Once upon a time, there was a shopkeeper who lived in a village far away from the city. Every day, he bought one kilogram of butter from a villager. The shopkeeper had been buying butter from that man for many years.
One day, the shopkeeper thought to himself, “I have been buying butter from this man for so long, but I haven’t checked its weight in ages. I should check tomorrow to make sure he gives me no less than a kilo.” Next day, when the villager brought the butter, the shopkeeper weighed it and found that it was only 900 grams. He became very angry and went straight to the village council (委员会) to complain.
Council gathered and told the villager, “This shopkeeper has accused you of cheating him. He says you’ve been giving him only 900 grams of butter instead of a full kilogram. Do you have anything to say in your defense? ”
Villager replied, “Respected Sarpanch, I am a poor man and don’t have proper weights for my scale. Every day, I buy one kilogram of wheat from this very shopkeeper, and the next day, I use that same wheat as a weight to measure the butter I sell to him. So if the weight is wrong, you should ask the shopkeeper about it.”
Everyone in the council immediately understood the truth. They realized who was at fault and expelled the dishonest shopkeeper from the village.
Just like the shopkeeper suffered because of his own lie. In life too, we eventually face the consequences of our own actions. We may get away with doing wrong once, twice, or even several times, but one day or another, we must pay for our deeds.

Have you ever wondered why paintings, buildings and music can bring people a sense of beauty? The answer may be the golden ratio, a special number about 1:1.618. If a line is divided into two parts, the ratio of the whole line to the longer part is the same as the longer part to the shorter one. This rule was found by ancient mathematicians and has been widely used for hundreds of years.
In architecture, the golden ratio helps build harmonious buildings. The Parthenon in Greece is a classic example. Its height, width and the distance between columns all follow the golden ratio, making it look balanced and beautiful. Many modern buildings also use this rule.
Painters also love using the golden ratio. The great artist Leonardo da Vinci used it in Mona Lisa. The position of her face, eyes and smile all fit the golden ratio, so her expression looks natural and attractive.
Surprisingly, the golden ratio also exists in music. Famous musicians like Mozart and Beethoven used it to create music. Their works sound smooth and pleasant partly because of this special ratio.
Nature is the best user. Sunflower seeds grow in two special spiral shapes. Roses and lilies have 3, 5, 8 or 13 petals, which are related to the golden ratio. Plants grow in this way to get more sunlight.
From math to art, buildings to nature, the golden ratio can be seen everywhere. It proves that beauty has a mathematical rule behind it.

26. Why does the writer start the passage with a question?
A. To test readers’ knowledge about beauty. B. To lead into the topic naturally.
C. To show the writer’s confusion. D. To compare different ideas on beauty.
27. What is the golden ratio? (L=whole line, A=longer part, B=shorter part)
A. B/A=L/A B. L/B=L/A C. L/A=A/B D. A/L=A/B
28.Which of the following is NOT mentioned?
A. Column distance of the Parthenon. B. Spiral shapes of sunflower seeds.

As the weather gets warmer, more people will start going camping. A report found that a quarter of all North American campers last year were first-time campers, and most of them had kids at home. Paul Weiss, who runs a camping area, noticed this last summer. He saw many families and first-time campers.
A report also found that Mill Creek had less group camping than usual at Mill Creek and Refreshing Mountain's cabins. Even so, people and families filled up the spots that were usually for groups.
Weiss encourages campers to learn about the campsites before they arrive. Campsites offer different levels of amenities, which can be important to know ahead of time. Some places, like Mill Creek, are considered "primitive", meaning they only have fire pits and space for tents. Other places, like the cabins at Refreshing Mountain, are more comfortable.
Weiss suggests booking campsites in advance because many places fill up quickly. "It's always good to make a reservation. With camping becoming popular again, a lot of places are full," says Weiss.
Camp in designated areas to stay safe and not go where you're not allowed. For first-timers, Weiss suggests practising in your backyard first. This way, you can see if you have all the equipment you need and find out if there are any problems. It's easier to cancel a backyard camping trip than one far away.
When camping, it's important to protect the environment. Jackson, another person, says it's necessary to leave the campsite cleaner than when you arrived. This means not leaving any rubbish behind.
