Here, three young readers share the books that stayed with them long after the last page was turned. Each offers a glimpse into a different world. Take a look — you might just discover your next great read. ● Fablehaven by Brandon Mull It is about twins who spend the summer at their grandfather’s nature reserve. Something about it feels a little strange — like there’s more going on than meets the eye. They don’t understand any of the strange rules their grandfather gives them. Little do they know that this is a place for magical creatures. Soon they will learn that the rules are there for a reason. But only once they’re broken... Beatrice C., age 16 ● Five Go Off to Camp by Enid Blyton Four children set off on a camping trip. As they explore the wild countryside, they come across an old, forgotten railway yard. There, a mysterious man called Wooden Leg Sam warns them to stay away. But curiosity gets the better of the young adventurers, and they decide to explore anyway — only to find themselves trapped in a tunnel, where something incredible awaits them. Matilda W., age 17 ● Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls Billy has been longing for a pair of red hounds (猎犬) — a desire his family cannot afford. So, he spends two years taking on any work he can find. The story follows his journey: earning enough, getting his dogs, training them with care, and finally winning a hunting competition. The book tells the unbreakable bond between a boy and his two best friends. However, have a tissue box nearby for the ending. Lucie D., age 17 Do you have a favorite book? Email your review to cricket@cricketmagkids.com. 1. What do the first two book reviews have in common? A. Both are about summer vacations. B. Both take place in nature reserves. C. Both are recommended by 17-year-olds. D. Both involve ignoring warnings and exploring. 2. What might we infer about the ending of the third book? A. It is very funny. B. It is boring. C. It is full of actions. D. It is heart-breaking. 3. Where is this passage most likely taken from? A. A teenage magazine. B. A travel website. C. An adventure novel. D. A history textbook. D 2. D 3. 根据第一本书籍介绍段“They don’t understand any of the strange rules their grandfather gives them. Little do they know that this is a place for magical creatures. Soon they will learn that the rules are there for a reason. But only once they’re broken... (他们不理解祖父给他们的任何奇怪规则。他们一点也不知道这是一个神奇生物的地方。很快他们就会知道这些规则是有原因的。但只有当它们被打破时……)”第二本书籍介绍段“There, a mysterious man called Wooden Leg Sam warns them to stay away. But curiosity gets the better of the young adventurers, and they decide to explore anyway — only to find themselves trapped in a tunnel, where something incredible awaits them.(在那里,一个名叫“木腿山姆”的神秘男子警告他们不要靠近。但年轻探险家们的好奇心占了上风,他们还是决定进去探索——结果却发现自己被困在了一条隧道里,而那里正有着令人难以置信的景象在等待着他们。)”可知,两本书的共同之处是主角都无视警告并主动探索未知事物。 【2题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三本书籍介绍段“However, have a tissue box nearby for the ending.(不过,阅读结局时请准备好纸巾。)” B Frida Kahlo remains one of the most iconic and influential artists of the 20th century — not merely for her paintings, but for the extraordinary life she lived. With her traditional Mexican dresses, and a resolute gaze that meets viewers, she created art that was deeply personal yet universally resonant “My painting contains in it the message of pain,” she once said. Kahlo’s childhood was marked by adversity. At six, she was infected with polio, which caused her right leg a slight limp. Yet the young Frida was spirited and unbowed. Her life transformed at 18 when a bus accident left her seriously injured: her spine was broken in three places, her pelvis crushed, and her right leg shattered in eleven places. She would later remark with characteristic dark humor that the accident “took my virginity (贞洁)”. During months in bed, her mother placed a mirror above her and gave her paints. “I paint myself because I am often alone and because I am the subject I know best,” she explained. Painting became both a lifeline and a means of documenting her reality. Frida Kahlo produced around 200 paintings, most of them self-portraits. Though some called her a Surrealist, Kahlo fiercely rejected the label. “I never painted dreams. I painted my own reality,” she insisted. Her work mixed Mexican folk art with raw honesty about her suffering. In The Broken Column (1944), she showed herself with a cracked spine held together by nails. Even her medical corsets (束身衣) that limited her body became canvases — she painted butterflies on them. André Breton, the leader of the Surrealist movement, described her work as “a ribbon around a bomb’’. Kahlo transformed suffering into art and personal tragedy into universal statements about the human condition. More than six decades after her death, she continues to attract audiences because she remains utterly herself. 4. What makes Frida Kahlo an influential figure? A. Her personal paintings. B. Her art and life story. C. Her traditional dresses. D. Her pain and struggle. 5. Why did Kahlo reject the Surrealist label? A. Because her art was based on her real life. B. Because she preferred to be called a folk artist. C. Because she claimed to be a painter of dreams. D. Because her work was too universal for the label. 6. What does Andre Breton imply by describing Kahlo’s work as “a ribbon around a bomb” in paragraph 3? A. Kahlo’s art shows more pain than beauty. B. Kahlo’s art turns bombs into ribbons. C. Kahlo’s art combines beauty with suffering. D. Kahlo’s art features ribbons and bombs. 7. Which of the following best describes Kahlo? A. Tough and creative. B. Humorous and easy-going. C. Dynamic and generous. D. Optimistic and self-centered. 【答案】4. B 5. A 6. C 7. A 【解析】 【导语】本文介绍艺术家弗里达・卡罗的坎坷人生与艺术成就,讲述她将个人痛苦转化为艺术,用真实且有力量的作品打动世人。 【4题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段“Frida Kahlo remains one of the most iconic and influential artists of the 20th century — not merely for her paintings, but for the extraordinary life she lived.(弗里达・卡罗仍是 20 世纪最具标志性和影响力的艺术家之一,这不仅源于她的画作,更源于她非凡的人生经历。)”可知,她的艺术成就与人生故事共同造就了她的影响力。 【5题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“Though some called her a Surrealist, Kahlo fiercely rejected the label. “I never painted dreams. I painted my own reality,” she insisted.(尽管有人称她为超现实主义者,但卡罗强烈拒绝这一标签。她坚称:“我从不画梦境,我画的是我自己的现实。”)”可知,她拒绝该标签是因为自己的艺术基于真实生活。 【6题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段“Her work mixed Mexican folk art with raw honesty about her suffering. In The Broken Column (1944), she showed herself with a cracked spine held together by nails. Even her medical corsets (束身衣) that limited her body became canvases — she painted butterflies on them.(她的作品将墨西哥民间艺术与对自身苦难不加掩饰的坦诚融为一体。在1944年的《断裂的脊柱》中,她描绘了自己断裂的脊柱被钉子固定在一起的模样。就连那些束缚着她身体的医用束身衣,也成了她的画布 —— 她在上面画满了蝴蝶。)”可知,“炸弹上的丝带”比喻她的作品兼具外在的美感与内在的痛苦力量。 【7题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段“Yet the young Frida was spirited and unbowed.(然而年轻的弗里达精神饱满、不屈不挠)”以及第三段“Even her medical corsets that limited her body became canvases — she painted butterflies on them.(就连束缚她身体的医疗束身衣也成了画布 —— 她在上面画满了蝴蝶。)”可知,弗里达・卡罗性格坚韧且极具创造力。 C Curiosity is a familiar feeling among people. Is curiosity a positive feeling or a negative feeling? Is it a painful reminder of what we don’t (yet) know, or an exciting signal to what we might soon discover? In fact, curiosity can be all of these things, and more. It has positive and negative faces: one points towards what we want, and one points towards what we have not yet got and may never get. Once we recognize that curiosity has two faces, we can consider what can affect the nature of our experience in a given case. A paper published in the journal Cognition and Emotion does just this for the dimension (维度) of time. The researchers ask: Is the experience of curiosity more likely to be positive when we expect that our curiosity will be satisfied sooner rather than later? To answer this question, the researchers carried out three studies with a total of over 200 participants from a university or online. In each study, the researchers induced (诱导) a state of curiosity by telling participants that they would later watch a video about “something with different shades of brown”. Participants were invited to guess what it might be, but they were not told. Half the participants were told they would watch the video after a short delay (延迟) of only one minute, and half were told that there would first be a 30-minute delay during which they would finish other interesting tasks. At the start of the delays, everyone expressed how curious they felt about the content of the video, as well as how much they felt negative feelings, such as discomfort, against positive feelings, such as happiness. The key finding was that while both groups reported equal levels of curiosity, the curiosity was accompanied by more negative feelings for those participants facing a long delay. The researchers argue that the finding sheds light on the two faces of curiosity. When our curiosity will not be satisfied anytime soon, we focus on not knowing, which is annoying. But when our curiosity is on the verge (边缘) of being satisfied, we focus on almost knowing, which is a more positive experience. 8. What is the function of the questions in paragraph 1? A. To introduce the topic. B. To show the author’s attitude. C. To present supporting evidence. D. To provide background information. 9. What did the research focus on? A. The two sides of curiosity. B. Delay’s effect on task performance. C. Curiosity differences between people. D. Factors affecting the experience of curiosity. 10. Why did the researchers divide participants into two groups? A. To collect more research data. B. To test different levels of curiosity. C. To compare effects of different delays. D. To discover different types of curiosity. 11. What did the study find about curiosity? A. The more we focus on not knowing, the more curious we become. B. Longer waiting time makes people less curious about the unknown. C. The experience of curiosity depends on how soon it will be satisfied. D. Curiosity itself determines whether the experience is positive or negative. 【答案】8. A 9. D 10. C 11. C 【解析】 【导语】文章主要说明了好奇心有正反两面。研究通过长短等待对照实验发现,好奇心本身强度相近,能否快速解惑,决定其带来的感受是积极愉悦还是烦躁消极。 【8题详解】 推理判断题。根据第一段“Curiosity is a familiar feeling among people. Is curiosity a positive feeling or a negative feeling? Is it a painful reminder of what we don’t (yet) know, or an exciting signal to what we might soon discover? In fact, curiosity can be all of these things, and more. It has positive and negative faces: one points towards what we want, and one points towards what we have not yet got and may never get.(好奇心在人们当中是一种常见的感受。那么,好奇心到底是积极的情感还是消极的情感呢?它是对我们尚未知晓之事的痛苦提醒,还是对我们即将发现之事的令人兴奋的信号?实际上,好奇心可以是上述所有这些,甚至更多。它既有积极的一面,也有消极的一面:一面指向我们所渴望的事物,另一面指向我们尚未拥有且可能永远无法得到的东西)”可知,第一段中的这些问题用于引入主题。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段“Once we recognize that curiosity has two faces, we can consider what can affect the nature of our experience in a given case.(一旦我们认识到好奇心具有两面性,我们就可以思考在特定情况下哪些因素会影响我们的体验性质)”可知,这项研究的重点是影响好奇心体验的因素。 【10题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“Half the participants were told they would watch the video after a short delay (延迟) of only one minute, and half were told that there would first be a 30-minute delay during which they would finish other interesting tasks. At the start of the delays, everyone expressed how curious they felt about the content of the video, as well as how much they felt negative feelings, such as discomfort, against positive feelings, such as happiness.(一半的参与者被告知他们只需等待短短一分钟就会观看视频,而另一半参与者则被告知在等待期间(即先会有30分钟的延迟)他们需要完成一些有趣的任务。在延迟开始时,每个人都会表达自己对视频内容的浓厚兴趣,以及对负面情绪(如不适)的强烈感受,同时也会表达以及自身感受到的正面情绪(如快乐)的程度)”可知,研究人员将参与者分成两组是为了比较不同延迟所产生的效果。 【11题详解】 细节理解题。根据最后一段“When our curiosity will not be satisfied anytime soon, we focus on not knowing, which is annoying. But when our curiosity is on the verge (边缘) of being satisfied, we focus on almost knowing, which is a more positive experience.(当我们的好奇心短期内无法得到满足时,我们就会专注于“不知道”的状态,这令人感到烦恼。但当我们的好奇心即将得到满足时,我们就会专注于“几乎知道”的状态,这则是一种更为积极的体验)”可知,这项研究发现好奇心的体验取决于它何时能得到满足。 D In the field of wearable technology, a breakthrough invention has caught worldwide attention: a flexible skin-like sensor powered by human sweat, developed by a joint research team from Chinese and American universities. Unlike traditional wearable devices such as smart watches that depend on batteries, this new thin-film sensor operates completely on energy produced by human sweat, marking a significant step toward self-powered wearable electronics. The sensor, as thin as a piece of paper, can be comfortably attached to human skin without any pressure or discomfort. It is embedded with special enzyme materials that generate electricity by reacting with substances in human sweat, such as lactic acid and glucose. The electricity produced is enough to support the device’s normal work of monitoring body signals, including heart rate, body temperature and muscle tension. What’s more, the sensor can store extra energy for use when sweat is not available, ensuring continuous and stable operation. One of the most important advantages of this sweat-powered device is its environmental friendliness. Traditional wearable electronics rely heavily on lithium batteries, which contain heavy metals and cause serious environmental pollution after being abandoned. In contrast, the new sensor uses harmless biological materials and produces no waste during use. It also avoids the trouble of frequent charging, bringing great convenience to users in long-term health monitoring. At present, the sensor has successfully passed laboratory tests and preliminary clinical trials. Researchers have proved that it can work continuously for more than 12 hours on a small amount of sweat and maintain high accuracy in data collection. Although the current version is still designed for medical monitoring, the team believes the technology can be applied to more fields in the future, such as sports training, virtual reality control and daily health management. Industry experts believe this sweat-powered technology will reshape the future of wearable electronics. It solves two main problems of traditional wearables: battery limitation and environmental pollution. With further optimization and mass production, this skin-friendly, self-powered sensor is expected to become a mainstream product in the next generation of wearable devices, providing safer and more convenient health monitoring solutions for human beings. 12. What is the biggest difference between the new sensor and traditional wearable devices? A. It is thinner and more comfortable to wear. B. It is powered by human sweat instead of batteries. C. It can monitor more body signals than smart watches. D. It can be used for a longer time without any maintenance. 13. What does the underlined word “embedded” in Paragraph 2 probably mean? A. Removed. B. Implanted. C. Compared. D. Decorated. 14. What can be inferred about the future of the sweat-powered sensor? A. It will be used in more areas beyond medical monitoring. B. It will completely take the place of smart watches soon. C. It will be produced in small quantities due to high cost. D. It will reduce people’s ability to produce sweat naturally. 15. Which of the following is the best title for the text? A. A New Trend: The Future Healthy Life with Wearable Devices. B. Environmental Protection in Modern Electronic Industry. C. How to Improve Battery Life of Wearable Technology. D. A Sweat-Powered Sensor: The Future of Wearable Tech. 【答案】12. B 13. B 14. A 15. D 【解析】 【导语】文章主要介绍中美联合研究团队研发出一种由人体汗液供能的柔性皮肤状传感器,它与传统可穿戴设备不同,以汗液为能源,具有环保、使用方便等优势,有望重塑可穿戴电子设备的未来。 【12题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段“Unlike traditional wearable devices such as smart watches that depend on batteries, this new thin-film sensor operates completely on energy produced by human sweat, marking a significant step toward self-powered wearable electronics.(与依赖电池的传统可穿戴设备如智能手表不同,这种新型薄膜传感器完全由人体汗液产生的能量驱动,这标志着向自供电可穿戴电子产品迈出了重要一步)”可知,新传感器与传统可穿戴设备最大的区别在于它由人体汗液供能而非电池。 【13题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第二段“The sensor, as thin as a piece of paper, can be comfortably attached to human skin without any pressure or discomfort. It is embedded with special enzyme materials that generate electricity by reacting with substances in human sweat, such as lactic acid and glucose.(这种传感器像纸一样薄,可以舒适地附着在人体皮肤上,没有任何压力或不适。它embedded特殊的酶材料,这些材料通过与人体汗液中的乳酸和葡萄糖等物质发生反应来发电)”可知,传感器中含有特殊的酶材料才能发电,所以“embedded”意思应该是“植入;嵌入”,与“Implanted”意思相近。 【14题详解】 推理判断题。根据第四段“Although the current version is still designed for medical monitoring, the team believes the technology can be applied to more fields in the future, such as sports training, virtual reality control and daily health management.(尽管目前的版本仍为医疗监测而设计,但该团队相信这项技术未来可应用于更多领域,如体育训练、虚拟现实控制和日常健康管理)”可知,汗液供能传感器未来将在医疗监测之外的更多领域得到应用。 【15题详解】 主旨大意题。文章主要介绍了一种由汗液供能的传感器,讲述其工作原理、优势以及未来应用前景,这种传感器有望成为可穿戴技术的未来发展方向,D选项“一种汗液供能传感器:可穿戴技术的未来”为最佳标题。 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 A recent report, published in The Lancet in 2025, found that more than half of the world’s population struggles to access healthy diets. This doesn’t just impact our health and well-being, but also has real consequences on our environment, with around 30% of all the greenhouse gases we produce coming from our food systems. ____16____ Enter the planetary health diet (PHD) — a recommendation that can not only improve our health, but also reduce diet-related chronic disease, and potentially reduce the food-related emissions we make by an impressive 50% by 2050. ____17____ But what actually is the PHD? ____18____ It recommends at least five portions of fruit and veg a day, a portion of legumes, a portion of nuts, and plenty of whole grains. Animal products aren’t necessarily off the menu altogether, but it’s suggested that chicken, fish, and red meat play a much smaller role in your diet. It also suggests consuming seasonally available foods, with flexibility for different cultures centred around local dishes and produce. Why should we follow it? The environmental benefits of the PHD could be huge, purely from its reduction of animal-produce. It offers flexibility without requiring the full commitment of going meat-free. ____19____ It could prevent 11 million premature adult deaths every year, and is linked with reducing cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and even cancer. How can we follow it? ____20____ The PHD isn’t about a huge diet transformation, but consistent small steps that make a massive impact. A simple way to begin is to adjust your plate division, eat a “rainbow” of fruit and veg, and gradually reduce daily meat consumption. Even following a few of its core ideas can bring great benefits for your health and the environment. A. Evidence reveals that it comes with notable health benefits, too. B. It sounds like a win-win for both our own well-being and the world. C. The PHD’s environmental benefits come fully from vegan principles. D. You don’t need to completely change your eating habits to follow the PHD. E. The PHD is centred around a plant-rich diet, but with a more flexible approach. F. The PHD has become the most popular dietary trend in countries across the world. G. These findings have set off alarm bells among health and environmental experts worldwide. 【答案】16. G 17. B 18. E 19. A 20. D 【解析】 【导语】文章主要介绍了行星健康饮食(PHD)的概念、益处以及如何遵循这种饮食方式。 【16题详解】 上文“A recent report, published in The Lancet in 2025, found that more than half of the world’s population struggles to access healthy diets. This doesn’t just impact our health and well-being, but also has real consequences on our environment, with around 30% of all the greenhouse gases we produce coming from our food systems.(2025年发表在《柳叶刀》上的一份最新报告发现,世界上一半以上的人口难以获得健康饮食。这不仅影响我们的健康和福祉,而且对我们的环境也有实际影响,我们产生的所有温室气体中约有30%来自我们的食物系统)”说明了饮食问题带来的双重负面影响。空处承接上文研究发现,引发后续解决方案的介绍。所以G项“这些发现为全球健康和环境专家敲响了警钟”符合语境,其中These findings指代上文报告得出的所有结论。 【17题详解】 上文“Enter the planetary health diet (PHD) — a recommendation that can not only improve our health, but also reduce diet-related chronic disease, and potentially reduce the food-related emissions we make by an impressive 50% by 2050.(引入行星健康饮食——这一建议不仅可以改善我们的健康,还可以减少与饮食相关的慢性疾病,并有可能到2050年将我们与食物相关的排放量减少惊人的50%)”说明了该饮食方式对人体和环境的双重益处。空处总结上文优势,进一步说明行星健康饮食的益处。所以B项“这对人类健康和地球环境而言是双赢之举”符合语境。 【18题详解】 上文“But what actually is the PHD?(但是PHD到底是什么?)”说明下文要解释PHD是什么。下文“It recommends at least five portions of fruit and veg a day, a portion of legumes, a portion of nuts, and plenty of whole grains. Animal products aren’t necessarily off the menu altogether, but it’s suggested that chicken, fish, and red meat play a much smaller role in your diet. It also suggests consuming seasonally available foods, with flexibility for different cultures centred around local dishes and produce.(它建议每天至少吃五份水果和蔬菜,一份豆类,一份坚果,以及大量的全谷物。动物产品并不一定完全不在菜单上,但建议鸡肉、鱼和红肉在你的饮食中扮演更小的角色。它还建议食用当季食物,根据当地菜肴和农产品,灵活适应不同文化)”说明PHD是以植物为主的饮食,但方法更灵活。空处需要总述行星健康饮食的核心特点。所以E项“PHD以植物丰富的饮食为中心,但方法更灵活。”符合语境。 【19题详解】 上文“The environmental benefits of the PHD could be huge, purely from its reduction of animal-produce. It offers flexibility without requiring the full commitment of going meat-free.(PHD的环境效益可能是巨大的,仅仅是因为它减少了动物产品的生产。它提供了灵活性,而不需要完全不吃肉)”说明PHD的环境效益和灵活性。下文“It could prevent 11 million premature adult deaths every year, and is linked with reducing cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and even cancer.(它每年可以防止1100万成年人过早死亡,并与减少心血管疾病、糖尿病甚至癌症有关)”说明PHD对健康的好处。空处衔接上下文,过渡到健康益处。所以A项“证据表明它也具备显著的健康益处”符合语境。 【20题详解】 上文“How can we follow it?(我们如何遵循它?)”说明下文要解释如何遵循PHD。下文“The PHD isn’t about a huge diet transformation, but consistent small steps that make a massive impact. A simple way to begin is to adjust your plate division, eat a “rainbow” of fruit and veg, and gradually reduce daily meat consumption. Even following a few of its core ideas can bring great benefits for your health and the environment.(PHD并不是关于巨大的饮食转变,而是持续的小步骤,这些小步骤会产生巨大的影响。一个简单的开始方法是调整你的盘子分配,吃“彩虹”般的水果和蔬菜,并逐渐减少每日肉类消费。即使遵循其中的一些核心思想,也能给你的健康和环境带来巨大的好处)”说明遵循PHD不需要完全改变饮食习惯。空处总领段落,介绍践行该饮食方式的门槛。所以D项“践行行星健康饮食无需彻底改变饮食习惯”契合下文核心内容。 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) Helen’s eyes were fixed on the dress she was trying to put on as she stood in front of the mirror. The dress was ____21____, but she could manage. “Where are we going, Dad?” she asked softly, breaking the quiet of the morning. These days, moments like this with her father were ____22____ . He was always busy, working day and night to ____23____ the family through hard times. “We’re going to collect the rent.” Helen’s father said as he walked out and started the car engine. So that was why he had time for Helen today. Before the economy ____24____, when their family’s store had still been successful, her father had ____25____ two houses and rented them as apartments. Helen couldn’t ____26____ where their family would be without that rent. Anyhow, she knew that their life would be much ____27____ if they were to lose that rent. “But, Dad, why not sell the houses?” Helen suggested. “We could get much cash at once and pay off all our ____28____.” Her father looked at her, tired but gentle. He sighed and shook his head. “Helen, if we sell now, we’ll have a lot of money. But what if we ____29____ it all before the economy gets better? And where would our lodgers (租户) that even lack food move?” Helen ____30____, thinking that made sense. Patrick guided the camper (露营车) out of their quiet village while Evelyne sat beside him, one hand resting on the small carrier (宠物箱) in her lap, the other holding her phone. Through the window, she filmed the vineyards rolling by like green rivers. “Say hi to everyone,” asked Evelyne, turning the camera toward Patrick. Then she turned the phone toward the carrier. Inside, Filou — a tiny ball of black and white fur with curious green eyes — meowed (喵喵叫) softly at every passing bird. She posted the video later that morning, adding a few simple words: “Road trip: ON.” Within minutes, comments began to appear. Her followers — over three thousand of them — loved these small glimpses into her life. Among the likes and emojis, one comment caught her attention: “Cats are born curious explorers!” Evelyne smiled and slipped her phone back into her pocket, never knowing what would happen next. Filou was barely a year old, full of energy and curiosity. He pressed his nose against the glass of the car window, eager to explore the world outside. Each time a tree cast its shadow across the window, he would tilt (倾斜) his head. Each time a bird flew over the sky, he would fix his eyes on it. “He never misses a thing,” Patrick said, glancing at the rearview mirror. After hours of driving, they stopped at a rest area. Stepping out of the camper, they smelt the aroma (香气) of coffee. “Let’s grab a coffee, shall we?” Patrick suggested. Evelyne nodded. “See you in a minute,” she kissed Filou goodbye on the head and ran to her husband, leaving the passenger window open a crack to let in fresh air. They walked into the small cafe and enjoyed the peaceful afternoon. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 When they returned to the camper, the carrier was empty. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The next morning, she received a comment below her post. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 When they returned to the camper, the carrier was empty. Evelyne’s heart sank instantly, and she called Filou’s name frantically. Patrick checked around the camper, while she ran along the rest area, her eyes scanning every corner. They asked the cafe staff for help, but no one had seen the tiny cat. Evelyne felt tears welling up, blaming herself for leaving the window open. They searched until dusk, calling Filou’s name, but there was no response. Heartbroken, they had to stay at the rest area for the night, hoping he would come back. The next morning, she received a comment below her post. It read: “I saw a black and white cat near the rest area yesterday! He followed me to my farm, and he’s safe now.” Evelyne’s hands shook as she replied, asking for the farm’s address. They rushed there immediately, and when they called Filou’s name, the tiny cat ran toward them, meowing happily. Tears of joy streamed down Evelyne’s face as she held him tightly. She later posted a photo of Filou, thanking her follower, and realized that kindness and connection could turn a disaster into a blessing. 呼喊:call/shout ②. 寻找:search/look for ③. 回复:reply/respond 情绪类 ①. 焦急地:frantically/anxiously ②. 伤心的:heartbroken/sad 【点睛】[高分句型1]. B Frida Kahlo remains one of the most iconic and influential artists of the 20th century — not merely for her paintings, but for the extraordinary life she lived. With her traditional Mexican dresses, and a resolute gaze that meets viewers, she created art that was deeply personal yet universally resonant (产生共鸣的). “My painting contains in it the message of pain,” she once said. C Curiosity is a familiar feeling among people. D In the field of wearable technology, a breakthrough invention has caught worldwide attention: a flexible skin-like sensor powered by human sweat, developed by a joint research team from Chinese and American universities. C. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) Helen’s eyes were fixed on the dress she was trying to put on as she stood in front of the mirror. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
