Each year, we get lots of cards from friends—some with family photos, some with bright holiday wishes. This year, I wanted to send out cards with nice family pictures. After taking my two sons to school, I called a local photographer. He said he could come on Sunday morning. He told us all to wear white shirts. I thought it would be perfect. But I had so much to do—shopping, cooking, and taking care of everyone. On top of that, I had to find white shirts for the whole family. I finally bought white polo shirts for all of us. I felt proud and excited. Everything was ready! But on Saturday night, when I said good night to my younger son Jim, I noticed his hair. It was a complete mess! He really needed a haircut, and it was too late to go to a salon (美发厅). Then I had an idea. I got my scissors and made our bathroom into a little “salon”. My son sat still while I tried to cut his hair. When I finished, we looked at each other ... It was terrible! I had never cut hair before. What was I thinking? I told my husband what happened. He gave Jim a funny look and said, “This is the worst haircut ever!” I felt awful. But then he smiled and said, “Don’t be so sad. Their journey from a simple idea to a popular food is amazing. Momofuku Ando, the founder of Nissin Foods, invented instant noodles. Nissin Foods is a famous Japanese food company. After World War II, Japan was poor and there was not enough food. Ando wanted to make a cheap, quick meal. He spent a year trying different ways. In 1958, he introduced “Chicken Ramen (拉面) ”, the world’s first instant noodle product. The product became popular because of a special way of cooking: quick-frying. This method took water out of the noodles quickly, so they could stay fresh for a long time. By just adding hot water, people could prepare a meal in a minute. Also, Ando knew taste was important. “Chicken Ramen” had a chicken soup flavor (味道), and it tasted like real Japanese ramen, so the cheap, quick and delicious food was soon enjoyed by more and more people. In the 1970s, Nissin Foods introduced something new: cup noodles. People didn’t need a bowl — they just added hot water to the cup! This made instant noodles even easier to eat and widely loved, especially by students and busy workers. Soon, instant noodles went to many other countries. In Asia and Africa, they used local food to make different flavors. Today, China eats the most instant noodles in the world, followed by Indonesia. Though instant noodles are popular, some people say they are not healthy. They believe that instant noodles are high in salt and low in nutrition (营养) . So, businesses have started making noodles with less salt and more vegetables. Businesses are still making new flavors. They even make some noodles from plants. If they keep up with what people want, instant noodles will stay popular. 26. Why did Ando invent instant noodles? A. To start a new business. B. To compete with other food companies. C. To solve the problem of Japan having little food. 27. What is Paragraph 3 mainly about? A. The ways to cook instant noodles. B. The reasons for instant noodles’ popularity. C. The importance of the chicken soup flavor. 28. How did different countries improve instant noodles? A. By copying Japanese ramen. B. By inventing new cooking methods. C. By adding local food for different flavors. 29. What might businesses do about instant noodles in the future? A. Develop new healthier products. B. Stop using plants to make noodles. C. Use more salt to keep noodles fresh. 30. Where does the passage probably come from? A. A movie poster. B. A food culture article. C. A sport report. 【答案】26. C 27. B 28. C 29. A 30. While bad seafood might cause a stomachache, the trip itself can also upset your stomach. Your stomach is full of tiny helpers that work to digest (消化) your food. But when you travel, things change. Sitting for too long, changing time zones (时区), and not sleeping on time can all make your stomach feel uncomfortable. For one thing, sitting on a plane or in a car for hours can squeeze your stomach. This slows down how food moves, and your stomach may feel uncomfortable. Also, your body has a “daily clock” that helps it know when to eat, sleep, and even poop (排便)! But when you travel far, this clock gets mixed up. You might not go to the bathroom like you normally do. Sleep matters, too. If you don’t get enough sleep, your stomach can become upset. You may even feel like eating a lot of sweet snacks, which can make things worse. The good news? You can stop stomach troubles before they start! Try standing up and stretching (伸展) every hour on the plane or during long car rides. If you’re flying across time zones, begin changing your bedtime a few days early to help your body get used to the new time. And before your trip, be sure to sleep well every night. A rested body is a happy body, and that means a happy stomach, too. So remember: move, sleep, and plan early. That way, your trip can be full of fun, not bathroom runs! 31. According to Paragraph 2, what can upset your stomach when you travel? ①Changing time zones. ②Sitting for a long time. ③Drinking too little water. ④Sleeping at different times than usual. A. ①②③ B. ①②④ C. ②③④ 32. What does the underlined word “squeeze” in Paragraph 3 mean in Chinese? A. 放松 B. 挤压 C. 清洗 33. If someone sleeps poorly before a trip, what might happen? A. They may want to eat sweet snacks. B. Their ability to digest food may improve. C. Their body temperature might rise a little. 34. What is Paragraph 4 mainly about? A. The best foods to eat while traveling. B. Different kinds of stomach problems. C. Ways to help your stomach feel better when traveling. 35. What is the writer’s purpose in writing this passage? A. To show how digestion works. B. To warn people not to travel too often. C. To explain stomach problems during trips and give advice. 【答案】31. B 32. B 33. A 34. C 35. C 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文,主要介绍了旅行中胃部不适的常见原因,并给出了针对性的预防建议,帮助读者拥有舒适愉快的旅程。 【31题详解】 第二段“Sitting for too long, changing time zones…, and not sleeping on time can all make your stomach feel uncomfortable.”可知,久坐(②)、改变时区(①)和不按时睡觉(④)都会导致胃部不适,文中未提及喝水少(③)。 【32题详解】 第三段“sitting on a plane or in a car for hours can squeeze your stomach”及语境可知,长时间坐着会“挤压”胃部,导致食物移动变慢。 【33题详解】 第三段“If you don’t get enough sleep…You may even feel like eating a lot of sweet snacks”可知,睡眠不足可能让人想吃甜食。 【34题详解】 第四段提到了伸展身体、提前调整就寝时间、旅前睡好觉等建议,旨在说明如何预防及缓解旅行中的胃部不适。 【35题详解】 通读全文可知,文章先分析了旅行中胃部不适的原因(第二段、第三段),随后给出了预防建议(第四段),目的是解释问题并提供建议。 四、口语交际(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分) A: What’s that in your pencil box, Amy? Let me fix it.” Soon, both of our boys came to me—with matching buzz cuts (寸头)! A minute later, my husband showed up ... with a buzz cut too! Our holiday cards turned out great—with a little less hair, and a lot more love. 21. Why did the family need white shirts? A. For a school event. B. For a holiday party. C. To take family photos. 22. An Unforgettable and Warm Holiday Memory C Instant noodles (方便面) are enjoyed by people all over the world. D No one wants to go on a fun trip but end up spending the whole time running to the bathroom! 四、口语交际(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分) A: What’s that in your pencil box, Amy?
