According to a recent news report, some cities have reformed their PE tests. Students now can choose from over twenty different sports and activities. The new choices include not only traditional sports like basketball and badminton, but also local traditional games, such as throwing gesio. The purpose is to make PE tests fair and interesting. Different students have different talents. Some may not be good at running but are excellent at throwing or jumping. By offering more choices, the exam allows every student to show their best skills. Another important change is the scoring system. The total score for the PE test has been increased greatly to match other subjects like Chinese or math. This shows that physical health is just as important as other subject scores. The reform encourages students to develop a lifelong habit of sports. It also helps keep traditional games alive.

My father is a quiet but wise man, and one lesson he taught me as a child has stayed with me all these years. It’s the ____26____ to growing in life: never be afraid to try new things.
At seven, I was very shy. If dad’s friends came to our house and asked me questions, I would lower my head. If kids played games on the playground, I would stand and watch instead of joining in. My father ____27____ all this. Then one day, he came home with a new skateboard. “Wanna try?” he asked. I looked at the skateboard and felt ____28____. What if I fell? What if others laughed at me? My father sat down beside me and said, “It’s normal to be afraid. But you’ll never know if you can ride it ____29____ you give it a try.” He held my hand as I stood on the board, feeling nervous. I fell the first time, and the second…My knees hurt, but my father just smiled and said, “____30____. Every fall teaches you something.” After many tries, I ____31____ could stay on the board and moved forward.
As I grew older, I still struggled (挣扎) with fear of new things. Every time I tried something new, my heart beat fast. It was my father who ____32____ me again, “Every try is a small step forward. Even if you fall, you learn something.”
Now, facing bigger choices in life, I still carry my father’s words with me. I don’t let ____33____ stop me from trying. I don’t say “I can’t” before I’ve even begun. Instead, I take a breath, step onto the board, and move forward.

26. B 27. A 28. C 29. B 30. A 31. A 32. C 33. A
固定搭配,the secret to…
when“当……时”、though“虽然”逻辑不通。
【30题详解】
句意:我的膝盖很痛,但父亲只是微笑着说:“起来。每次跌倒都会让你有所收获”
作者摔倒后,父亲鼓励他站起来,应填Get up。Wake up“醒来”、Take up“占据/开始做”不符合句意。

Recently, an illness named Hantavirus (汉坦病毒) appeared on a traveling Dutch ship. By May, there were 8 cases and 3 deaths. Many people are worried. What is Hantavirus? How dangerous is it? Now let’s learn the facts.
Hantavirus is not new. It was first found in 1976. It lives in some kinds of mice and rats. These animals do not get sick, but their waste and pee carry the virus. People get infected (感染) mostly because they breathe in air that has the virus. This can happen when cleaning old houses, stores, or other places where mice have lived. The virus can also enter the body through mouse bites, or by eating or drinking something polluted by mice.
Most people do not get the virus from other people. It is not common.
The early symptoms are like the flu: fever, headache, muscle pain, and tiredness. After a few days, the illness can get worse. Some people get kidney problems. Others have trouble breathing and coughing. This problem is very serious and can cause death. The death rate can be as high as 30~50%.
There is no special medicine to treat Hantavirus. But early medical help can save lives. The best way to stay safe is to keep mice away. Close all holes in your home. Keep food in closed boxes. When cleaning mouse waste, wear a mask and gloves. First use disinfectant (消毒剂), then clean it up. Do not sweep dry waste, because that sends the virus into the air.
Remember: Hantavirus is not so scary. Knowing how to protect yourself can help you stay healthy without fear.
39. What may carry the Hantavirus?
A. Birds. B. Mice. C. Dogs.
40. How do most people get infected with Hantavirus?
A. By drinking polluted water. B. By eating mice meat. C. By breathing in air with the virus.
41. The underlined word in Paragraph 4 means ________ in Chinese.
42. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A. It was the first time the virus was found on the earth.
B. Many people feel worried because the death rate is high.
C. Scientists have developed special medicine for this illness.
43. What’s the best title of the passage?
A. Some Basic Facts about Hantavirus
B. Hantavirus, A New deadly Illness
C. Ways to Stay Safe from Hantavirus
39. B 40. C 41. A 42. B 43. A

第二段指出“People get infected mostly because they breathe in air that has the virus”这直接说明大多数人通过吸入带有病毒的空气而感染。
第四段指出“The early symptoms are like the flu: fever, headache, muscle pain, and tiredness”,并以发烧、头痛、肌肉疼痛等为例,因此symptoms意为“症状”。

On the evening of May 13th, a video became very popular on the Internet. It showed a special moment at Beijing Capital Airport. US President Donald Trump arrived on his plane—“Air Force One”. The large plane moved slowly on the airport ground. Its four engines made a very loud noise and blew out hot air. The ground even shook a little.
But right next to the plane, a young Chinese soldier stood quietly. He was only a few meters away from the plane. The noise was quite loud, and the wind was very strong. However, the soldier did not move at all. He did not blink (眨眼) his eyes or step back. He stood as straight as a tree.
Many foreign reporters were there. One of them took a video and posted it online. The video quickly got millions of views. A US reporter named Jon Michael Raasch wrote, “The engines were roaring loud, but this man didn’t even blink. We respect the spirit and discipline (纪律) of Chinese soldiers.” Many foreign Internet users were surprised. They left words like, “Is he a robot?” “This is amazing!” “How can a man be so calm?” “Chinese soldiers are truly great.”
In fact, being a member of the Chinese military honor guard is not easy. These soldiers train very hard. They learn to stand still in strong wind, heavy rain, and loud noise. They practice not blinking for a very long time. Their strong will and discipline come from thousands of hours of training.
That night, the young soldier did not say a word. But his straight back and steady (坚定的) eyes told the world: This is the spirit of Chinese soldiers. This is the confidence of China.
44. Why did the video become popular online?
A. Because Donald Trump came to China.
B. Because the Chinese soldier stood still.
C. Because Chinese technology is amazing.
45. Who took the video of this soldier?
A. A foreign reporter. B. Another soldier. C. An Internet user.
46. What does Paragraph 3 mainly tell us?
A. The popularity of the video. B. The spirit of Chinese people. C. Foreigners’ ideas about the soldier.
47. Which phrase can best describe the training of those soldiers?
A. Rain or shine. B. Hard and boring. C. Easy and exciting.
48. What does the passage mainly want to show?
A. The influence of China on the world.
B. The strong spirit of Chinese soldiers.
C. The importance of China-US meeting.
44. B 45. A 46. C 47. A 48. B

Do you know?
World Migratory Bird Day is celebrated twice a year—on the second Saturday of May and the second Saturday of October. It wants to help people protect migratory birds and their homes. It first started in America in 1993 and became a world event in 2006.
Every spring and autumn, people across the world celebrate World Migratory Bird Day. The theme (主题) for the year 2026 is “Every Bird Counts—Your Observations Matter!” It asks everyone to join community science projects. You can record the birds you see on eBird. Your records give helpful information to scientists. This helps them protect birds and the places they live.
Why should we protect migratory birds? They travel a long distance between spring and fall. Along the way, they face many dangers like bad weather, loss of resting places, hunting and pollution. These birds help us by eating insects and spreading seeds. If we don’t protect them, fewer birds will return each year. That would be bad for the balance of nature.
Here are four students describing what they did on World Migratory Bird Day this year.
Liu Ying, from Datong
I went to a park with my binoculars (望远镜). Then I watched birds and recorded their colors, sizes, and what they were doing. Later, I shared my notes with a bird group in my city.
Ma Weiming, from Linfen
I joined a clean-up event at a local lake. I picked up plastic bags and bottles. Birds might eat these things and get hurt. By cleaning up, I helped make the lake safe for these birds to rest and find food.
Hu Haitao, from Jincheng
I used the eBird app on my phone. I recorded every bird I saw in the neighborhood. I counted how many there were and where they were. Then I shared my records on eBird.
Niu Peng, from Yangquan
I built a simple birdhouse at home. I used wood and dry grass. I hung the birdhouse in my backyard. It could give birds a safe, dry place to rest during their long journeys.

根据“Thank you so much, Grandma.”

Life is not always smooth sailing. Last term, I failed an important math exam. I felt so sad and helpless that I wanted to give up.
However, my math teacher noticed my low spirits. She didn’t blame me but encouraged me patiently. She told me, “Failure is the mother of success. Believe in yourself!” Her words were like a ray of sunshine, lighting up the darkness in my heart.

A. Birds. B. Mice. C. Dogs.
