)”
4.由上文“This happens when someone acts out of stubbornness (固执) or a desire to shift blame, or acts selfishly, focusing solely on their own desires while ignoring how interconnected people’s needs are. In the case of recent social media algorithm scandals (算法丑闻), tech giants repeatedly ignored internal researchers’ warnings about mental health harms to teenagers, claiming “not their department” Finally, it has caused uncontrollable rising anxiety and self-harm rates among young users.(这种情况发生在某人出于固执或想要推卸责任而行动,或者自私地行动,只关注自己的欲望,而忽视人们的需求是如何相互关联的。在最近的社交媒体算法丑闻中,科技巨头多次无视内部研究人员关于青少年心理健康危害的警告,声称“不是他们的部门”,最终,这导致了年轻用户中焦虑和自残率不可控制地上升。)”可知,上文描述了“我不在乎”这种态度的负面影响,本空应进一步说明这种影响的严重性,即当没有人承担责任时,就是每个人的灾难,D选项“当没有人承担责任时,就是每个人的灾难。”能承接上文,符合语境。
5.由上文“Therefore, it’s crucial to reflect on why we adopt the “I don’t care” attitude. Are we motivated by confidence in our decisions, or are we simply avoiding challenges? (因此,反思我们为什么采取“我不在乎”的态度至关重要。我们是出于对自己决定的信心,还是仅仅在逃避挑战?)”及下文“There are times when it’s crucial to care deeply about others, the truth, and personal growth. At other times, it’s equally important to remain indifferent to negativity, distractions, or unnecessary pressures. (有时候,关心他人、真相和个人成长是至关重要的。在其他时候,对消极情绪、干扰或不必要的压力保持冷漠同样重要。)”可知,上文说明了反思我们为什么采取“我不在乎”的态度很重要,下文说明有时关心他人很重要,有时保持冷漠同样重要,本空应强调要把握分寸,说明关键是要平衡。A选项“关键是要平衡。”能承上启下,符合语境。
Passage 4
There is much debate nowadays as to what makes up a healthy diet. For example, scientists have insisted for years that a big enemy of health is fatty food. 1 However, there is increasing evidence that the real driver of poor health is not so much fatty food, as it is sugar. Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans. This is true regardless of how healthy the rest of their diet might be. Put more simply, while people continue to argue over whether or not fatty food is dangerous, we already know that sugar is a killer.
2 The average American gets 1/3 of his or her sugar through sweet drinks alone. The American Heart Association recommends that we limit ourselves to less than 100-150 calories a day from sugar, which is less than what is usually contained in one can of sweet drink or in a single candy bar. In other words, if you want to be healthy, you have to cut down on desserts, and cut out sweet drinks altogether.
Beyond this, you can keep healthy by consuming different categories of fresh foods, especially fruit and vegetables, which are full of vitamins and fibre, rather than processed foods. 3 Besides this, it is also important to have some meat, beans, or dairy products in your diet, as they provide the necessary protein for strong bones and muscle growth. As with everything in life, moderation is key. The ideal diet is a balanced one, without too much or too little of any one thing.
Finally, a fundamental key to healthy eating is to eat slowly. It takes about twenty minutes from the time you start eating for your brain to tell your body that you are full. What this means is that people who chew too quickly end up eating too much food because they still feel hungry. Eating slowly also allows your body to digest your food better, and will allow you to enjoy your food more. 4 It is also better to eat a modest amount of food each time, rather than to eat a lot in one meal, and then a little in the next.
There is no one trick to healthy eating. Rather, healthy eating starts with having a healthy attitude towards food. 5 If you are using food mostly for nutrition, then you are on the right track with your diet. However, if food has become the centre of your life, you might be on the road to bad health. It is up to you to decide how you want to live, and to make the right decisions about your diet.
A.Much of this extra sugar comes from sweets and sweet drinks.
B.Many people are worried about their daily diet quality.
C.Processed foods often contain less nutrition, while having higher quantities of sugar, salt, and fat than fresh ingredients.
D.In addition, studies show that consistent eating habits are better for our health.
E.A proper eating habit helps people stay away from diseases.
F.One question you can ask yourself is, “Do I eat to live, or live to eat?”
G.They remind people to keep away from fatty food in daily life.
【答案】1.G 2.A 3.C 4.D 5.F
1.上文“There is much debate nowadays as to what makes up a healthy diet. For example, scientists have insisted for years that a big enemy of health is fatty food.(如今关于什么是健康饮食存在很多争论。例如,多年来科学家一直坚持认为健康的一大敌人是高脂肪食物)”指出科学家长期以来认为高脂肪食物危害健康,G选项“They remind people to keep away from fatty food in daily life.(他们提醒人们在日常生活中远离高脂肪食物)”指出科学家提醒人们避免高脂肪食物;下文“However, there is increasing evidence that the real driver of poor health is not so much fatty food, as it is sugar.(然而,越来越多的证据表明,健康状况不佳的真正驱动力与其说是高脂肪食物,不如说是糖分)”中的“However”与上文构成转折,引出新的观点——糖分才是真正的健康杀手,上下文语意连贯。
2.上一段“Put more simply, while people continue to argue over whether or not fatty food is dangerous, we already know that sugar is a killer.(更简单地说,当人们继续争论高脂肪食物是否危险时,我们已经知道糖是杀手)”明确指出糖分对健康的危害,下文“The average American gets 1/3 of his or her sugar through sweet drinks alone.(普通美国人仅通过含糖饮料就摄入了三分之一的糖分)”用具体数据说明糖分摄入的主要来源。
3.上文“Beyond this, you can keep healthy by consuming different categories of fresh foods, especially fruit and vegetables, which are full of vitamins and fibre, rather than processed foods.(除此之外,你可以通过摄入不同种类的新鲜食物来保持健康,尤其是富含维生素和纤维的水果和蔬菜,而不是加工食品)”建议多吃新鲜食物、少吃加工食品,C选项“Processed foods often contain less nutrition, while having higher quantities of sugar, salt, and fat than fresh ingredients.(与新鲜食材相比,加工食品通常营养更少,而糖、盐和脂肪含量更高)”承接上文,解释了为什么要避免加工食品——因为它们营养价值低且含有更多的糖、盐和脂肪,为上文“rather than processed foods”提供了科学依据,上下文语意连贯。
4.上文“Eating slowly also allows your body to digest your food better, and will allow you to enjoy your food more.(细嚼慢咽还能让你的身体更好地消化食物,并让你更能享受食物)”指出了细嚼慢咽的好处,下文“It is also better to eat a modest amount of food each time, rather than to eat a lot in one meal, and then a little in the next.(每次适量进食也比一顿吃很多、下一顿吃一点要好)”进一步提出了适量进食的建议。D选项“In addition, studies show that consistent eating habits are better for our health.(此外,研究表明,规律的饮食习惯对我们的健康更有益)”承接上文,在细嚼慢咽的基础上补充说明规律进食的健康益处,与下文“适量进食”相呼应,上下文语意连贯。
5.上文“There is no one trick to healthy eating. Rather, healthy eating starts with having a healthy attitude towards food.(健康饮食没有单一的诀窍。相反,健康饮食始于对食物的健康态度)”强调健康饮食的关键在于对食物的正确态度,F选项“One question you can ask yourself is, “Do I eat to live, or live to eat?”(你可以问自己一个问题:“我是为了活着而吃,还是为了吃而活着?”)”承接上文,提出了一个具体的问题来帮助读者审视自己对食物的态度;下文“If you are using food mostly for nutrition, then you are on the right track with your diet. However, if food has become the centre of your life, you might be on the road to bad health.(如果你主要为了营养而吃,那么你的饮食方向是正确的。然而,如果食物已经成为你生活的中心,你可能正走在通往不健康的道路上)”进一步解释了两种不同态度的后果,与F选项中的问题形成问答关系,上下文语意连贯。
Passage 5
Life is full of unexpected setbacks and tough moments. No one can avoid facing hardship throughout their journey. 1 It may leave you feeling lost, exhausted and ready to give up. Yet adversity is never a dead end, but a chance for self-growth.
One of the best ways to deal with hard times is to accept reality bravely. Many people waste energy complaining or refusing to admit what has happened, which only traps them in sadness and stops them from moving forward. Instead, we should choose to face reality calmly. Acceptance doesn’t mean giving in. 2 .
3 When your mind is filled with negative thoughts, take time to do small joyful things: take a walk, listen to soft music or keep a diary. These simple acts can ease stress and clear your mind. They help you regain emotional balance step by step.
It is also wise to reflect on your experiences after going through difficulties. Every failure and hardship carries valuable lessons. 4 By learning from the past, you can become more resilient and better prepared for future challenges.
Never rush to blame yourself when things go wrong. Adversity is part of life, not a sign of your weakness. 5 With patience and a positive mindset, you will finally walk out of the dark and become a stronger version of yourself.
A.You can always find joy in little daily things.
B.Staying positive emotionally also matters a lot.
C.Facing endless trouble is never easy for anyone.
D.It matters how we choose to respond to difficulties.
E.It means you calm down to face the problem wisely.
F.You have the inner strength to fight through hard days.
G.Reflection turns painful experiences into precious wealth.
1.由上文“Life is full of unexpected setbacks and tough moments. No one can avoid facing hardship throughout their journey.(人生充满意外挫折与艰难时刻,没有人能在前行路上避开困境。)”和下文“It may leave you feeling lost, exhausted and ready to give up. Yet adversity is never a dead end, but a chance for self-growth.(这可能会让你感到失落、疲惫,并准备放弃。然而,逆境从来不是死胡同,而是自我成长的机会。)”可知,空格处承上启下,说明遭遇困境的感受。C项“Facing endless trouble is never easy for anyone.(面对接连不断的困境,对任何人来说都绝非易事。)”
E项“It means you calm down to face the problem wisely.(它代表你冷静下来,理智地面对问题。)”
3.由下文“When your mind is filled with negative thoughts, take time to do small joyful things: take a walk, listen to soft music or keep a diary. These simple acts can ease stress and clear your mind.(当你满脑子都是消极想法时,花点时间做些微小却快乐的事:散散步、听听舒缓的音乐,或是写写日记。这些简单的小事能缓解压力、理清思绪。)”可知,空格处为本段主旨句,强调保持积极情绪的重要性。B项“Staying positive emotionally also matters a lot.(保持情绪乐观也十分重要。)”
4.由上文“It is also wise to reflect on your experiences after going through difficulties. Every failure and hardship carries valuable lessons.(经历困境后反思过往是明智之举,每一次失败与磨难都蕴含宝贵经验。)”
5.由上文“Adversity is part of life, not a sign of your weakness.(逆境是人生的一部分,并非你软弱的证明。)”以及下文“With patience and a positive mindset, you will finally walk out of the dark and become a stronger version of yourself.(心怀耐心、保持积极心态,你终会走出低谷,蜕变成更强大的自己。)” F项“You have the inner strength to fight through hard days.(你拥有渡过难关的内在力量。)”

Passage 1
Many artists consider busking (街头表演) to be one of the easiest ways to share their talent with audiences while making a living at the same time. The number of buskers is incredibly difficult to establish since most of them don’t have an official permit. 1
On the one hand, busking is seen as a form of street entertainment or public performance. On the other hand, it is considered a form of begging, and is, therefore, legally and culturally unacceptable in many parts of the world. 2 In many cases, all you need to get into the busking scene is an instrument and a container to collect donations from passers-by.
3 The answer usually depends on where you are. In many places like Birmingham and Venice, busking can lead to arrest, or fee payments. However, there are many places where busking is an everyday practice like London, Dublin, Berlin and Marrakesh.
To guarantee a safe busking experience, buskers should obey some basic rules. It’s crucial to dress well to make it clear that you are a performer, not a beggar. 4 You must also ensure you are not blocking paths, sidewalks or shop entrances; otherwise, you’ll be disturbing the public space. Most importantly, focus on songs that are familiar to the audience. Older songs, in particular, often lead to more generous donations because they bring back fond memories for passers-by. Finally, choose your locations wisely. 5 These include stadiums, historical sites, theme parks and zoos. Instead, focus on areas with high foot traffic like subway stations.
A.This attracts audiences and commands their respect.
B.These street performances are likely to be made illegal.
C.And it is hard to track them as they’re constantly moving.
D.They also view busking as an organic way to connect with their fans.
E.The worldwide popularity of busking can be explained by its ease of entry.
F.You should avoid places where people have already paid for entertainment.
G.The debate on whether busking is a legal or an illegal practice is a hot potato.
【答案】1.C 2.E 3.G 4.A 5.F
1.根据上文“The number of buskers is incredibly difficult to establish since most of them don't have an official permit.(街头艺人的数量极难确定,因为他们大多数人没有官方许可证)”可推知,前文已说明难以确定数量的一个原因,空处应承接上文继续说明另一原因。选项C“And it is hard to track them as they’re constantly moving.(而且很难追踪他们,因为他们不断移动)”中的“hard to track”与上文“difficult to establish”相呼应,进一步解释了街头艺人数量难以统计的原因。
2.根据下文“In many cases, all you need to get into the busking scene is an instrument and a container to collect donations from passers-by.(在很多情况下,进入街头表演圈所需的只是一样乐器和一个用来收集路人捐赠的容器)”可推知,本段意在说明街头表演的门槛很低。选项E“The worldwide popularity of busking can be explained by its ease of entry.(街头表演在全球的流行可归因其易于进入)”引出下文,下文的“all you need...”
3.根据下文“The answer usually depends on where you are.(答案通常取决于你在哪里)”可推知,空处应提出一个需要回答的问题。选项G“The debate on whether busking is a legal or an illegal practice is a hot potato.(关于街头表演是合法还是非法的争论是个烫手山芋)”提出了街头表演合法性的争议,而下文的“The answer”正是对此争论的回应,说明不同地区有不同规定。
4.根据上文“It’s crucial to dress well to make it clear that you are a performer, not a beggar.(穿着得体至关重要,以表明你是表演者,而不是乞丐)”可推知,空处应说明穿着得体的效果或作用。选项A“This attracts audiences and commands their respect.(这能吸引观众并赢得他们的尊重)”中的“This”指代前文的“dress well”,说明了良好着装带来的积极效果,与上下文衔接紧密。
5.根据下文“These include stadiums, historical sites, theme parks and zoos. Instead, focus on areas with high foot traffic like subway stations. (这些包括体育场、历史遗迹、主题公园和动物园。相反,应专注于地铁站等高人流区域)”可推知,空处应指出应避免某些特定场所。选项F“You should avoid places where people have already paid for entertainment.(你应该避开人们已经为娱乐付费的地方)”中的“places where people have already paid for entertainment”与下文列举的“stadiums, historical sites, theme parks and zoos”相对应,“These”即指代此类场所。
Passage 2
Cloud storage is a flexible and convenient way to store data with complete peace of mind. 1 This means you can store all your digital things remotely, without taking up space on your computer. There are two options available: public cloud storage allows you to share server space with other users; private cloud storage is the ideal choice for companies who want to have their data stored in their own environment.
2 Once you have registered and set up your account, you simply save your files via the internet using your username and password. This ensures your data remains secure and inaccessible to anyone else. Should you choose, you can put certain permissions in place, which makes it easy to share your data with your colleagues or your family.
When you sign up to cloud storage, you can choose the amount of space that you need. 3 You can store anything digital: all your files, videos and pictures. You will find this storage system very handy, regardless of whether you are saving family photographs or business documentation.
Is it better than your computer or an external drive? The answer is a definite yes. Computers crash all the time. 4 External hard drives can still break, or fail. Here you also have the added risk of misplacing it or having it stolen. There are so many advantages to cloud computing, from the ability to access your data from wherever, whenever, to not needing expensive external storage devices. 5
A.Cloud storage is very easy to use.
B.You will find cloud storage very cheap.
C.It enables you to store your data on Internet-based servers.
D.It requires professional training to manage data online.
E.This is the most common cause of lost work and memories.
F.You can start with a small amount and increase the storage size later on.
G.One disadvantage, however, is that you need internet to access files.
【答案】1.C 2.A 3.F 4.E 5.G
1.前文“Cloud storage is a flexible and convenient way to store data with complete peace of mind.( 云存储是一种灵活且便捷的数据存储方式,能让你安心无忧地保存数据。)”引出云存储概念,后文“This means you can store all your digital things remotely, without taking up space on your computer.( 这意味着你可以将所有数字资料远程存储,而无需占用电脑空间。)” C选项“It enables you to store your data on Internet-based servers.( 它让你能将数据存储在基于互联网的服务器上。)”
后文“Once you have registered and set up your account, you simply save your files via the internet using your username and password. This ensures your data remains secure and inaccessible to anyone else. Should you choose, you can put certain permissions in place, which makes it easy to share your data with your colleagues or your family.( 一旦完成注册并设置好账户,你只需通过互联网使用用户名和密码保存文件即可。这能确保你的数据安全且不被他人访问。如果你愿意,还可以设置某些权限,这样就能方便地与同事或家人分享你的数据。)”详细描述“注册账户→用账号密码保存文件→设置权限分享”的简单操作流程。A选项“Cloud storage is very easy to use.( 云存储非常容易使用。)”
3.前文“When you sign up to cloud storage, you can choose the amount of space that you need.( 在注册云存储服务时,你可以选择所需的空间大小。)”提到“注册时可以选择所需的存储空间大小”,后文“You can store anything digital: all your files, videos and pictures.( 你可以存储任何数字内容:所有的文件、视频和图片。)” F选项“You can start with a small amount and increase the storage size later on.( 你可以从小容量开始使用,之后再按需扩容。)”
4.前文“Computers crash all the time.( 电脑经常会出现故障。)”指出“电脑经常崩溃”,后文“External hard drives can still break, or fail.( 但外置硬盘也可能损坏或失效。)” E选项“This is the most common cause of lost work and memories.( 这是工作文件和珍贵记忆丢失的最常见原因。)”代词“This”精准指代前文“Computers crash all the time”,自然引出电脑本地存储的弊端。
5.前文“There are so many advantages to cloud computing, from the ability to access your data from wherever, whenever, to not needing expensive external storage devices.( 云计算有很多优点,比如可以随时随地访问您的数据,而且无需使用昂贵的外部存储设备。)” G选项“One disadvantage, however, is that you need internet to access files.(然而,它的一个缺点是需要联网才能访问文件。)”
Passage 3
Pedestrians (行人) have been walking faster in recent decades, according to a new study. 1 .
Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), led by architect professor Carlo Ratti, used artificial intelligence (AI) to study video footage (片段) of people walking in Boston, Philadelphia and New York. They compared clips filmed in 1978 — 1980 with new footage taken in the same spots in 2008 — 2010.
2 . By 2010, it had risen to 1.41 meters per second — about 15 percent faster. People walking slower than 0.5 meters per second were called “lingerer (逗留者)” and removed from the data. The number of lingerers fell by 14 percent over the same period.
Many people feel that life has become faster. 3 . Since around 2000, people have carried their social lives and work everywhere, and perhaps the constant stream of messages makes us move faster without realizing it. However, in 2010, fewer than 10 percent of pedestrians in the study were using phones, suggesting that phones are not the only reason for faster walking.
4 . Psychologists in the 1970s suggested that crowded streets can feel very stressful, causing people to walk faster to leave quickly. 5 , which give people places to meet indoors.
A global study found that city residents walked about 10 percent faster in 2006 than in the 1990s. Are walking speeds now leveling off? The MIT team is studying cities in Europe to find out.
Of course, people cannot keep walking faster forever — or they will have to start running.
A.Researchers suggest that’s more true than ever
B.Some link this to the rapid growth of mobile devices
C.Higher pay and growing city populations may also play a role
D.In 1980, the average walking speed was 1.25 meters per second
E.Lower lingering levels may also be linked to the increase in coffee shops
F.If people’s behavioral patterns have changed since 1980, it’s natural to ask why
G.What this shows about modern life is unclear, but it is probably not because people are fitter
【答案】1.A 2.D 3.B 4.C 5.E
2.根据后文“By 2010, it had risen to 1.41 meters per second — about 15 percent faster. People walking slower than 0.5 meters per second were called “lingerer (逗留者)” and removed from the data. The number of lingerers fell by 14 percent over the same period.(到2010年,这一速度已提升至每秒1.41米——大约快了15%。步行速度每秒慢0.5米的人被称为“逗留者”,并从数据中剔除。同期,“逗留者”的数量减少了14%)”可知,空后提到“到2010年,步行速度升到每秒1.41米,变快了15%”,D选项给出“1980年平均步行速度是每秒1.25米”,和后文2010年的数据形成对比,符合研究结果的表述。
3.根据后文“Since around 2000, people have carried their social lives and work everywhere, and perhaps the constant stream of messages makes us move faster without realizing it. However, in 2010, fewer than 10 percent of pedestrians in the study were using phones, suggesting that phones are not the only reason for faster walking.(自 2000 年左右以来,人们将社交生活和工作带到了任何地方。
Passage 4
In the digital age, a WeChat profile picture has become people’s first “digital face”. 1 As the famous psychologist Jung once said: “The persona is the tool for individuals to adapt to society, but over-reliance on it will blur (使……变模糊) the true self.” Behind those deliberately decorated profile pictures often hide the users’ deviation in self-awareness and ignorance of others’ feelings. This article will analyze three typical low-level WeChat profile pictures and reveal their deep psychological mechanisms.
2 Their pictures show steering wheels with famous watches or piles of luxury goods. Psychologically, when individuals lack a sense of achievement in reality, they often build false superiority through virtual symbols. In fact, only 2% of truly wealthy people use such profile pictures. 3
The second is the vulgar type. Their pictures contain revealing images or suggestive (暗示性的) emojis. According to psychological studies, such users easily simplify interpersonal relationships into resource exchange. 4 It will indirectly damage others’ social experience just like “second-hand smoke”.
The third is the negative-energy type with gloomy selfies or pessimistic words. Such pictures act as an “emotional black hole” in the digital world. 5 To break the cycle, we should develop a growth mindset and face life positively.
In conclusion, profile pictures are like mirrors reflecting our personality. True personality lies not in unusual pictures, but in an independent mind and sincere character.
A.The first kind is the show-off type.
B.It will gradually drive friends away.
C.Many people change their profile pictures often.
D.Keeping a good profile picture helps make friends.
E.Such profile pictures are like social pollution online.
F.It not only displays personal aesthetics but also the inner world.
G.This sharp contrast shows their psychology of relying on others’ ideas.
【答案】1.F 2.A 3.G 4.E 5.B
1.上文“In the digital age, a WeChat profile picture has become people’s first “digital face”. (在数字时代,微信头像已然成为人们的第一张“数字面孔”)”点明微信头像在网络社交中的外在定位,下文“As the famous psychologist Jung once said: “The persona is the tool for individuals to adapt to society, but over-reliance on it will blur (使……变模糊) the true self.”(正如著名心理学家荣格所说:“人格面具是个人适应社会的工具,但过度依赖它会模糊真正的自我)”引用心理学家的话语,指出过度包装头像会掩盖真实自我,开始探讨头像背后隐藏的问题。F选项“它不仅展现个人审美,还能体现内心世界”承接上文,递进说明头像兼具外在展示与内在表达的作用,起到承上启下的过渡效果。
2.下文“Their pictures show steering wheels with famous watches or piles of luxury goods. Psychologically, when individuals lack a sense of achievement in reality, they often build false superiority through virtual symbols. (他们的头像配有方向盘、名表或是成堆奢侈品。从心理上讲,当个人在现实中缺乏成就感时,他们经常通过虚拟符号建立虚假的优越感)”详细描述了一类头像的外在特征,并专门剖析这类使用者的心理状态。结合后边段落中的“The second is the vulgar type.(第二种是粗俗型)”以及“The third is the negative-energy type with gloomy selfies or pessimistic words.(第三种是负面能量型,带有阴郁的自拍或悲观的话语)”可知,文章采用分类介绍的行文结构。
3.上文“In fact, only 2% of truly wealthy people use such profile pictures. (事实上,仅有2%的真正富人使用这类头像)”指出绝大多数使用炫富类头像的人并非真的富有,形成了现实与虚拟展示的巨大反差。G选项“这种鲜明反差体现出他们依附他人看法的心理”紧扣这一对比现象,深入解读该类人群的心理特征。
4.上文“The third is the negative-energy type with gloomy selfies or pessimistic words.(第三种是负面能量型,带有悲观的自拍或悲观的话语)”介绍了低俗类头像的内容特点与使用者的心态,下文“It will indirectly damage others’ social experience just like “second-hand smoke”. (它会像“二手烟”一样,间接破坏他人的社交体验)”用比喻说明这类头像带来的不良影响。E选项“这类头像就如同网络社交污染在线上传播”先将低俗头像定性为网络污染,和后文“二手烟”的负面类比相呼应,层层递进阐述其危害。
5.上文“Such pictures act as an “emotional black hole” in the digital world. (这类头像如同网络世界里的“情绪黑洞”)”形象说明负能量头像会不断传递负面情绪,存在负面影响。下文“To break the cycle, we should develop a growth mindset and face life positively.(要打破这种循环,我们应该培养成长心态,积极面对生活。)”
Passage 5
Ask a parent today what they worry about, and many will mention screen time. 1 And is my kid really doing homework on their computer, or have they been watching YouTube for four hours?
Despite these concerns, many parents are resigned (顺从的). They’ll tell their kids they aren’t allowed on social media, only for their children to open accounts anyway. Many parents are driven to extreme despair, and others have simply given up. 2 According to my own experience, talking is just not enough. We need clear rules around technology use because they are kids. Below is my advice.
3 Six out of ten 11-to-17-year-olds use their phone between midnight and 5 a.m. at least once a week, causing them to lose sleep every time the phone buzzes (震动) and they grab their phone to see what’s going on. The mere presence of a phone in the bedroom can disturb sleep, and kids don’t even have to be using it in the middle of the night.
Then, first phones should be basic phones. 4 They have no social media and no AI companions, but they can call, text, and take pictures just like a smartphone. If you don’t want your kid on social media until they are 16 or older — and that’s the growing agreement — basic phones make that much easier, while allowing kids to text their friends.
Applying these rules is not always easy. But rules like these are much easier to follow than the unclear “every kid is different” advice. Even if you can only follow some of the rules some of the time, your kids will benefit. 5
A.The best is certain to come.
B.Teens can’t put down their phones.
C.Families care much about their kids.
D.Basic phones have no internet browser (浏览器).
E.Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
F.No electronic devices in the bedroom overnight.
G.That’s because much advice is difficult to follow.
1.根据空前“Ask a parent today what they worry about, and many will mention screen time.(如今问家长们担心什么,很多人都会提到孩子的屏幕使用时间)”以及空后“And is my kid really doing homework on their computer, or have they been watching YouTube for four hours?(我的孩子真的在电脑上写作业吗,还是已经看了四个小时的油管视频?)”
2.根据空前“Despite these concerns, many parents are resigned (顺从的). They’ll tell their kids they aren’t allowed on social media, only for their children to open accounts anyway. Many parents are driven to extreme despair, and others have simply given up.(尽管有这些担忧,许多家长却只能顺从。他们会告诉孩子不允许使用社交媒体,可孩子们还是会偷偷注册账号。很多家长陷入了极度的绝望,还有一些人干脆选择放弃)”以及空后“According to my own experience, talking is just not enough. We need clear rules around technology use because they are kids.(根据我的经验,光靠说教是远远不够的。因为他们还是孩子,我们需要制定明确的电子产品使用规则)”可知,此空应说明家长无奈放弃的原因,G选项“这是因为很多建议都难以执行”中的that指代前文家长的无奈处境,且衔接后文作者提出的建议,符合语境。
3.此处应为本段的小标题,与其他段落小标题格式一致。根据空后“Six out of ten 11-to-17-year-olds use their phone between midnight and 5 a.m. at least once a week, causing them to lose sleep every time the phone buzzes (震动) and they grab their phone to see what’s going on. The mere presence of a phone in the bedroom can disturb sleep, and kids don’t even have to be using it in the middle of the night.(在11到17岁的青少年中,有六成的人每周至少有一次在午夜到凌晨五点之间使用手机,每次手机震动他们就会拿起查看,进而导致睡眠不足。即便孩子半夜不玩手机,卧室里有手机这件事本身也会干扰睡眠)”可知,本段围绕“不让电子产品进卧室”展开,F选项“夜间卧室禁止放置任何电子设备”能准确概括本段主题,符合语境。
4.根据空前“Then, first phones should be basic phones. (那么,孩子的第一部手机应该是功能机)”以及空后“They have no social media and no AI companions, but they can call, text, and take pictures just like a smartphone.(它们没有社交媒体功能,也没有人工智能助手,但可以像智能手机一样打电话、发短信和拍照)”可知,此空应进一步说明功能机的特点,D选项“功能机没有互联网浏览器”承接前文的basic phones,且与后文功能机的特点并列,符合语境。
5.根据上文“Applying these rules is not always easy. But rules like these are much easier to follow than the unclear “every kid is different” advice. Even if you can only follow some of the rules some of the time, your kids will benefit.(应用这些规则并非总是轻而易举之事。但像这样的规则要比那种含糊不清的“每个孩子都是不同的”这种说法容易遵循得多。即便你只能在某些时候遵循部分规则,你的孩子也会从中受益)”可知,前文表示不必全程严格遵守所有规则,E选项“不要让追求完美成为阻碍达成良好结果的因素”符合语境。

Passage 1
Fire is a destructive force that can reduce years of memories to ashes in minutes. For high school students, understanding fire safety is not just a school requirement — but a critical life skill. 1 The key lies not in panic, but in prevention, preparation and a clear plan.
2 Most fires can be avoided by maintaining fire safety consciousness in daily life. Watch out for common dangers like overloaded power strips (排插), unattended cooking, and careless use of candles. 3 These simple devices cut the risk of dying in a home fire in half. Knowing how to use a fire extinguisher can stop a small fire from becoming a big disaster.
However, when prevention fails, a well-rehearsed escape plan becomes your lifeline. Identify two ways out of every room, usually a door and a window. 4 Agree on a specific outdoor meeting place, such as a tree or a lamppost, so that you can quickly account for everyone.
During a fire, seconds count. If the alarm sounds, get out and stay out. Before opening a door, feel it with the back of your hand. If it’s warm, use your second way out. Crawl low under the smoke where the air is cleaner and cooler. Breathing in poisonous smoke, not flames, is the leading cause of fire-related deaths. Once outside, call emergency services immediately. 5 .
If you adopt these practices, you will be empowered to convert knowledge into a reliable defense.
A.Never go back inside for any possession.
B.Prevention is always the first line of defense.
C.However, all elevators in high-rise buildings shouldn’t be operated.
D.This awareness allows you to protect not only yourself but also others.
E.Therefore, it is crucial to conduct regular fire drills in your community.
F.Make sure all secondary (备用的) emergency exits can be operated instantly from the inside.
G.Always ensure smoke alarms are installed and functional on every floor.
【答案】1.D 2.B 3.G 4.F 5.A

4 You can use reusable grocery bags to reduce the amount of plastic bags. You can also choose eco-friendly products in life. Eco-friendly cleaning products, for example, are often better for your health too.
The world is changing, but that doesn’t mean that we have to let it change for the worse. 5 It will help us to live a happier, healthier life. And it will also help to save the planet for future generations.
A.We will try to recycle everything we can.
B.This is a problem in offices, as well as in homes.
C.However, if you live in a city you can do it for sure.
D.Each of us can play a part in protecting our environment.
E.Besides, there are other ways you can be more eco-friendly.
F.You’ll be likely to notice a positive change in your health soon.
G.You can also join a local bike club to make friends who bike with you.

5.上文“The world is changing, but that doesn’t mean that we have to let it change for the worse.(世界在变化,但这并不意味着我们必须让它变得更糟)”指出人类有能力阻止环境恶化,D选项“Each of us can play a part in protecting our environment.(我们每个人都可以在保护环境中发挥作用)”承接上文,强调个人行动的重要性;下文“It will help us to live a happier, healthier life.(它将帮助我们过上更快乐、更健康的生活)”中的“It”指代D选项中“play a part in protecting our environment”这一行为,说明了保护环境对个人生活的积极影响,上下文语意连贯。
Passage 3
Nowadays, most pet owners are facing a problem: Pets easily feel anxiety when they are left home alone for too long, but people’s busy lifestyles often lead to shorter time at home. 1 Here are some tips to keep your pets happy when you go out.
Cats don’t simply sleep when you leave. They need stimulation (刺激) for the period. If there are other cats at home, they will create games, enjoying each other’s company. 2 Leaving the TV or radio on can help, and while you choose their favorite programme, you can’t go far wrong with classical music.
3 They will keep your cats physically and mentally busy, which will lessen the separation anxiety. Some of the toys are also practical for your home, such as scratching posts (猫抓板) to prevent the furniture from being scratched.
It’s not just cats that suffer from separation anxiety. Dogs also dislike being left alone and unluckily they can’t tell whether it’s been ten minutes or ten hours, and the displeasure felt is very similar. 4 Background noise from the TV or radio can also help them feel less alone. There is even a dog TV programme designed to create happy and calm thoughts in dogs, showing beautiful scenes of fields, beaches and other dogs. You can also gradually lengthen the distance and time of your separation until your dogs can be left alone for 20 minutes without showing their usual symptoms of sadness and stress. 5
A.A number of cat toys are also helpful.
B.Schedule daily play time with your cats.
C.But you can help ease the negative feeling at least.
D.That creates a lot of worry for the pets’ happiness.
E.But if they are alone they will need other stimulation.
F.In this way, they can disconnect your absence with negativity.
G.Over time, they will expect the separation in order to be awarded.
【答案】1.D 2.E 3.A 4.C 5.F
1.根据前文“Pets easily feel anxiety when they are left home alone for too long, but people’s busy lifestyles often lead to shorter time at home.(宠物独自在家太久很容易感到焦虑,但人们忙碌的生活方式往往导致在家时间更短)”可知,宠物独自在家太久会感到焦虑,而主人又很忙,故本句与上文构成因果关系,指出这给宠物的幸福带来了很多担忧,所以选项D“这给宠物的幸福生活带来了诸多困扰”符合语境。故选D。
2.根据上文“If there are other cats at home, they will create games, enjoying each other’s company.( 如果家里有其他猫,它们会创造游戏,享受彼此的陪伴)”可知,如果家里有其他猫,它们会一起玩,后文提到“Leaving the TV or radio on can help, and while you choose their favorite programme, you can’t go far wrong with classical music.(打开电视或收音机有帮助,当你选择它们最喜欢的节目时,古典音乐不会错)”可知,如果猫独自在家,可以打开电视或收音机,也就是说如果猫独自在家就需要其他刺激,所以选项E“但如果它们独自一人的话,它们就需要其他形式的刺激”符合语境。故选E。
3.根据后文“They will keep your cats physically and mentally busy, which will lessen the separation anxiety. Some of the toys are also practical for your home, such as scratching posts (猫抓板) to prevent the furniture from being scratched.(它们会让您的猫咪在身体和精神上都保持忙碌状态,从而减轻它们的分离焦虑情绪。其中一些玩具还非常适合在家中使用,比如猫抓板,可以防止家具被划伤)”可知,本段主要讲的是猫玩具可以减轻猫的分离焦虑,本句总起后文,指出玩具的作用。所以选项A“许多猫咪玩具也有一定的帮助作用”符合语境。故选A。
4.根据上文“Dogs also dislike being left alone and unluckily they can’t tell whether it’s been ten minutes or ten hours, and the displeasure felt is very similar.(狗也不喜欢被单独留下,不幸的是,它们无法分辨是十分钟还是十小时,而且它们感受到的不快非常相似)”可知,狗也不喜欢被单独留下,结合后文“Background noise from the TV or radio can also help them feel less alone(电视或收音机的背景噪音也能让它们感觉不那么孤单)”可知,本段主要讲的是如何缓解狗独自在家时的分离焦虑,故本句与上文构成转折,指出至少可以缓解这种负面情绪,所以选项C“但你至少可以尽力缓解它们的不良情绪”符合语境。故选C。
5.根据上文“You can also gradually lengthen the distance and time of your separation until your dogs can be left alone for 20 minutes without showing their usual symptoms of sadness and stress.(你也可以逐渐延长分离的距离和时间,直到你的狗可以独自呆20分钟而不表现出通常的悲伤和压力症状)”可知,狗可以逐渐适应独自在家,结合后文“In this way, they can disconnect your absence with negativity.(这样,它们就不会把你的缺席与消极情绪联系起来)”可知,狗可以逐渐适应独自在家,本句说明这一方法的好处:不会把你的缺席与消极情绪联系起来,所以选项F“通过这种方式,他们就能将你的缺席与负面情绪区分开来”符合语境。故选F。
Passage 4
Did you know that climbing trees is one of the most natural and fascinating skills for giant pandas? From a young age, these adorable pandas start learning the art of tree climbing. 1 Typically, panda cubs (幼崽) begin learning how to climb at about 4 to 5 months old, and by the time they’re around 6 months, they’re already skilled climbers, able to climb tree trunks with great ease.
2 When a panda cub is left alone while its mother searches for bamboo nearby, it faces the threat of predators. But no worries! The cubs can quickly climb up a tree to escape danger, as climbing provides a safe refuge high off the ground. What’s more, trees are the perfect spot to take in some sunshine. 3
Giant pandas’ liking for climbing trees is a natural behavior closely related to their body structure and living environment. When climbing trees, pandas have a unique technique. They wrap their front paws (爪) tightly around the tree trunk or branches, and use their powerful hind feet to push themselves upwards. 4 This allows them to climb with stability and speed. These little performers are truly impressive in their agility (灵活性)!
As they grow older, though, you’ll notice that they climb less and less. That’s because grown-up pandas are all about conserving energy — after all, they’re always feeding on bamboo and need to save their strength for their next meal! 5 And you’ll more often find them moving around, enjoying the peace and quiet of their habitat.
A.Tree-climbing is essential for survival, especially for wild pandas.
B.It takes a certain amount of strength for them to climb trees.
C.So, seeing an adult panda climbing trees is a rare treat.
D.Pandas mainly survive on bamboo and plants.
E.The motion is both beautiful and smooth.
F.It helps pandas grow strong and healthy.
G.It’s truly an impressive sight!
【答案】1.G 2.A 3.F 4.E 5.C

Passage 5
Known for its blue waters, world-class point breaks and colorful sunsets, Rincon is everything you’d expect from a beach town, but better. 1 It’s a must-see town for beach buffs, surfers, and outdoor enthusiasts exploring Puerto Rico’s west coast.
2 The tropical (热带的) weather stays warm with average temperatures around 27℃ and beach-ready. For surfing its infamous waves, visit between October and February, when the northwest swells (涌浪) bring consistent surf conditions. This is high season for United States and European tourists, meaning you’ll share the point breaks. Perks include local Christmas festivities and whale-watching, especially between January and March, with more pleasant cooler temperatures of 24℃. For calm tides and small swells, visit June through August, but expect local crowds.
Getting in and out of Rincon requires planning as it’s one of the furthest towns from San Juan. There is no public transportation, so rent a car (about a 2.5-3 hr drive) or choose a private shuttle or taxi. A car is essential for moving around most beaches and sights; downtown is walkable. 3 A shuttle bus circles the town connecting accommodations to main spots. You can also fly directly into Rafael Hernandez Airport in Aguadilla, just an hour away.
Top things to do: 4 Domes Beach has challenging waves, and Maria’s Beach hosts surfing competitions; beginners can book classes at local surf schools. Go whale-watching at Punta Higuera Lighthouse Park (November-April) to spot humpbacks surfacing, blowing and breaching. Join Rincon’s weekly Art Walk (Thursday evenings) for music, dancing and local crafts.
Always check local weather and tide conditions before entering the water. From October to February, ocean conditions can turn rough. Beaches south of Rincon Public Beach are better for swimming, while those north of Black Eagle Marina are primarily for surfing. 5
A.Don’t miss it.
B.Taxis are available on call.
C.Surf at north-side beaches.
D.Rincon is great to visit year-round.
E.Rincon proves a must-visit beach town.
F.Start with gentle waves at Maria’s Beach surf schools.
G.Respecting these guidelines ensures a safer coastal experience.
1.根据上文“Known for its blue waters, world-class point breaks and colorful sunsets, Rincon is everything you’d expect from a beach town, but better.(Rincon以其湛蓝的海水、世界级的冲浪点以及绚丽的日落而闻名。
2.根据后文“The tropical (热带的) weather stays warm with average temperatures around 27℃ and beach-ready. For calm tides and small swells, visit June through August, but expect local crowds.(热带气候持续温暖,平均气温约为27℃,非常适合冲浪。
3.根据上文“Getting in and out of Rincon requires planning as it’s one of the furthest towns from San Juan. There is no public transportation, so rent a car (about a 2.5-3 hr drive) or choose a private shuttle or taxi. A car is essential for moving around most beaches and sights; downtown is walkable.(前往Rincon需要做好充分的规划,因为它是距离圣胡安最远的城镇之一。这里没有公共交通,所以你可以租一辆车(大约需要2.5至3小时的车程),或者选择私人班车或出租车。租车对于游览大多数海滩和景点来说是必不可少的;市中心可以步行到达)”以及后文“A shuttle bus circles the town connecting accommodations to main spots. You can also fly directly into Rafael Hernandez Airport in Aguadilla, just an hour away. (有一辆穿梭巴士在镇内循环,将住宿地点与主要景点连接起来。您还可以直接飞往阿瓜迪亚的拉斐尔·埃尔南德斯机场,距离这里仅一小时路程)”可知,空白前讨论交通问题,提到“无公共交通,需租车或选择私人班车/出租车”(private shuttle or taxi);空白后补充班车服务。选项B“可打电话叫出租车”直接承接“taxi”信息,提供具体解决方案,确保交通话题连贯。故选B。
4.根据后文“Domes Beach has challenging waves, and Maria’s Beach hosts surfing competitions; beginners can book classes at local surf schools. Go whale-watching at Punta Higuera Lighthouse Park (November-April) to spot humpbacks surfacing, blowing and breaching.
5.根据上文“Always check local weather and tide conditions before entering the water. From October to February, ocean conditions can turn rough. Beaches south of Rincon Public Beach are better for swimming, while those north of Black Eagle Marina are primarily for surfing.(在下水前务必先查看当地的天气和潮汐情况。从十月到二月,海洋状况可能会变得较为恶劣。Rincon公共海滩以南的海滩更适合游泳,而黑鹰码头以北的海滩则主要是供冲浪使用的)”可知,空白前给出安全建议(检查天气、注意海滩分区),选项G“遵守这些指南能确保更安全的沿海体验”总结全文安全提示,作为段落结尾,起到强调和收束作用。故选G。

Passage 2
To give you some inspiration, here are some ideas on how you can help protect the environment in your daily life.
Riding a bike might not be a practical option for everyone. 1 Not only is biking good for your health, but it also helps reduce pollution and traffic congestion. Most cities have bike lanes now, and many companies have even started providing bike rentals (租赁) so that you can explore and visit places without worrying about parking.
Meat production has by far one of the biggest effects on the environment. Raising animals for food is one of the leading causes of global warming. Eating less meat will not only reduce your carbon footprint, but also your risk of cancer. 2
Did you know that you’re wasting energy if you have lights that are turned on all day, but are not being used? 3 If you have lights that you use regularly, you can use a timer to automatically turn them off after a certain amount of time.
