According to a recent study, many people believe that healthy food must be more expensive than unhealthy food, and that healthy food just needs to be expensive. In fact, the researcher found that a high-price tag (标签) will even convince consumers that a certain food is healthful.“It's concerning. The findings suggest that price of food alone can affect our understanding of what is healthy,”Rebecca Reczek, researcher of the study, said. According to Reczek, the purpose of the study was to examine the popular belief, also known as a lay (非专业的) theory, that eating healthy food means spending more money. In one experiment, Reczek gave participants a new food product. Some participants were told the product was very healthy.Others were told the product had little nutritional value.Participants who were told the product was good for them rated it as pricier (更昂贵的) than those who thought it was unhealthy. In another experiment, participants were given a health food bar labeled (用标签标明) as “the healthiest protein bar on the planet”.Some participants were told the bar cost just $0.99, while others were told the bar was $4. And here's what happened:The people who were given the“cheaper”bar needed to read more reviews about the product when it was priced at a lower price point in order to trust that it was healthy. The idea that we all believe healthy food needs to be more expensive works against Reczek.“We don't have to be misled,”she said.“We can compare nutrition labels and we can do research before we go to the grocery store. We can use facts rather than our intuition (直觉).” 1.Which of the following statements reflects the author's opinion? A.The cheaper food is the less people will eat. B.People's health awareness needs improving. C.The price of food can't reflect its health degree. D.It is wrong of people to seek health at all costs. 根据第一段中“But we may be overcorrecting, forgetting that‘cheap and healthy’food exists, too.” √ 2.Why did Reczek carry out the study? A.To prove her belief. B.To test a lay theory. C.To promote healthy eating. D.To examine people's idea of health. 根据第三段中“According to Reczek, the purpose of the study was to examine the popular belief, also known as a lay (非专业的) theory, that eating healthy food means spending more money.” √ 3.What does Reczek suggest we do? A.Ignore nutrition labels. B.Believe our intuition. C.Shop smartly. D.Ignore the price tag. 根据最后一段中“‘We don't have to be misled,’she said.‘We can compare nutrition labels and we can do research before we go to the grocery store. We can use facts rather than our intuition (直觉).’” √ 4.What can be the best title for the text? A.People falsely believe pricier food is healthier B.Don't be misled by price tags any more C.What influences our choices when we buy food? D.How to eat cheaply and healthily? 通读全文,结合第二段中“According to a recent study, ...will even convince consumers that a certain food is healthful.” 故A项“People falsely believe pricier food is healthier(人们错误地认为越贵的食物越健康)”能概括文章内容,最适合作文章标题。故选A项。 √ B It's probably not surprising that a new study has linked added sugar consumption to an increased risk of heart disease, but a less expected discovery is that those who have an occasional sweet treat appear to be at a reduced risk of cardiovascular(心血管的)problems. Eating a cake or chocolate bar every so often may be better for your heart than a “zero-sugar” diet, according to the research team from Lund University in Sweden. However, this relationship doesn't ________ other types of sugar consumption, like fizzy drinks and sugary toppings. The researchers looked at records of 69,705 people in Swedish public health databases. The participants, aged between 45 and 83,were quizzed on their diet and lifestyle in 1997 and 2009,and then tracked up to 2019.“The most striking finding is the varying relationship between different sources of added sugar and cardiovascular disease risk,”says epidemiologist Suzanne Janzi.“This surprising contrast highlights the importance of considering not just the amount of sugar consumed, but its source and context.” According to the study, sugar intake was grouped into three categories:sugary toppings, sweet treats, and sweetened beverages(饮料).The type of added sugar consumed was then cross-referred to seven types of cardiovascular diseases, with several other risk factors like smoking taken into account.Research findings also indicated that the lowest risks across all cardiovascular diseases were found in those who limited themselves to sweet treats every now and again. There's a lot to consider when it comes to the different ways we get our sugar.“Liquid sugar, found in sweetened beverages, typically makes you feel less full than solid forms, potentially leading to overconsumption,”says Janzi.“Context also matters—sweet treats are often enjoyed in social settings or special occasions.” Bear in mind that these findings suggest relationships, rather than proving cause and effect. They also don't factor in other health consequences—like damage to teeth. The researchers suggest future studies look in more detail at associations between sugar, heart disease, and obesity, for example.“While our observational study cannot establish causation,it suggests that extremely low sugar intake may not be necessary or beneficial to cardiovascular health,”says Janzi. 5.What does the underlined phrase“hold for”in paragraph 2 refer to? A.Differ from. B.Lead to. C.Apply to. D.Originate from. 根据画线词前文“Eating a cake or chocolate bar every so often may be better for your heart than a‘zero-sugar'diet”和后文“other types of sugar consumption, like fizzy drinks and sugary toppings”以及表转折的副词“However”可知,前文的这种关系并不适用于其他类型的糖摄入,如汽水和含糖配料。 C。 √ 6.Which type of added sugar contributes least to cardiovascular diseases? A.Sugary toppings. B.Sweet treats. C.Solid sugar. D.Sweetened beverages. 根据第四段中的“Research findings also indicated that the lowest risks across all cardiovascular diseases were found in those who limited themselves to sweet treats every now and again.” B。 √ 7.What could Janzi agree with according to the last two paragraphs? A.The context of sugar consumption counts. B.Tooth damage mainly arises from sugar intake. C.Extremely low sugar intake is always necessary. D.Liquid sugar usually creates a feeling of fullness. 根据倒数第二段中的“Context also matters—sweet treats are often enjoyed in social settings or special occasions.(环境也很重要——甜食通常在社交场合或特殊场合享用)”可知,Janzi 认为糖摄入的环境很重要。故选A。 √ 8.What is the best title of the text?
