Rat shook his head with a smile. “Not yet. It’s not as easy as it looks.”
Mole was quiet, but he wanted to row indeed. He was sure he could row as well as Rat. Then, before Rat could stop him, he jumped up, and pulled the oars out of the surprised Rat’s hands. Rat fell off his seat, calling out, “Stop! You’ll have us in the river!”
Mole made a great dig, but the oars never touched the water at all. Mole fell over. Frightened, he tried to hold the side of the boat, and the next moment—splash!
Mole and Rat and the lunch basket were all in the water.
Of course, it was Rat who pulled Mole out of the water. Rat turned the boat right way up and got the lunch basket from the bottom of the river. And he laughed and laughed.

“Never mind!” replied Rat kindly. “I’m always in and out of the water myself, so don’t worry about it. I’ll teach you to row and to swim.”
Mole found no words to say at that moment.
When they got home, they had a good hot dinner in front of a bright fire while Rat told exciting stories of life on the river. As exams get closer, many students begin to feel nervous or even scared. Some may study hard every day, but once they sit in the exam room, their minds may go blank (空白). Others find it hard to focus or feel uncomfortable in their bodies. This experience is common, especially before important tests, and it is known as exam anxiety.
Exam anxiety is not just simple nervousness. It is a kind of performance anxiety that can also appear in situations like public speaking, speeches, or interviews. Students with exam anxiety may have a fast heartbeat, sweaty hands, or even feel sick. The main reason is fear of poor results and doubts about one’s own ability. When students worry too much about success or failure, anxiety becomes stronger and creates a negative influence.
However, anxiety is not always a bad thing. In fact, stress is the body’s natural warning system. It reminds us to prepare for challenges ahead. If we learn to accept pressure instead of avoiding it, we can turn it into motivation (动力). Proper nervousness can help us stay calm and alert (警觉的) during exams.
Getting help from others is also important. Talking with teachers or classmates can provide useful advice and emotional support. At the same time, good preparation is the key to confidence. Regular study habits and clear goals make students feel more in control.
Changing the way we think can reduce anxiety as well. Instead of focusing on failure, students should remind themselves of their effort and progress. For those who want everything to be perfect, learning to accept mistakes is necessary.
Finally, taking care of both the body and mind matters. Enough sleep, healthy food, exercise, and breathing practice can help calm the mind. With time and practice, exam anxiety can be reduced and even turned into strength.
22.What does the underlined word anxiety in Paragraph 1 mean?
A.A feeling of worry and nervousness. B.A feeling of happiness and relaxation.
C.A state of being excited. D.A state of being bored.
23.Which of the following is NOT mentioned as a way to reduce exam anxiety?

C.Keeping good living habits. D.Giving up difficult exams.
24.Which of the following best shows the structure of the text?

25.What is the main idea of the passage?

Langkawi is a group of beautiful islands on Malaysia’s north-west coast. It is a wonderful tropical(热带的)paradise. Last month, my family went there for our vacation.
Wildlife gives Langkawi its name, which comes from the Malay word for eagle. As one local told me, Langkawi is what Bali(巴厘岛)was like 50 years ago— before the concrete(混凝土制的)buildings moved in. The place has a tropical climate of about 30℃ during the day and 28℃ at night. It is perfect for year-round tourism.
My family stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel. There are acres(英亩)after acres of pools, flowerbeds, palm trees(棕榈树)and wild mango trees. They serve as the playground for squirrels and monkeys.
On our third morning in Langkawi, my family took a boat trip to see the local wildlife.
“Nature-based tourism here is among the best in the world,” said our tour guide. Slowly, we sailed into a narrow channel. It was an entrance to Langkawi’s mangrove— a forest between land and sea.
The trees can remove salt from seawater. As we sailed deeper, the forest became more mysterious. We heard the strange sounds of many different kinds of animals coming from the trees. Sometimes, they were low and deep. Sometimes, they were loud.
“When the trees die,” said our guide, “they sink(下沉)into the soil, taking their carbon with them.” A mangrove is a carbon bank, or tomorrow’s oil well.
54.Where is Langkawi?
55.How did they go to Langkawi’s mangrove?
56.What do you like best about Langkawi? Why?

Soon Rat began to row gently towards home while the sun went down behind the trees. Mole was very excited about the day. He began to think that he knew everything about boats now. So he said, “Rat! Please, I want to row!”
When all was ready again, the poor Mole sat in the boat very wet. As they left, he said in a low voice, “Rat, I have been so silly. I am really sorry indeed.”
Then he took Mole upstairs to the best bedroom, and soon Mole was lying warm and comfortable, listening to the sound of his new friend the River running past his bedroom window.

A.Asking teachers for advice. B.Accepting mistakes bravely.
C.Keeping good living habits. D.Giving up difficult exams.
24.Which of the following best shows the structure of the text?
A.B.C. D.
25.What is the main idea of the passage?

请认真阅读下面短文,用英语回答短文后的问题。
