Is AI Good for Our Life?
In my opinion, AI is truly good for our life. It brings us great convenience and helps us work out problems more easily.
Last month, I had difficulty with my English grammar exercises and felt upset. Then I started to use an AI learning tool. I typed the difficult grammar rules into it, and it explained them in simple words with useful examples. It also offered some short passages for me to practice. With its help, I made great progress and became more confident in English.
AI is like a smart helper. It saves our time and makes our life better. Let’s use AI wisely and enjoy its benefits!

Do you know that a lot of pollution in the world comes from inside your home-bricks (砖块)? According to the United Nations Environment Program, about 40 percent of human-made CO₂ comes from building materials.
What if nature could help us make bricks in a cleaner way?
In fact, scientists are working on making bricks out of mushrooms right now. For example, Mr. Han Wosten and his team are creating mushroom bricks. They combine mushrooms with agricultural (与农业有关的) waste, such as straw (稻草).
The mushrooms grow on the straw for about two weeks. Then they can be made into different materials. “If we press it, we can get something like a board,” Wosten said.
Making mushroom bricks creates much less CO₂ than materials like bricks. ▲ So we don’t have to worry about them polluting the land when they are thrown away. Mushroom materials can also fix themselves. If the wall in your house is broken, you can re-grow the mushrooms to fix it. NASA scientists even hope to use them to “grow” houses on the moon or Mars. This way, they wouldn’t need to bring heavy building materials into space.
There is still a lot of research to do, though. “It’s very early to say your house will be all made of mushrooms,” said a researcher. Still, progress is being made, and the future of mushroom materials looks bright.

C. They are also cheap. D. They are also natural.
29. What can we learn from the last paragraph?
A. Mushroom bricks haven’t been widely used yet.
B. Some people are already living in mushroom houses.
C. Most people don’t like the idea of mushroom-made houses.
D. Traditional bricks will soon disappear.
30. What’s the main idea of this passage?

Should We Use AI in Daily Life?
Now, AI (Artificial Intelligence) is widely used in many aspects (方面) of our daily life, such as study, work and entertainment. Last week, we asked our readers to vote (投票) on whether they think using AI is good or not. We got 4,000 votes in total. The result is shown by the pie chart on the right.
Here are some opinions from the readers:
AI helps me a lot with my homework. I don’t do well in math. When I can’t work out a math problem, AI can explain it step by step, and also give me some similar exercises. It’s like having a tutor (家庭教师) anytime.
— Lisa
AI makes my life easier. My AI speaker can play music, tell stories and even help me set reminders. It’s like a close friend who is always by my side. It’s very convenient. — Jack
I’m worried that AI might take away jobs because AI knows a lot and can do most things. However, sometimes AI provides wrong information. We need to make sure whether it is right or wrong. We can’t just rely on it. — Emma
AI games are fun, but spending too much time on them is bad for our health. We should use AI properly and not let it control our lives. — David
In a word, every coin has two sides. AI has both advantages and disadvantages. It’s up to us to use it wisely.
