1. — Have you heard of Dong Yuhui?
— Of course. He provides a ________ for farmers to sell their products online.
A. grade B. lesson C. chance D. habit
结合语境,董宇辉的直播为农民提供了销售产品的机会,provide a chance for sb. to do sth.
2. He ________ to writing though it is really hard.
A. shuts B. keeps C. recalls D. sticks
根据“though it is really hard”可知,尽管困难仍继续,表示“坚持”。
3. — Do you have a ________ room? I want to order a double room.
— Sorry, sir. All the rooms are ordered.
A. spare B. free C. nice D. large
【答案】A
4. When people want to relax themselves, they prefer ________ TV rather than ________ out.
A. watching; hanging B. watching; to hang C. to watch; hanging D. to watch; hang
prefer to do sth. rather than do sth.
5. —It’s a pity to hear that my dog ________ dead.
—I am sorry to hear that.
A. had been B. has been C. was D. is
had been用于过去完成时;has been用于现在完成时;was用于一般过去时;is用于一般现在时。根据“It’s a pity to hear that...” 主语my dog是第三人称单数,be动词用is。应填is。
6. The shop ________ sells some clothes at a low price is at the end of the street.
A. which B. where C. when D. who
【答案】A
which哪个,指代事物;where在哪里,指代地点;when当…… 根据“The shop ... sells some clothes at a low price”可知,本句是定语从句,此处缺少关系代词,先行词是the shop,指物,且从句中缺少主语,所以用关系代词which引导。故选A。
7. You won’t certainly make great progress ________ you keep working hard.
A. unless B. until C. before D. if
【答案】A
根据“You won’t certainly make great progress…you keep working hard.” 故选A。
8. —Let’s go to water the vegetables in our garden!
—Haha. They ________ this morning.
A. water B. are watered C. watered D. were watered

Abao, a Chinese teacher working in a public school in Australia, has a special talent for spreading traditional Chinese culture. He has successfully matched more than sixty ancient Chinese poems with music.
One of his popular works is an ancient Chinese poem sung by himself and his daughter, Emily. The music was created by Abao himself. The song’s lyrics (歌词) are from one of the most famous ancient poems, A Tranquil Night, written by the great poet Li Bai. What he did was to help his students better enjoy traditional Chinese works. He said this song was popular among these young people from different cultural backgrounds.
Abao noted that making English-speakers understand both the tones (音调) and meanings of these ancient poems was a challenge. “The idea of my creation is to use Western music as a framework (框架) for the traditional Chinese poems so that the Chinese tones and the Western melodies (旋律) can be connected. Chinese people feel that it is fresh, and children who grew up here can also accept it. Even when translated into different languages, our ancient poems can carry the depth of human feelings.” He added that these feelings, like the homesickness shown in Li Bai’s poem—A Tranquil Night, are common for people around the world, so they can easily relate to the poem.
Abao said his next plan was to write more songs about ancient Chinese poems. And he would also lead his Australian students to complete a stage show that tells a story through these poems.
38. How many ancient Chinese poems has Abao matched with music?
A. Nearly 30. B. Less than 40. C. About 50. D. More than 60.
39. What was Abao’s main purpose of matching ancient Chinese poems with music?
A. To make new Western music. B. To write a book about poems.
C. To improve his own music skills. D. To help his students enjoy Chinese works.
40. What challenge did Abao face when he matched poems with music?
A. To help English-speakers translate poems into English.
B. To help English-speakers understand classical Chinese.
C. To help English-speakers understand the tones and meanings.
D. To help English-speakers explain the background of the poems.
41. Which of the following lines is from the poem A Tranquil Night?
42. Which word can best describe Abao?
A. Strict. B. Honest. C. Creative. D. Brave.

At about 9:30 a.m. on Oct 19, 2025, four thieves (盗贼) broke into the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. In just seven minutes, they stole nine jewels (珠宝), but one of them was dropped on the way. The museum closed instantly after that and did not open again until Oct 22.
The theft showed holes in the museum’s security (安保). There was only one camera in the area where the thieves came in, and it was facing the wrong way, reported The Wall Street Journal. Many rooms in the museum do not have enough safety equipment (设备). In the Richelieu Wing, one of the museum’s three largest wings (侧厅), 75 percent of the rooms have no cameras at all.
What’s more, the museum doesn’t have enough staff. It’s very large and busy with 35,000 artworks on display and 8.7 million visitors last year. However, over the past 15 years, the Louvre has cut 200 security jobs from about 2,000, France reported.
Other museums in Paris also have safety problems. The Natural History Museum had a break-in in September, 2024. And a fire in 2019 kept the Notre Dame Cathedral closed until December 2024.
Things may get even harder. To save money, France’s Ministry of Culture may face another spending cut of 200 million euros (欧元) (about 1.7 billion yuan) in 2026. It will be more difficult to keep museums safe, said Apollo Magazine.
43. What would be the best structure of the passage?

The qipao has a high collar (领子), with pankous (盘扣), traditional Chinese knot buttons, on the front. Some people believe the qipao originated from gowns (长袍) worn by women in the Qing Dynasty. Influenced by Western culture, it changed during the early 20th century, becoming more fitted.
After years of development, the qipao is now mainly divided into Beijing styles, Shanghai styles and Hong Kong styles. ▲
The Beijing-style qipaos are more traditional than Shanghai-style and Hong Kong-style qipaos. The colors of Beijing-style qipaos are much brighter. High-quality Beijing-style qipaos are usually made by hand, so the price is much higher.
Compared with Beijing-style qipaos, Shanghai-style ones are more forward-looking. More western elements (元素) are used in designs and colors. Shanghai-style qipaos became the most popular qipao style around the 1930s because of fashionable design and slim shape. Now Shanghai-style qipaos are still the choice for most women, especially among younger ones.
Hong Kong-style qipaos have been influenced greatly by European fashions. They have shorter sleeves (袖子) than the other two. The decorations are simpler, too.
The qipao is a very classic product to represent the beauty of traditional Chinese clothing. It shows not only the history of the Han people, but also the footprints of other cultures on the land.

A. To help English-speakers translate poems into English.
B. To help English-speakers understand classical Chinese.
C. To help English-speakers understand the tones and meanings.

41. Which of the following lines is from the poem A Tranquil Night?

In recent years, it has become popular for women to wear a traditional qipao dress. Especially during the National College Entrance Examination, better known as the “gaokao”, many mothers wear qipao to wish their children good luck in the exam. The reason is that “qipao” represents the Chinese phrase “qí kāi dé shèng”, meaning victory.
48. How does the author start the passage?
A. By telling a story. B. By using a saying.
