Volunteering is one of the most meaningful things in life. Last month, I took part in a volunteer activity. This term, we learned about classic literature and volunteer activities in Units 7 and 8. I have read several classic works and taken part in a volunteer activity, which brought me a lot of 1 . One of my favorite classic novels is Journey to the West, a famous Chinese literary work.
The novel tells a story of four people who go on a long journey to get Buddhist scriptures. They 2 many difficulties along the way, but they never give up. The main character, Monkey King, is brave and smart. He always 3 his friends when they are in trouble. This novel teaches me that we should be brave and helpful, just like the spirit of 4 .
Last month, I joined a volunteer group to help homeless children. We 5 books and toys to them and taught them to read. When I saw the children’s happy faces, I felt a strong sense of 6 . I realized that helping others is a kind of happiness. The volunteer activity made me understand the meaning of 7 and selflessness.
Both classic literature and volunteer activities have changed me a lot. Reading classic works enriches my mind and 8 my literary taste. Doing volunteer work lets me know that small acts of kindness can make a big difference. I decided to read more classic works and 9 more time in volunteering. I believe these experiences will help me grow into a person with love and 10 .

根据“have a great ... on”搭配,可知此处需填名词effect,have an effect on意为“对……
根据后文“so that…could enter it”及短语lock up“锁上、封闭”,可知此处填动词lock,他决定把花园锁起来,不让任何人进入。

文中“he could help her”是Chrissy的疑问,whether引导宾语从句可表达“是否”的含义,符合语境。

“time is a fourth…”
根据下文“but not up and down in Space”,此处列举空间中的移动方向,应选用right表示“向右”,与left相对。
