Review
In 1848, gold was discovered near San Francisco. People came from all over the world to seek their fortune and earn a living, which brought about cultural diversity. However, an earthquake occurred in 1906, claiming over 3,000 lives. Afterwards, a series of fires broke out, destroying more than 80% of the city. Fortunately, San Francisco was able to rebuild itself and and has remained a culturally diverse city ever since.
Apart from its famous landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco is also home to one of the oldest Chinatowns in North America. Visitors can select from a wide variety of Chinese restaurants, offering a wonderful place to escape the typical fast food culture. Visitors to Chinatowns have to admit that it definitely feels good to have a taste of Chinese culture.
