I want to talk about our class sports team. It is a great team full of energy and team spirit.
There are twelve members in our team. We take part in many school sports games together. Last month, we joined the school relay race. At first, one of our teammates fell down and hurt his leg. We all felt worried, but no one gave up. Some classmates helped him stand up, and we encouraged each other loudly. Our team leader stayed calm and told us to keep going. We trusted one another and made every effort to run forward.
Finally, we finished the race successfully. We didn’t get the first prize, but we won respect from all teachers and students. From this experience, I learn that a great team never cares only about results. Good cooperation, trust and courage are more important. A good leader should take responsibility, and every member needs to work together.
Teamwork makes us better. I am proud to be a member of this great team.

Communication is the bridge between people. Good communication skills can help us get along well with family members, classmates and friends. However, many teenagers often have arguments and misunderstandings with people around them, which makes them feel lonely and sad. Learning correct ways to communicate is necessary for middle school students.
Many conflicts happen between teenagers and parents. Parents always hope children study hard and stay away from bad habits. They care about kids’ grades, daily safety and future development. But young people want more personal space and freedom. They hope parents can respect their hobbies and choices. Sometimes parents speak in a strict tone, teenagers will refuse to talk back. To solve this problem, children should take the initiative to share school stories with parents. When having different ideas, talk calmly instead of shouting angrily. Parents also need to listen to children’s true thoughts patiently.
Disagreements also appear among classmates and friends. We may have different opinions on group activities, sports games or class rules. Some students insist on their own ideas and refuse to accept others’ advice, which breaks friendship. When facing differences, we should learn to put ourselves in others’ shoes. Think about things from friends’ side, then we can understand each other better. Say polite words and give sincere suggestions properly. If you hurt your friend carelessly, bravely say sorry at once.
Besides daily talk, body language also plays an important role in communication. Smiling faces show kindness and friendliness. Eye contact means you are listening carefully. Nodding heads stand for agreement. Bad gestures and impatient expressions will make others uncomfortable. Avoid cold words and rude attitudes in daily communication.
No one can live alone in the world. Nice communication removes gaps between hearts. Mastering communication skills helps us build harmonious relationships and live a happier teenage life.
41.Why do teenagers often quarrel with parents?
A.They have different thoughts and demands B.Parents never care about children’s study
C.Kids dislike staying with family members D.Children refuse to go to school every day
42.What should students do to get on well with parents?
A.Never share anything with parents B.Communicate calmly when having different views
C.Shout loudly to show personal ideas D.Refuse all advice from parents

A.Ways of good communication B.Ways to improve study grades C.Teenagers’ boring school life D.How to make different hobbies
D
Today, teamwork is important in many fields (领域). Most people think the best way to build a great team is to bring together the most talented people. For example, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg once said one great engineer is as useful as a hundred common ones. Do you think this is always true? Can more talents always help us do better?
Animal scientist William Muir did an experiment with chickens. He chose some strong chickens that could lay many eggs. He kept them for a long time and made them Group A.He also used some common chickens as Group B.But the result was surprising. Chickens in Group A laid fewer eggs than those in Group B.They used too much energy competing (竞争) with each other. So they had little energy left to lay eggs.
This finding made scientists interested in studying teams. They did some studies on three sports: football, basketball and baseball. In football and basketball, teams worked better when there were some excellent players. But when more than 70% of the players were very good, the team did not do better. In fact, it did worse. However, things were different in baseball. More excellent players still made the team work better.
There are two reasons for this. First, in football and basketball, players must work together very well. If there are too many great players, they may care more about themselves than the team. This makes the team do worse. Second, when there are many great people in a group, some players may rely on (依赖) other teammates too much and not work hard.
In the end, it is not easy to build a great team just by choosing great members. We need a good balance. We need some excellent members. We also need good cooperation and strong teamwork. If we work together and try our best, we can turn our strength into real success.
46.How does the writer lead in the topic?
A.By telling a story. B.By asking questions.
C.By listing numbers. D.By showing pictures.
47.What does the underlined word “They” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A.Animal scientists. B.All the chickens.
C.Chickens in Group A. D.Chickens in Group B.
48.What do studies on sports show?
A.Too many excellent players may make the team do worse.
B.Basketball players do not have to work together very well.
C.Baseball players care more about themselves than the team.
D.Football teams should have more than 70% of excellent players.
49.Which is the best title for the passage?
A.Teamwork in Sports B.How to Build a Great Team
C.The More Talents, the Better D.An Experiment with Chickens

Imagine you have to spend an hour with a student you don’t know from another class. Maybe you’re going to take a test, or you’re waiting to see the head teacher. For some people, it’s difficult to start a conversation because you don’t know the person very well. For other people, it’s easy. 50
Talking to an older person can be even more difficult. For example, your parents’ friends or aunts, uncles or grandparents. Sometimes they ask all the questions and you only answer! 51 People like to talk about their experiences and to give an opinion about things.
Group conversations are also difficult to manage sometimes, but it’s important to make sure everyone speaks! If you are a person who can talk easily, then think about the others in the group. 52 A simple “And you?” or “Why?” Or show interest — “Really?”
When you are in a group and everyone is talking at the same time, it is sometimes hard to stop them, especially if you think this is not a polite thing to do. 53 Then other people know you have something to say. 54
A.We can all learn to have good conversations.
B.They just say, for example, “How are you?” or “Are you nervous?”
C.When you want to show your ideas, you can use “Excuse me, can I say something?”
D.It is not easy to make friends with new students.
E.To stop just answering questions, you can think of questions to ask the other person.
F.Don’t be afraid to talk with your family members.
G.If you notice one person is not speaking, then ask them a question.
四、任务型阅读
Joking can be a cheerful thing. However, sometimes people may see it differently. Some people may get hurt if there are too many jokes. When you show you can’t accept the jokes, the jokes might get worse.
We should consider our relationships with others when joking. Close friends usually enjoy teasing (开玩笑). Healthy teasing can usually make people relaxed. When both sides know it’s just joking, they can understand each other better. The environment is also important for close relationships. It doesn’t matter when your sister calls your nickname (绰号) at home. However, it’s quite bad when a classmate shouts it out at school.
When making a joke, we often see the funny side of it. But others may see it in a different way. Sometimes we forget the other person may not find it funny. People have different life experiences, so they understand jokes differently. For example, imagine someone not swimming at a pool party. Others might tease him or her about being unable to swim. But maybe that person is just afraid of water. Keep in mind that people may have their own reasons for not seeing the funny side of a joke.
It’s a good way to build good relationships by respecting others. In daily life, we should pay attention to our words when making jokes.
55.What may happen if there are too many jokes?
56.How do people usually feel about healthy teasing?
57.What is also important for close relationships?
58.Why do people understand jokes differently?
59.How can we build good relationships?

Teamwork is one of the most important skills in life. A great team is not just a group of people, but a group of people who work together, support each other and share the same goal.
I learned the importance of teamwork from a basketball match last term. At first, our team was not good. We all wanted to play well alone and didn’t pass the ball to each other. We lost the first two matches and everyone felt upset. Our teacher told us that teamwork was the key to winning. He asked us to communicate more and support each other.
After that, we changed our way. We talked about our plans before the match. During the match, we passed the ball to each other and helped each other. When one of us was in trouble, the others would give a hand. Little by little, our team became stronger and stronger. Finally, we won the third match. We were all very happy and proud.

故填should;take;responsibility。
86.在海洋的生态系统里,鲨鱼位于食物链的顶端。
Sharks are ________ ________ ________ ________ the food chain in the ocean’s ecosystem.
【答案】 at the top of
【解析】根据中英文对照可知,此处缺少“位于……的顶端”。“在……的顶端”用固定短语“at the top of”表达。故填at;the;top;of。
87.他建议我尝试新的学习方法。
He advised ________ ________ ________new learning methods.
【答案】 me to try
【解析】根据中英文对照可知,此处缺少“我尝试”。try动词“尝试”;“advise sb. to do sth.”是固定搭配,意为“建议某人做某事”,其中“sb.”用宾格me,“to do” 构成不定式结构。故填me;to;try。
88.他坚持带领团队每天训练已有八个月了,只为实现冠军梦想。
He ________ ________ ________ the team to train every day for eight months to realize the championship dream.
【答案】 has kept leading
【解析】根据中英文对照可知,此处缺“坚持带领”。keep doing sth.为固定搭配,表示“保持做某事”,lead“带领”为动词,此处需动名词。根据“for eight months”可知,时态为现在完成时,其结构为have/has done,主语He为第三人称单数,助动词用has,keep的过去式为kept。故填has;kept;leading。
89.参与团队活动让我明白,个人的力量有限,集体的力量无穷。
________ ________ team activities ________ me understand that individual strength is limited, but collective strength is infinite.
【答案】 Participating in helps
故填Participating;in;helps。
