I was filled with worries until my grandfather told me to stand tall.
For me, height was my trouble. I was much taller than other girls, so I often bent (弯曲) my body at the back of the line. I had always felt unsafe as the tallest student of my class. And I wasn’t looking forward to entering the ninth grade. My grandfather didn’t laugh at me. Instead, whenever I tried to bend myself in order to look shorter, he would tell me “Stand straight and tall, Alisa.” And whenever I was afraid of something, he always told me stories of his life.
My grandfather grew up in war-torn (战乱的) time. “Stand straight, stand tall” meant something else then. “If they could do it, why couldn’t I?” “Stand straight, stand tall,” he often told himself. Thanks to the help of a friend, my grandfather got a job. He once told me that he was very nervous at first. He was trying to learn not only this hard new job but also other new skills.
“Stand straight, stand tall,” he would always tell himself. I am so proud of my grandfather. After listening to my grandfather’s unusual experiences, I have changed the way I look at my own life. “Stand straight, stand tall” has become not only a piece of advice to improve my posture (身姿). Great news! Pandas are no longer in danger. They are on the road of recovery (恢复). Back in the 1980s, there were as few as 1,114 pandas in China. But the recent survey (最新调查) in 2014 showed that there were over 1,864 pandas living in the wild.

【71题详解】
句意:关于这个,你经常和你的父母争论。根据前文“every time you say ‘I want to...’, your parents answer ‘No, you can’t.’”以及“Perhaps you get angry with them about it.”可知,青少年因为父母的拒绝经常和父母争论,“argue with sb.”意为“和某人争论”,符合语境,句子时态是一般现在时,主语“you”是第二人称,动词用原形“argue”。故填argue。

I really hope my advice can help you.
Yours,
Paul
【答案】例文
Dear Li Hua,
I’m sorry to hear about your problem. I’d be happy to give you some advice.
I think you should follow your parents’ wish. If you keep a pet dog, you’ll have to spend a lot of time looking after it. For example, you’ll have to walk it every day and clean it often. If so, you’ll spend less time on your study. If there is a pet dog at home, it will make noise. If so, both you and your parents won’t get good sleep. Have a patient talk with your parents. Why not wait until you get older, and then ask your parents for it again?
I really hope my advice can help you.
Yours,
Paul

It also tells me to be proud of who I am. And I do.

Great news! Pandas are no longer in danger. They are on the road of recovery (恢复). Back in the 1980s, there were as few as 1,114 pandas in China. But the recent survey (最新调查) in 2014 showed that there were over 1,864 pandas living in the wild.
Since 1981, the Chinese government (政府) has been working with World Wildlife Fund (WWF世界自然基金会) to save the world’s most famous bears and their homes. They set up nature parks which help protect nearly 1,300 wild pandas by giving them space to live and bamboo to eat. But the bamboo forests are getting smaller, so pandas are still losing their homes. The WWF warned (警示) that climate change could also destroy (毁掉) more than 35% of the animals’ homes, so there won’t be enough places to live for them in the next few years. The future for pandas in the long term is not yet clear. But one thing is for sure: we must do some more efforts (努力) to protect our lovely pandas.
