She was thinking when suddenly a Rabbit ran past and said, “Oh dear! I shall be late!” Alice felt surprised because she never saw a rabbit with both a pocket and a watch to take out of it. So she followed him down a rabbit-hole and fell slowly into a long and dark room. She found a tiny door to a beautiful garden but she was too big to get through it. Looking for a way to get through, Alice came to a forest. Then, she met a large mushroom with a Caterpillar (毛毛虫) on top smoking. “Who are you?” It asked. “I don’t really know,” said Alice. “I’ve changed so often today.” The Caterpillar said, “One side of the mushroom will make you taller, the other shorter.” By eating from both sides, she finally became 25cm high and went on her way. After that, Alice met the Hatter, the Rabbit and a Dormouse at a crazy tea party. By chance, she went back to the long and dark room, picked up the small key, and opened the door to the garden. There, gardeners were painting roses red for the Queen. The Queen arrived and invited Alice to play croquet (槌球)—but the game was strange, with birds as sticks and hedgehogs (刺猬) as balls. Later, Alice came to the trial (审判) of the King and Queen of Hearts. The Hatter was the first witness (证人), and Alice was the second. “What do you know?” asked the King, “Nothing,” said Alice. “Off with her head!” shouted the Queen. Alice cried, “You’re only cards!” Suddenly the cards flew up and fell on her face. “Wake up, Alice,” said her sister. “You’ve been sleeping for a long time.” —— Adapted from Alice in Wonderland 21. B In 1894, Hiram Maxim drew a picture of a car. It looked like a bird and had four wheels (车轮). His idea later inspired an amusement park ride (游乐园设施), but it was not what he really wanted. Now, a company in California called Alef Aeronautics is making Maxim’s dream come true. Four founders (创始人), Jim Dukhovny, Constantine Kisly, Pavel Markin, and Oleg Petrov first thought of the idea in 2015. They got the idea from the movie Back to the Future and drew their first design on a napkin (餐巾纸). Their goal was clear: the car can drive on roads, run on electricity (电力), and take off directly. In less than a year, they built a small model, and it helped them get money from investors (投资者). Alef has two designs. One is the Model A, and the other is the Model Z, which is still being developed. On December 9, 2025, Alef started making the first Model A cars. These cars are built by hand using light objects. Each car will take months to complete. It has electric engines and fans, so it will take off without a runway. When flying, the car moves its body to a 90-degree angle (角度). This allows the sides to act as wings (翅膀). On the road, flying cars will be able to travel at a top speed (速度) of 40 km/h. In the air, they will fly at up to 177 km/h. However, it will still be a long time before we see them in the sky, because they are only allowed for tests and research. Alef still needs to get safety permission (许可) for public roads and regular flights. Even so, over 3,500 people have already pre-ordered the cars at $300,000 each. 25. Why does the writer mention “Hiram Maxim” in paragraph 1? A. To explain how flying cars work. B. To introduce the topic of flying cars. C. To give an example of car designs. D. To describe Maxim’s drawing of a car. 26. What are the founders’ goals for the flying car? ①fly in the air ②run on electricity ③drive on roads ④take off directly A. ①②③ B. ①②④ C. ②③④ D. ①③④ 27. What can we infer from the passage? A. Investors helped the founders build a small model. B. It will only take a short time to complete a flying car. C. The founders got the idea from the movie Back to the Future. D. Flying cars may be able to be used by people in the future. 28. What problems are flying cars facing? A. They don’t have the permission for public use. B. They are too expensive to buy. C. They can’t fly in the sky for a long time. D. Few people want to buy them. C ①”Wait a minute! It’s too hot to eat!” You probably heard it from someone just before you wanted to try a freshly made molten custard bun (流沙包). Many people say when the soft skin of a molten custard bun feels cool enough to eat, the filling (馅) inside is still “burning hot”. ②________ They were surprised to find that the average temperature of the filling can reach 64℃ when the buns are taken out of the steamer. According to scientists, the suggested temperature for food is around 10℃ to 40℃, and food that is over 60℃ can hurt our throat. ③Why does this happen? The secret is in its filling. It isn’t just liquid (液体)—it’s a thick mix of sugar, milk, and egg yolks (蛋黄), which flows (流动) slowly. Because it is not exposed (暴露) to air, once heated, the thick filling keeps heat for a long time. The test shows that after a bun has been out of the steamer for 10 minutes, the temperature inside still remains 58.3℃. Even after 20 minutes, the center still stays warm. ④The temperature difference can be explained using a physics concept (概念) called specific heat capacity (比热容). Something with a low specific heat capacity doesn’t hold much heat and cools down fast. Things with a high specific heat capacity take longer to cool down. Usually, liquids hold heat longer than solids (固体). As a molten custard bun’s filling has more water and fat than its skin, it takes more time to fully cool down. ⑤To avoid being burned, it is advised that when serving such hot food, shops can add warning tips like a simple “Caution: Filling is very hot!” sign to remind people. Providing small spoons to allow customers to check the temperature before eating also helps. A little care prevents accidents and makes dining more enjoyable. ⑥For customers, next time you buy a hot bun, let it sit for at least 15 minutes. You can make a small hole on the skin with your chopstick first, letting the filling cool faster. ⑦Now you know why molten custard buns stay hot inside. Remember: the skin may lie, but the science doesn’t. Stay patient and stay safe. Your tongue will thank you for waiting! 29. Which sentence can be put in the ________? A. People want to know why the filling stays so hot for so long. B. Scientists did a test to find out how hot the filling could be. C. A research team studied how long it took to cool molten custard buns. D. Experts warned that eating hot food quickly could be quite dangerous. 30. Which “thick” in the following sentences has the same meaning as the “thick” in Paragraph 3? A. This book is very thick with over 500 pages. B. Her mother has very thick black hair. C. The honey was too thick to pour out of the bottle. D. He supports the team through thick and thin. 31. Which is the main purpose of the passage? A. To explain how hot the filling of molten custard buns can be. B. To tell the temperature difference between liquids and solids. C. To help people understand the danger of eating hot food. D. To explain why we need to be patient before trying freshly made molten custard buns. 32. Which is the best structure of the passage? A. B. C. D. 第Ⅱ卷(共66分) Ⅴ. 任务型阅读。(共10分)(57-58小题,每小题2分,59-60小题,每小题3分) 阅读下文并回答问题。 Cigla, from a poor family in northern Xizang’s Nagqu City, hopes to get into a sports college and become a professional (专业的) basketball player. Aren’t birds supposed (应该) to use things in nature, like grass, leaves and other parts of trees, to build their homes? Yes, they used to. But now things are different. A group of European scientists looked into about 35,000 studies on bird nests. They found that birds have used man-made things in nests almost everywhere on Earth. Birds “like” putting some rubbish in their nests for some reasons. First, cigarette butts have some chemicals (化学物质), so they can keep insects away and protect the baby birds. Second, plastic bags are useful in keeping the birds warm. Third, other hard things, such as paper cards, can make nests stronger. However, in the end, human rubbish may only bring more problems to birds. The unhealthy chemicals in cigarettes hurt the baby birds. They may get sick or have shorter lives. To make things worse, if the cigarette fire is not off when the bird brings it back to its home, it may set the nest on fire. Seabirds were found to add fishing nets to their nests, which may also cause danger to themselves, and it’s impossible for them to get out by themselves. Our friends in the air are living a hard life because of some human activities. To improve the situation, people shouldn’t be allowed to smoke or leave rubbish behind when there are many trees around. And to make the idea work, people must receive punishment (惩罚) for breaking the rules. We can also play our part by building artificial (人工的) nests that are warm and safe for birds to use instead of forcing (迫使) them to build their own. Summary According to a study, 176 kinds of birds worldwide are using human rubbish like cigarette butts and plastic bags instead of ____54____ to build nests. Birds like putting the rubbish in their nests because it has ____55____. However, they may get sick or die because of the chemicals in cigarettes and the cigarette fire. What’s worse, seabirds can’t get out of their nests if ____56____. To make the situation better, people should ____57____. Alice felt bored and sleepy. 【答案】25. B 26. C 27. D 28. 【26题详解】 第三段指出创始人的目标:“the car can drive on roads, run on electricity, and take off directly.”,即可以在道路上行驶、使用电力、直接起飞。 A项与第二段“they built a small model, and it helped them get money from investors”相悖,是先有模型后有投资;B项与“Each car will take months to complete”矛盾;C项是第二段直接提到的信息“They got the idea from the movie Back to the Future”,属于原文直接陈述,而非推断。 【28题详解】 最后一段指出:“Alef still needs to get safety permission for public roads and regular flights.”,说明飞行汽车面临的问题是尚未获得公共使用的许可。 C ①”Wait a minute! A. B. C. D. 【答案】29. B 30. C 31. D 32. 【答案】54. natural materials 55. some advantages/benefits 56. fishing nets are added 57. avoid smoking or littering and build artificial nests 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文,介绍了全球176种鸟类正在使用人类垃圾(如烟蒂和塑料袋)筑巢的现象,分析了鸟类使用这些垃圾的原因及其带来的危害,并提出了改善这一状况的建议。 【54题详解】 根据第一段中“Aren’t birds supposed to use things in nature, like grass, leaves and other parts of trees, to build their homes?”可知,鸟类过去通常使用大自然中的东西筑巢,此处指“自然材料”,故填natural materials。 【55题详解】 根据第三段中“Birds ‘like’ putting some rubbish in their nests for some reasons.”以及下文列举的三个原因可知,此处概括为“它有一些好处”。故填some advantages/benefits。 【56题详解】 根据第四段中“Seabirds were found to add fishing nets to their nests, which may also cause danger to themselves, and it’s impossible for them to get out by themselves.”可知,如果渔网被加入巢穴中,海鸟就无法逃脱。故填fishing nets are added。 【57题详解】 根据最后一段中“people shouldn’t be allowed to smoke or leave rubbish behind... We can also play our part by building artificial nests”可知,为了改善情况,人们应该避免在自然区域抽烟和乱扔垃圾并建造人工鸟巢。故填avoid smoking or littering and build artificial nests。 Ⅹ. Dear Henry, ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Yours, Li Hua 【答案】例文: Dear Henry, How is everything going?
