(What do you think the story is about?)和段落划分任务发展思维品质。采用“读-说-写-评”闭环教学法,作业含分级阅读、音频录制等多样化任务,既帮助学生综合提升语言技能,又为教师提供可直接应用的完整教学方案。

Jonathan Swift
Jonathan Swift (1667–1745) was a famous writer from Ireland. He is best known for his book Gulliver's Travels, which is a fun and exciting story about a man named Lemuel Gulliver who travels to many strange lands, like Lilliput—the land of tiny people.
Swift was a master of satire, which means he used funny and clever stories to make people think about the problems in society. His writing is still popular today because it is both entertaining and full of meaning.
When you read Gulliver's Travels, you'll meet tiny people, giants, and other amazing creatures. But behind the adventure, Swift was also making jokes about the silly things people do in real life!

Suppose the same thing happened to you. What would you do?
How would you feel in this situation: surprised, scared or curious? Give your reasons.
I would try my best to break free, climb to the mountain in the
distance and hide in the forest to avoid being seen.
I would have very mixed feelings—a combination of surprise, fear and curiosity. When I first see the Lilliputians, I would be surprised by their tiny size and their well-organized society. However, I would also feel scared because I can sense potential danger. At the same time, I would be curious about their culture and way of life.

Do you like to read books about travel? Why or why not?
Yes, I do. Not every discovery has to be made in person. I can get lost in the wonders of new places, new cultures and new people through the words of an author. What’s more, reading travel stories can bring out my creativity. The more I read, the more I will learn about what makes a good travel story. Maybe someday I will write about my own adventures and share them.
Retell the story in the first person of Gulliver according to the pictures.
Have you ever faced a challenge that seemed impossible to overcome? If yes, what did you do?
Don't choose difficult things, just small things on campus or in daily life. (学跳绳 / 游泳总学不会;英语默写总不及格;第一次上台表演很紧张)
Describe the difficulty → Share your feelings at the time and the reasons why you felt ''impossible''.
Talk about what you did to solve it actual actions.
Share the result + what you learned.

Yes, I have. The biggest challenge I ever faced was learning to ride a bike. I fell off the bike many times in the beginning and even hurt my knee. I thought I would never be able to ride it, and I almost wanted to stop trying. But my dad told me to be patient and keep practicing. At first, he ran beside me to hold the bike, and then he gradually let go as I felt more confident. Every day after school, I practiced riding for 20 minutes.
After two weeks, I could ride the bike all by myself! It was such a happy moment. I learned that overcoming a challenge just needs a little courage and lots of practice.
