1.— Look! The students are learning paper cutting in the class.
— Wow! ________ interesting it is!
A.How B.How an C.What D.What an
【答案】A
根据“…interesting it is!” 或What+(a/an)+形容词+名词+主语+谓语!
2.— Do you know ________ tomorrow?
— I’ve no idea. Let’s check the weather report online.
A.when did it start to rain B.when it started to rain
C.when will it start to rain D.when it will start to rain
3.—When I’m worried about speaking in public, my warm classmates are always ________ me and encourage me.
—That’s the nicest kindness from friends.
A.against B.inside C.behind D.opposite
against反对;inside在…… 根据“encourage me”可知,同学们是支持的态度,“be behind sb.”
4.The cleaner ________ cleans the street every day is very hard-working.
A.what B.which C.who D.whose
what什么;which哪一个;who谁;whose谁的。
5.She has an emergency and needs to leave immediately. Could you tell me ______?
A.how long your uncle has married B.how long she will be away
C.what the matter is with the machine D.what the boss complained to me just now
根据“Could you tell me…?” A选项,语序正确,但“has married”中“marry”为瞬间动词,不能与表示持续时间的“how long”连用,应改为“has been married”;D选项,语序正确,但“complain”作及物动词时,通常需接“about”或“that”从句,此处“complained what”用法不正确,应改为“complained about what”,B、C选项,语序和用法都没问题;又根据前一句“She has an emergency and needs to leave immediately.”
6.—Harry used to get nervous when making a speech in class.
—________. He has improved a lot.
A.It never rains but it pours B.One is never too old to learn
C.One tree cannot make a forest D.Where there is a will, there is a way

It never rains but it pours祸不单行;One is never too old to learn活到老学到老;One tree cannot make a forest独木不成林;Where there is a will, there is a way有志者事竟成。根据“He has improved a lot”可知,哈利通过努力克服了紧张的问题取得进步,Where there is a will, there is a way符合语境。故选D。
7.________ you do your homework, ________ mistakes you will make.
A.The more careful; the less B.The more carefully; the fewer

stop playing停止玩耍;keep playing继续玩耍;work too hard工作太辛苦;have no friends没有朋友。 故选A。
9.Lucy doesn’t want to go shopping today, and ________.
A.neither Mary is B.neither does Mary C.neither is Mary D.neither Mary does
根据“Lucy doesn’t want to go shopping today,”可知,Lucy今天不想购物,推测此处应该表示Mary也不想购物。“neither+助动词/情态动词/be动词+主语”为主谓倒装结构,表示 “……也不……”;结合前半句谓语动词“doesn’t want”和选项中的主语“Mary”可知,此处需要使用“neither does Mary”,表示Mary也不想购物,故选B。
10.—Pharmacies (药房) say they’ve recently seen a rapid __________ in requests for such drugs (药物) and many of them are out of stock.

A.when the football match will begin
B.when will the football match begin
C.what will the weather be like tomorrow

再根据答语“Let’s see the weather report.”
13.— Where is my suitcase?

A.to answer B.to be answered C.answering D.being answered
【答案】A

+ to do”结构。在“主语 + be + adj. + to do”结构中,如果形容词描述事物的特征,且句子的主语是不定式动作的承受者时不定式用主动形式表示被动意义,分析题目可知形容词“difficult”描述“question”的特征,而“question”为“answer”的承受者,故选A。

As a university student, I decided to learn German. For some reason, I really liked the language, but I was not very good at learning it. The grammar 15 me a lot and even drove me crazy. My only advantage was 16 — I got an A on every word test I took. After two years of studies, I struggled (挣扎) to communicate in 17 German and signed up to study in Germany to complete my degree. It was the 18 term I would ever have.
The moment I arrived in Germany, I felt like I was starting from scratch The German I’d learned in university wasn’t 19 for everyday conversation. My book knowledge fell by the wayside as I thought about the basics of getting around, reading emails and talking with my classmates. I was often nervous at school, worried about whether the teachers would call on me in class and whether I’d understand their questions. I only 20 a little around my eight roommates, who were willing to speak German slowly to me and didn’t seem to mind my 21 .
I chose to study three courses—reading & writing, grammar and history. All were in German and difficult, but the history class was the worst. The teacher spoke so 22 that almost everything he said flew right over my head. I sat in the front, took notes and even recorded every single word he said in class, but 23 helped. I had no idea what the class was really about.
Years have passed, but I still remember how it felt to struggle so hard at 24 another language. That trip was a difficult but valuable lesson. I think my failure that term taught me just as much as my success.

B
Dear Aunt Aggie,
I’m having a problem with my classmate, Rena, at school. The other day I wrote an email to another classmate, Beth, in which I said some things about Rena that perhaps weren’t very nice. Unluckily, when Beth was writing back to me, she accidentally forwarded (无意间转发) the message to Rena! Now Rena is really angry with me and won’t talk to me, and Beth is unhappy as well. She’s said sorry to me a hundred times already, but the harm is done. I feel bad. How do I get Rena to forgive (原谅) me? What should I do?
Joe
Dear Joe,
This problem is more common than you might think! Email is very useful, but also very dangerous, as you don’t know where your message might end up! First of all, you should say sorry right away to Rena. Explain that it was a mistake, and that you didn’t mean to hurt her feelings. It may take time for her to be able to forgive you, but that’s up to her. Then you might want to do something nice for her. Perhaps send her some flowers to show that you’re truly sorry. Also, you should remember that old saying: “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” And good luck!
Aggie
28.What is Joe’s problem in the first email?
A.Joe made Rena unhappy and he felt very sad.
B.Joe received a wrong email from Rena and became angry.
C.Joe’s classmate, Beth, sent Rena an email and made her unhappy.
D.Joe’s friend, Beth, is unhappy because Joe sent her an angry email.
29.What does the underlined sentence mean in the second email?
A.Because you don’t know who the email is for.
B.Because you never know where the message is from.
C.Because you don’t know where your email was written.
D.Because you can never know who will get your email at last.
30.From the emails, we can infer (推断) that ________.
A.Joe, Rena and Beth study at different schools
B.Beth didn’t forward the message to Rena
C.Joe has already said sorry to Rena
D.Rena hasn’t forgiven Joe yet
【答案】28.A 29.D 30.D
根据“I’m having a problem with my classmate, Rena, at school...but the harm is done. I feel bad. How do I get Rena to forgive (原谅) me? ”可知,Joe给Beth写了一封关于Rena缺点的电子邮件,而Beth却不小心转发给了Rena,因此Rena不高兴,所以在第一封信中,Joe要谈论的问题是让Rena不高兴,他自己很难过。故选A。
根据“How do I get Rena to forgive (原谅) me? What should I do?”

Fred used to spend all his pocket money on snacks and small things. He never thought about saving, so his money always ran out quickly. His father noticed this bad habit and made a plan to help him.
One day, his father asked Fred to record the family’s spending every week. Every day after school, Fred took out a notebook and wrote down everything clearly. He wrote down the cost of food, vegetables, fruit, school things and other daily things. At the end of the week, he added up all the money and checked carefully. He found that a lot of spending was not necessary. Then he made a careful spending plan for the next month.
His father was very pleased. He opened a savings account for Fred and taught him to manage money wisely. Fred put his lucky money and pocket money into the account regularly He took out money only when he needed to buy books or prepare birthday gifts for his parents.

Do you know that your brain can be “cluttered”? Just like a messy room makes it hard to find things, a cluttered brain makes it difficult to think clearly. This often happens when we try to do too many things at once, or when we are always receiving information from phones, computers, and TVs.
Scientists call this “cognitive overload”. When your brain has too much information to process, it becomes slow and tired. You might forget things easily, feel stressed, or find it hard to focus on one task. A study from a top university showed that students who turned off their phones while studying completed their work 40% faster than those who kept their phones nearby.
So how can we “clean” our brain? One simple way is to practice “singletasking” instead of multitasking. Focus on only one thing at a time. For example, when you are reading a book, don’t check your messages at the same time. Another way is to take a “digital break”. Spend 30 minutes a day without any screens—just sit quietly, take a walk, or listen to music. This gives your brain time to rest and organize its thoughts.
Remember, a clean and organized brain works better and helps you feel happier. So, start small today. Put down your phone, take a deep breath, and give your brain the break it truly needs.
34.What does the underlined word “cluttered” in Paragraph 1 probably mean?
A.Smart and quick. B.Messy and crowded.
C.Empty and quiet. D.Powerful and large.
35.What happened to students who turned off their phones while studying?
A.They felt more stressed. B.They finished their work faster.
C.They forgot things more easily. D.They used more singletasking.
36.Which of the following is a “digital break” according to the passage?
A.Playing games on the phone for an hour.
B.Watching a movie on TV with family.
C.Sitting in a park without using any electronic devices.
D.Listening to music while checking emails.
37.What is the main purpose of the passage?
A.To explain why phones are harmful to students.
B.To tell us how to clean a messy room quickly.
C.To introduce the idea of cognitive overload and offer solutions.
D.To compare singletasking with multitasking.
由第一段“Just like a messy room makes it hard to find things, a cluttered brain makes it difficult to think clearly”可知,作者将“cluttered brain”与“messy room”进行类比,一个“messy room”(杂乱的房间)会让人难以找到东西,同样地,一个“cluttered brain”会让人难以清晰地思考。
35.由第二段“students who turned off their phones while studying completed their work 40% faster than those who kept their phones nearby”可知,学习时关掉手机的学生完成作业更快。
36.由第三段“take a ‘digital break’. Spend 30 minutes a day without any screens—just sit quietly, take a walk, or listen to music”可知,“数字休息”指的是不使用任何电子设备,选项中“坐在公园里不使用任何电子设备”符合。

Wolves and dogs are relatives, but they are quite different. Dogs like to stay with humans, while wolves don’t. However, there is an unusual wolf in the Kekexili Nature Reserve in Qinghai.
One summer day, a traveller first met the animal when driving through Kekexili. At that time, the wolf looked thin and weak. She took pity on it and offered it some food. Then she shared the video online. With the spread of the video, a great number of visitors came to feed the wolf tasty food, such as pies and chicken. Gradually, the wild animal learned to beg for a meal from passing vehicles by wagging (摇摆) its tail and rolling on the ground. In the latest video, the wolf has changed greatly in its appearance and behavior. It has put on lots of weight and acts like a dog. And more wolves are behaving like the wolf.
Some netizens (网友) joked that it showed how a wolf changed into a dog. However, many people are worried that feeding wolves may bring many bad results to humans and wolves. On the one hand, wolves are dangerous and may attack humans. Wild animals, especially injured (受伤的) ones, may carry viruses. So humans need to keep a safe distance from them. On the other hand, the feeding behavior is against the law of nature, which easily makes the wolves depend on humans. Also, too many visitors are harmful to their living areas.
In conclusion, though it’s important to protect wolves, humans shouldn’t intervene (干涉) too much.
