A.against B.with C.for

Peking Opera is one of the forms of Chinese traditional culture. In Peking Opera, each character has their own face painted in a 36 way. People can know who the good guy is and who the bad guy is by 37 the face painting.
Where did this kind of face painting come from? An old story tells us that it was related to Prince Lanling. This prince was one of the four most 38 men in ancient China. Some soldiers in the prince’s army 39 that he was weak because of his good-looking face. So, to make himself look 40 , the prince wore a mask with an ugly face painted on it.
Another story about face painting has 41 to do with Li Longji, an emperor in the Tang Dynasty. He loved opera very much. One day, the actor who played the clown (小丑) in Peking Opera fell ill right before a performance, 42 the emperor decided to play this role himself. He covered part of his 43 with a piece of white square jade (玉) so that others wouldn’t be able to recognize him. Therefore, the cover on the clown’s face became a convention (惯例). Later, the actor who played the clown replaced the jade with white powder.
As time went on, face painting started being used to 44 the characters of different roles. It has become one of many special 45 of expression of Peking Opera.

43.A.leg B.arm C.face
44.A.show B.lead C.serve
45.A.skills B.secrets C.ways
36.B 37.A 38.C 39.B 40.A 41.C 42.B 43.C 44.A 45.C
后文“because of his good-looking face”提及王子面容好看,handsome形容男子英俊,和后文外貌描写相呼应。
“the actor who played the clown (小丑) in Peking Opera fell ill right before a performance”和“the emperor decided to play this role himself”是因果关系,因此用so引出结果。

B
Recently, a baby rabbit has been hanging around my backyard. It sometimes nibbles (啃) on green plants or lies lazily in the sunshine. Most of the time, it runs around sharply and rushes into corners so wildly that dirt flies up in messy circles. A human child acting this way would probably be made by their parents to clean up the yard and stay indoors. If only more children could be as lucky as rabbits.
In fact, most young people today aren’t able to enjoy such freedom of movement. The World Health Organization reports that 81 percent of teenagers around the world take insufficient exercise, and it adds that the number of young people who stay still for long hours usually goes up with economic (经济的) growth.
This situation does not happen by chance. Many children fail to reach woods, fields, and other open spaces where they might play freely, while others are not allowed to do such activities by their parents. In the United States, many parents usually stop their children from wild play because of safety worries or the influence of social standards, which require kids to stay quiet in public places like waiting rooms, subways, bookstores and restaurants. However, this preference for calm behavior may wrongly suggest that inactivity is better, despite the fact that physical movement is especially important for children’s development.
Research has found that children who move have healthier bones, muscles, and joints, and a lower future risk of being overweight or developing illnesses; active kids also have better thinking skills, get higher grades, and are more likely to stay on task than kids who are less active. And a recent study suggested that increased sedentary (久坐的) behavior in youth could affect a person’s mental health into adulthood.
Thankfully, providing kids with more freedom doesn’t cost much money. Mostly, it just requires a little creativity. For example, parents can let kids play freely on a cheap yoga ball or do simple movement challenges.
51.How is paragraph 1 developed?
A.By giving examples. B.By making comparisons.
C.By explaining reasons. D.By presenting a research.
52.What does the underlined word “insufficient” mean in paragraph 2?
A.Very safe. B.Not enough. C.Quite popular. D.Never boring.
53.What is paragraph 3 mainly about?
A.Why children are short of free movement.
B.How parents help with kids’ schoolwork.
C.Where children play in open public places.
D.What safety problems kids face outdoors.
54.What advantage can active kids get according to paragraph 4?
A.A lower risk of danger. B.Great housework skills.
C.Better attention control. D.Full prevention of illness.
55.What can be a suitable title for the text?
A.Little Rabbits Want Protection B.The Influence of Social Standards
C.Kids Need More Freedom to Play D.Ways to Improve Teenagers’ Grades
【答案】51.B 52.B 53.A 54.C 55.C
51.第一段通过对比小兔子的自由奔跑和人类孩子被要求待在室内的行为来展开:“A human child acting this way would probably be made by their parents to clean up the yard and stay indoors.”
52.第二段中“…81 percent of teenagers around the world take insufficient exercise”,结合上下文“不能享受自由活动”可知,insufficient意为“不足的”,即not enough。
54.第四段明确指出:“active kids also have better thinking skills, get higher grades, and are more likely to stay on task than kids who are less active.” stay on task即注意力控制更好。
C
① On Sep.23, 2025, a Chinese cargo ship started from Ningbo, cutting through the Arctic (北极) ice toward Europe. On the evening of Oct.13, it arrived safely in the UK. This marked the opening of China’s Arctic shipping route (船运航线), a “Silk Road on Ice” that makes us all proud.
② Instead of taking traditional old routes, the ship went northeast through the Arctic. The trip took about 20 days. That’s 20 days shorter than going through the Suez Canal (苏伊士运河), and 30 days shorter than going around the Cape of Good Hope (好望角). The successful trip means a lot to Chinese. Not only does it show recent development of Chinese technology, but also it may bring big benefits.
③ To achieve this route, we’ve developed strong ships with special devices. Among them, ICRs (船舶智能碰撞预警系统) play an important role in providing early warnings of dangers at sea. Also, if the lane (航道) is covered with thick ice our ships can’t avoid, they are strong enough to break it and keep moving. Besides, Beidou Navigation System, developed independently (独立地) by our own country, makes it possible for the ships to go in the right direction and travel safely. These technologies turn the once dangerous Arctic into a safe and valuable “golden waterway”.
④ Besides, this new route has a lot of benefits (利益). For business, faster shipping helps new products reach European markets much more quickly——especially products for the year-end holidays. The cold Arctic weather also saves money on cooling for high-value things like big power batteries (电池) on the way. For the environment, the shorter trip cuts down waste gas like CO₂. What’s more, it avoids busy traffic problems on the waterway like the Suez Canal.
⑤ Let’s see what Europeans said about the new route. A toy shop owner said, “The Chinese toys will be on sale next week. Last year, I had to wait over a month for holiday toys. This year, it’s much faster! We expect more tourists to travel here!” Another owner who runs a supermarket added, “Since there are more products arriving here, we need more workers to carry our products. But we’re happy to see that.”
⑥ International media also reported on this new route. BBC said it would help China-Europe trade grow more. A Russian TV station noted it would make economic relationship stronger between China, Europe and the world.
⑦ This new route not only shows China’s new ideas in global trade, but also teaches us an important lesson: if we work together, we can find better and greener ways to solve problems. China is now planning to work with other countries to make the route safer and more convenient and help to make the world more connected.
56.Which of the following can be put in ________ in Paragraph 3?
A.They were invented by European scientists. B.They will collect the weather information. C.They can help workers repair the broken parts of the ships. D.They can help the ships go safely around the ice mountains.
57.Who might get the most benefits from the new route according to the passage?
A.Scientists studying the Arctic and ice. B.Workers working in the Suez Canal.
C.European shop owners selling products. D.Chinese tourists traveling to Europe.
58.Which of the following shows the structure of this passage?
A. B.
C. D.
59.What is one advantage of the new Arctic shipping route mentioned in the passage?
A.It reduces transportation time compared to traditional routes.
B.It allows ships to carry more products than before.
C.It requires less fuel because of warmer weather.
D.It is completely free of ice all year round.
60.What will the writer probably discuss after the last paragraph?
A.The challenges ships met in the Arctic in the past.
B.The reasons why China develops the new route.
C.The researches on the Arctic by European scientists.
D.The improvement of the new route in the future.
【答案】56.D 57.C 58.C 59.A 60.D

In the United States, most of our electricity comes from power plants (发电厂) that burn coal and oil.
There are two big problems with using these things for electricity. First, their supply is limited. Second, burning them causes pollution. So to make sure we always have power and to keep our planet clean, we must find other ways to make electricity.
Some people think that wind power is our best choice. First, there will always be more wind. Also, wind power does not pollute the environment. Best of all, we don’t have to search for wind.
Today, less than 1 percent of our electricity comes from wind. But scientists have been developing better wind machines. As a result, wind power is getting more popular in this country.
Yet wind power may not keep growing so quickly in years to come. Why not? Many wind turbines (风力涡轮机) are needed to make much electricity. So wind-power companies try to build wind farms but are competing with other uses for the land. A wind farm is a group of turbines placed close together in an area with frequent winds.
In places where companies try to build wind farms, people think that lines of turbines are ugly. Noise from turbines often troubles people. Also, turbines kill birds that fly into them.
Wind-power supporters disagree. They think the sight of wind turbines is lovely. They point out that people have gotten used to living near noisy highways. They say ways can be found to keep birds away from turbines.
In today’s world, we need clean and unlimited power sources more than ever. Unless a better power source comes along, people may just have to accept wind power as a part of their lives.
61.The underlined part “these things” in the second paragraph refers to ________.
A.frequent winds B.coal and oil
C.power plants D.wind turbines
62.What does the third paragraph mainly discuss?
A.How wind power works. B.How wind power was found.
C.The development of wind power. D.The advantages of wind power.
63.Why may wind power not keep growing so quickly in the future?
A.It is very expensive to build lots of wind turbines.
B.It is difficult to improve the wind power technology.
C.There are few people who accept it as a new power source.
D.Many wind turbines are needed and there is less space for them.
64.Which of the following is the right reason why people don’t support turbines?
a. Lines of turbines are ugly. b. Noise from turbines often troubles people.
c. Turbines kill birds that fly into them. d. Turbines take up too much space.
A.abcd B.acd C.abc D.bcd
65.What would be the best title for the passage?
A.The Power of Wind B.The Role of Wind
C.The Cost of Wind Power D.The History of Wind Power
【答案】61.B 62.D 63.D 64.C 65.A
61.根据第一段“most of our electricity comes from power plants… that burn coal and oil”和第二段“There are two big problems with using these things for electricity”可知,“these things”指代前文提到的用于发电的燃料,即煤炭和石油。
63.根据第五段“Many wind turbines are needed to make much electricity. So wind-power companies try to build wind farms but are competing with other uses for the land.”
64.根据第六段“people think that lines of turbines are ugly. Noise from turbines often troubles people. Also, turbines kill birds that fly into them.”
E
Have you ever had a lot of homework to do but just couldn’t start? You sat at your desk, looking at your books and pens, but did nothing for an hour. You might have checked your phone or looked out of the window instead. This behavior is actually called procrastination (拖延). It is a common problem for many students. 66
How can we fight this bad habit effectively? 67 It is called the “Two-Minute Rule”. The idea is simple: if a task takes less than two minutes, do it right now. If it is a big task, tell yourself, “I will just do it for two minutes.”
68 The reason is that the hardest part of doing something is just starting. Once you start moving, you will usually find the work is not that scary. You might even want to keep going after the two minutes is up.
Another good way is to break a big task into small pieces. 69 For example, don’t think about “writing a whole English paper.” Just think about “writing the first sentence.” After you finish one small step, move on to the next. Before you know it, the whole task will be done.
70 Action is the key to success. Don’t wait for the “perfect time” to start. Just take the first step now, and you will see the change.
A.Why does this rule work?
B.Here is a useful tip to help you.
C.So, stop worrying and start doing.
D.Small steps make huge things easier to accept.
E.It happens when we find a task is too hard or boring.
【答案】66.E 67.B 68.A 69.D 70.C
E选项“It happens when we find a task is too hard or boring.”
B选项 “Here is a useful tip to help you.”
A选项“Why does this rule work?”
D选项“Small steps make huge things easier to accept.”
C选项“So, stop worrying and start doing.” 符合总结性语言,与下文观点一致。

73.A: What can we do to be greener people?
B: ________________________________________________________.

74.—Do you ever think about your hometown?
—Absolutely. ____________________________________________ home for 10 years.
I haven’t been back to my
I haven’t been back to my。
75.A: Could you please tell me ________________________?
B: Sure, the park closes at 8:00 pm every day.
【答案】when the park closes
【解析】根据答句“the park closes at 8:00 pm every day”可知,问句是问公园的关门的时间。 故填when the park closes。
