Ernest hemingway was one of the most important writers . of the twenty eighth century. He revolutionized the idea what an american author was, and he was a bigger celebrity in his day age. Then we could probably concede. Ve, now he was the lady gaga of his era. Ernest Miller hemingway was born in a park elano y on july twenty first eighteen ninety nine. As a Young man, hemingway worked on his school in newspaper, and then on graduation, instead of going to college, he went directly to work on newspapers in kansas city. That background in journalism had a lot to do with his later literary style. Ernest hemingway is writing style was significant because he was so brief and seemingly straight forward whether other writers were writing very long sentences. Timing way came in and stamped on them with these short little sentences like army boots. During world war one, hemingway served as an ambuLance driver and then moved to paris, where he wrote his first novel, the sun also rises in one thousand nine twenty six. Paris was this amazing confluence of literary talent. Or you had hemingway, James joyce, eve Scott, fit Gerald gtd. Stein, T. S. L. A. And hinged immediately impressed all of them, especially fit jill, who brought hinges manuscript. The sun also rises to his publisher, child scriber. If I had been for fish jail, having way might not be a household name. Now having ways one thousand nine and twenty nine second novel, a farewell to arms, was based on his world war one experiences and was a big success. Personal life, however, was often stormy. Having way had this pathological thing where as soon as he married one woman, he fell in love with another one, usually a much Younger one. And this happened over and over the timing. Way was married four times with his first wife. hardly. They had her son, john, with his second wife, pollin. He had two sons, Patrick and gregory. He was then married to the journalist mark del horn, and then finally to marry welsh. Hemingway continue to live up to his reputation as a fearless physical writer as he served as a newspaper work correspondent during the spanish civil war and world war two in one thousand . nine hundred and fifty one, earnest hemingway won the pilot prize for . the old man in the sea. Hemingway was further honored three years later with a nobel prize . in literature in earnest hemingways. Later life, he fought depression, anxiety, probably mental illness. Hemingway suffered from alcoholism, suffered from an ongoing battle with inner deepens. In his life. he started to take an intense mental toll. He would have beer and gene for breakfast, and after, while he was no longer a functional alcoholic, his ability to write was gone. And he felt that that was his essence as a human being. That was his point . for being on earth, united I mainly, he found that all the virtues that he most valued, sales control and productivity, had come to an end. He was Better to go out and simply to follow . her on earth. Timing died on july second. nineteen sixty one. Coming ways greatest work may have been his life, the life that he lived. He took being a writer from being someone who just SAT in a room to someone who not just gobble up life but need to show of IT.
The old man and the sea in a small fishing village there lived an old Fisherman named santiago. He hadn't caught a fish for eighty four days yet. He remained determined on the eighty five day. He says, far out to see alone. After a long wait, he hooked a huge marland. The marlin was so powerful that he pulled his boat far into the ocean. Santiago fought with all his might. He endured hunger, thirst and exhaustion for two days and tonights. He held onto the fishing line, his hands cut and bleeding. Finally, he managed to kill the marlin and tied IT to his boat, but the blood of the marlin attracted sharks one by one. The sharks attack the vote, trying to eat the marland. Chicago fought back with whatever he could find like an or. However, when he reached ed the shore, only the skeleton of the marlin was left. Even though he didn't bring back a whole marlin, santiago was still a hero. His courage and persever in the face of difficulties inspired everyone in the village. He proved that a man could be destroyed but not defeated.
Section b activity three, a reader students book, report and label the different parts with the information below. My favourite book is the old man in the sea. IT was written in one thousand nine hundred and fifty two by the american writer ernie's hemingway. The book became popular very quickly. In one nine hundred and fifty three, IT won the bullets surprise. The main character is a Fishermen who hasn't caught anything for months. One day he catches a huge fish, but he has to fight for days to kill IT. He finally succeeds, but he can't pull the fish onto his boat. When the Fishermen is on his way back, sharks eats the fish, leaving nothing but bones. This book has taught me not to give apple or doubt myself. I'm inspired by how hard the Fisherman fights, even though he loses the fish in the end. As hemingway said, man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed, but not defeated. Even though i've already read the book three times, i'm not tired of IT yet. If you've never read on his timing way, I recommend this book.
There is nothing like getting lost in a good book, whether your preferences, historical fiction, ripping autobiography, exciting romance, outrageous size I or whatever your heart desires. Plenty of reasons why reading is good for the mind, hearts and the soul. It's a wonderful way to relax, to sharpen in your mind, to deeping your connections and to even improve your physical health. Why is reading so good for you? Well, IT may seem like a simple activity on the surface, but the active reading activites various parts of your brain and is ultimately a form of intellectual exercise, plus the physical active, pausing, sitting in repose, and then focusing on one text in front of you is practically meditated. Meaning is great for your body and your soul too. Just a few minutes of reading per day can have a huge impact on your overall well being.
世界名著中最经典的句子,一生至少。要读一次。Made for defeat, a man can be destroyed, but not defeated. IT was the best of times. IT was the worst of times. IT was the age of wisdom. IT was the age of foolishness. IT was the spring of hope. IT was the winter of the spare. Tomorrow i'll think . of some way to get him back. After all, tomorrow is another day for you, a thousand times over. You never really know a man until you standing his shoes and walk around me. Then I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person. Then only that day dance to which we are awake. There is more day to dance. The sun is but a morning star. IT is our choice, Harry. That shows what we truly are far more than our abilities. Shall I compare the to a summers s day? There aren't more lovely and more temperate. Rough winds do shake the darling buds of may and summer. These have all too short a date.

Of all the books I've read, Journey to the West is my favorite. It was written by Wu Cheng'en in 16th-century China and is one of China's Four Great Classical Novels. People love it for its exciting adventures and deep wisdom.
The story is about a monk named Tang Sanzang and his three disciples—Monkey King, Pigsy, and Sandy. First, Monkey King joins the group after he fights against Heaven. Then, they face 81 trials and fight many demons, like the White Bone Demon. The climax happens when they finally reach the West and get the holy books.
After reading this book, I was deeply moved by their determinaton. It has taught me that teamwork and faith can help us overcome any difficulty. I strongly recommend this book to everyone because it is a timeless classic full of joy and life lessons.

Of all the books I’ve read, The Three-Body Problem is my favourite. It was written by Chinese writer Liu Cixin in 2008. It is a famous science fiction novel and won the Hugo Award in 2015.
The story is set in modern China and the future. The main character is Wang Miao, a scientist. He finds an alien civilisation called Trisolarans, who want to invade Earth. The most exciting part is when humans fight to protect their home from the advanced aliens.
This book has taught me to think big and never give up. I’m inspired by humans’ courage to face huge challenges. As Liu Cixin shows, hope is the most powerful thing. I’ve read it twice and still love it. I strongly recommend this book to all science fiction lovers. Don’t miss it!

When it comes to history books, Red Star Over China is my top choice. It was written by American journalist Edgar Snow in 1937. Snow visited China’s revolutionary areas and wrote the real story of the Chinese Red Army.
The story is set in the 1930s. The book focuses on the Red Army soldiers and their leaders, like Mao Zedong. They lived a simple life and fought bravely for Chinese people. The most moving part is how they kept hope even in hard times.
This book has taught me the meaning of courage and sacrifice. I was deeply moved by the revolutionaries’ spirit. It helps me understand China’s history better. I’ve read it many times and never get tired. I strongly recommend this book to everyone. It will teach you the power of perseverance.
