The next morning, John went directly to his mother after waking up. He said, “Mom, I heard about Mrs. Brown’s difficulty. I want to lend her the money I’ve saved for the gaming device. Her daughter’s education is more important.” His mother was touched by his generosity and praised him for his selflessness. Later, John explained his decision to Mrs. Brown. With the help of John and his family, Mrs. Brown managed to gather enough funds for her daughter’s school fees. The neighbors’ gratitude and smiles made John realize that helping others brings more joy than any material possession could. Three months passed and finally it was John’s birthday. To his surprise, his parents and Mrs. Brown gathered to celebrate. Mrs. Brown presented John with a brand-new gaming device as a thank-you gift, saying, “Your kindness deserves a reward.” John was overjoyed, not just because he received the device, but because he understood the true meaning of giving. From then on, he continued to save, but this time, he also helped others whenever he could, knowing that small acts of kindness could make a big difference. Excuse me, how should I fill in this blank? B (2024-2025学年高一下·江苏扬州·期末)Mike White wasn’t too concerned when his five-year-old dog, BuzzMan, hadn’t returned last February. Si, it had been a few hours, so using his cell phone, White followed the sound from the GPS on the dog to a narrow cave entrance just large enough for a dog like BuzzMan. There were fresh dog prints outside. Now White was much more concerned. Brewington and Mirza were called in for help. They arrived at once and set about enlarging the entranceway by hand. The passageway was just three feet high, forcing the two men to slowly crawl(爬行), the only light coming from headlamps attached to their helmets(头盔). They stopped when they hit a tight space and returned to the outside world. When BuzzMan hadn’t appeared by Sunday afternoon, smaller volunteers were called in. At 5:00 p.m., four new cavers, two men and two women, moved through the entrance. What added to their difficulty was the dangerous cave floods. “If it rains,” Mirza says, “the cave will kill people.” That night’s weather forecast: rain. After an hour or so, they reached a difficult situation and could go no farther. Still, one of them, Romanak, decided to push a bit farther before quitting. He crawled 30 feet more, and the passage gave way to a large room. And there was BuzzMan, standing on a narrow rock. Romanak gently attached a chain to his collar, helping him off the rock and out. At 9:30 p.m.—30 hours later, BuzzMan got out of the cave, running straight to Mike White and licking him by wet kisses. In total, eight cavers answered the request to rescue Buzz Man on a volunteer basis and were thought highly of by the community. Mirza laughed off the praise. After all, going into tight spaces was their hobby. “What we consider fun,” he said, “often makes most people frightened.” 24. Why did Mike White feel much more concerned? A. He had difficult in following the dog’s GPS. B. His dog might be stuck in a dangerous situation. C. The cave entrance was large enough for his dog. D. The rescuers failed to arrive at the scene in time. 25. What increased the difficulty for the cavers? A. The dark light of the headlamp. B. The shortage of the manpower. C. The coming floods of the cave. D. The length of the passageway. 26. What can we know from the article? A. The size of the passageway was suitable for the cavers. B. White and Buzz Man were very attached to each other. C. It was Mirza who helped Buzz Man off the rock and out. D. Eight cavers participating in the rescue were well paid. 27. What message does Mirza express in the last paragraph? A. Many hands make light work. B. Actions speak louder than words. C. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. D. One man’s meat is another man’s poison. C (2024-2025学年高一下·江苏南通·期末)Elon Musk has offered a prize of $100m for the best carbon capture (碳捕捉) proposal. It can save his committee a lot of time. The money should go to Peter Wohlleben, whose book The Hidden Life ofTrees was an encouraging bestseller of 2015. Wohlleben’s idea is this: do nothing about trees. Stop toying with them, thinking that we can deal with climate change better than nature. If we don’t, our Rome will burn. The Hidden Life of Trees argued that trees are social. It shows that they can be our rescuer. But it’s terribly hard to let ourselves be saved. We think we can be the authors of our own rescue. Of course, there are things we could and should be doing, but in terms of forestry practice, often what’s considered as part of the solution is part of the problem. Anyone who has planted a tree in their garden knows that it has a far-reaching effect — it makes your garden cooler in summer and warmer in winter. Forests cool by transpiring (蒸发). If there’s no water, there’s no cooling. Drought can kill trees fast, but trees have many ways of dealing with it, and Wohlleben sets them out. As a species, we have survived many climatic changes by changing our behavior — and that’s how trees survive, too. Trees learn from their past harms and produce younger ones programmed with those lessons. They change the rate at which they feed themselves with sugar solution through root networks. Forests can take in greenhouse gases effectively as long as they live. Cut them down and burn them and you’ re letting off carbon dioxide not just from the wood, but also from the forest floor. Broadleaf trees are not “harvest-ready” at 200 years: they are teenagers. We must interrogate comforting expressions such as “renewable energy”, and learn the real cost of our toilet paper. If we don’t learn to do nothing about trees, they will eventually be alone anyway — but without us Wohlleben brilliantly and readably shows us how urgent and how hard it is to do nothing. 28. What’s suggested in the book? A. Using renewable energy. B. Leaving trees alone. C. Dealing with climate change. D. Changing forestry species. 29. What might happen if we keep toying with trees? A. We will be our own rescuer. B. We will be alone without trees. C. Our world will be destroyed. D. The capital city of Italy will burn. 30. How do trees survive drought? A. They stop absorbing water. B. They lose all their leaves. C. They get help from humans. D. They slow down their growth. 31. What does the underlined word “interrogate” in paragraph 4 probably mean? A. Try. B. Explain. C. Question. D. Appreciate. D (2024-2025学年高一下·江苏南京·期末)In times of intense stress, people sometimes let it out with a scream and a new study suggests that plants might do the same. Researchers at Tel Aviv University in Israel has found that plants let out ultrasonic(超声的) screams when damaged or stressed by drought. The noises, falling within a range of 20 to 100 kilohertz, are too high-frequency for humans to hear, but other plants and some animals perceive them. Insects might be listening for sounds from stressed plants to assess their condition before laying eggs on their leaves. A moth(蛾) may decide against laying eggs on a plant that sounds water-stressed. Researchers attached recording devices directly to plants to listen for secret sounds inside their stems(茎). In drought, air bubbles formed, burst and caused vibrations(振动) within the tissue that normally carries water up the plants’ stems. The process was picked up by the attached recording devices, but researchers wanted to know if any plant sounds could travel through the air. So the team placed microphones 10 centimetres from stressed-out tomato and tobacco plants. They subjected one set of crops to drought and another to physical damage. A third group was untouched. The microphones did pick up distinct sounds. On average, drought-stressed tomato plants let out about 35 ultrasonic screams per hour, while those with cut stems made about 25. Drought-stressed tobacco plants let out about 11 screams per hour, and cut crops made about 15 sounds in the same time. The average number of sounds from untouched plants fell below one per hour. The researchers also attempted to identify each plant group just based on its screams. Using a type of artificial intelligence calculations, the team picked out distinct features in each set of sounds and successfully sorted their plants into three kinds: “dry, cut or untouched.” If it is not too costly to set up the recording in a field situation, farmers might be able to hear these stress signals too. In future, enabling farmers to listen for water-stressed plants could “open a new direction”, which will be increasingly important as climate change exposes more areas to drought. 32. The moth is mentioned in paragraph 2 to show __________. A. moths need enough water when laying eggs B. some animals are able to hear plants scream C. some insects are picky about their surroundings D. wildlife species depend on each other when stressed 33. What can we learn from the research? A. Plants’ sounds couldn’t be detected by humans. B. Plants can be grouped according to their features. C. Plants’ screams are related to stress types in a way. D. Air bubbles contribute to the lack of water in plants. 34. What does the last paragraph focus on? A. Supporting evidence for the research result. B. Potential application of the research findings. C. A further explanation of the research methods. D. A reasonable doubt about the research process. 35. What can be a suitable title for the text? A. Plants’ Vibrations: Way to React to Stress B. Stress Signals: Secret Newly Found in Plants C. Green Screams: Plants Make Noises When Stressed D. Ultrasonic Screams: Discovery Opens a New Chapter (2024-2025学年高一下·江苏苏州·期末)Rates of depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses have been increasing in teenagers for at least a decade. 36 . New data has confirmed that it could be a contributor. But how big a role it plays also appears to depend on how kids choose to use it. Over the past decades, the Internet has done some great things. It has brought people closer together. 37 And it can be an important place for people to find support and connection. No surprise, Generation Z is living online more than ever. But some teenagers can come across content that is harmful. For example, one 2022 survey found that nearly half of all teens have been cyberbullied(网络欺凌) online. 38 Am I pretty enough? Strong enough? Smart enough? Cool enough? One study of teenagers 13 to 17 years old found that almost half reported that time spent on social media made them feel worse about their bodies. Only about one in every seven said viewing social media made them feel better. In May 2023, the U. S. Surgeon General issued a warning about kids’ social-media use. 39 But there was plenty of evidence to warn kids that they should take care when using it. Whitlock, a research psychologist who has been studying Internet use by teenagers since the early 2000s, asks teens she works with to put together a “menu of practices” that promote good mental health. 40 She also suggests that if kids feel anxious, they should go back to that menu again and do something from their list-instead of looking for distractions(干扰) on their phone and social media. A. It has helped people form big communities worldwide. B. Two-thirds of teens have seen hateful content on social media. C. It should include things they enjoy, like reading or outdoor time. D. Social media is also where people are comparing themselves to others. E. In recent years, scientists have often flagged social media as one potential cause. F. It concluded there was still not enough evidence to say social media is safe for kids. G. She pointed out that it’s hard to study the impacts of social media on mental health. (2024-2025学年高一下·江苏镇江·期末)William Rankin, a U.S. pilot, is called “the man who rode the thunder”. John had been saving his pocket money for months, planning to buy a new gaming device. John’s parents had always stressed the importance of saving, teaching him that small amounts added up over time, so every month, John would set aside some of his pocket money. Of course, this was not enough and he was also relying on his birthday gift money, which would arrive in three months. “Just a little more, and I’ll have enough!” he thought, excited about owning the gaming device he had longed for soon. One afternoon, while doing his homework at home, John overheard(偶然听到) a conversation between his mother and their neighbor, Mrs. Brown. Mrs. Brown, who lived next door, was struggling to pay for her daughter’s school fees (学费) and asked John’s mother if she could lend her some money. “Can you lend me some money right now? I’ll pay it back in a couple of months. Things are really hard for me now,” she requested. John’s mother responded that she would help as much as she could and would reach out to other relatives to see if more money could be gathered. As John listened, he began to think, “I have some money saved up, but if I give it to Mrs. Brown, what about my gaming device then?” After all, he really wanted the gaming device. But then he remembered how Mrs. Brown often lent a helping hand — whether it was bringing over a hot meal when his parents were busy or looking after their house during vacations. How could he refuse to do something for her in return? That night, John lay in bed and had a heartfelt conversation with himself. Eventually, after much thought, John made up his mind. He decided that the education of Mrs. Brown’s daughter was more important than his own material desires. The next morning, John went directly to his mother after waking up. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Three months passed and finally it was John’s birthday. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第3页(共10页) 试题 第4页(共10页) 试题 第5页(共10页) 试题 第6页(共10页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025-2026学年高一下学期期末重组卷02 (江苏专用)(译林版) 英 语·全解全析 (满分150分,考试用时120分钟) 注意事项: 1. How much is the shirt? ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Three months passed and finally it was John’s birthday. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 5 /11 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025-2026学年高一下学期期末重组卷02 (江苏专用)(译林版) 英 语·全解全析 (满分150分,考试用时120分钟) 注意事项: 1. How much is the shirt? B 25. C 26. B 27. 根据第一段“Si, it had been a few hours, so using his cell phone, White followed the sound from the GPS on the dog to a narrow cave entrance just large enough for a dog like BuzzMan. There were fresh dog prints outside. Now White was much more concerned.(是的,已经过去几个小时了,所以怀特用他的手机,跟着狗身上的GPS发出的声音,找到了一个狭窄的洞穴入口,这个入口对BuzzMan这样的狗来说刚刚够大。外面有新的狗的脚印。现在怀特更担心了)”可推知,BuzzMan进入了一个狭窄的洞穴,陷入危险的境地,导致怀特更担心了。故选B项。 25. 细节理解题。根据第三段“What added to their difficulty was the dangerous cave floods. “If it rains,” Mirza says, “the cave will kill people.” That night’s weather forecast: rain.(使他们更加困难的是危险的洞穴洪水。“如果下雨,”米尔扎说,“洞穴会杀死人。”那天晚上的天气预报说:有雨)”可知,山洞里即将到来的洪水增加了洞穴探险者的难度。故选C项。 26. 推理判断题。根据倒数第二段“At 9:30 p.m.—30 hours later, BuzzMan got out of the cave, running straight to Mike White and licking him by wet kisses.(晚上9点半,也就是30个小时后,BuzzMan从山洞里出来,径直跑向Mike White,用湿吻舔他)”可推知,White和Buzz Man彼此非常依恋。故选B项。 27. 根据最后一段“In total, eight cavers answered the request to rescue Buzz Man on a volunteer basis and were thought highly of by the community. Mirza laughed off the praise. After all, going into tight spaces was their hobby. “What we consider fun,” he said, “often makes most people frightened.”(总共有8名洞穴探险者在志愿者的基础上回应了营救巴斯人的请求,并得到了社区的高度评价。米尔扎对这种赞扬一笑置之。毕竟,进入狭小空间是他们的爱好。“我们认为有趣的东西,”他说,“往往会让大多数人感到害怕。”)”可知,米尔扎在最后一段表达其他人害怕的东西对他们来说确有趣,也就是“One man’s meat is another man’s poison.(一个人的美食可能是另一个人的毒药)”。故选D项。 C (2024-2025学年高一下·江苏南通·期末)Elon Musk has offered a prize of $100m for the best carbon capture (碳捕捉) proposal. A. Try. B. Explain. C. Question. D. Appreciate. B 29. C 30. D 31. 根据第一段“Wohlleben’s idea is this: do nothing about trees. Stop toying with them, thinking that we can deal with climate change better than nature. If we don’t, our Rome will burn.(沃尔勒本的观点是这样的:对于树木,我们无需采取任何行动。不要去干预它们,不要妄想我们能比大自然更好地应对气候变化。如果我们不这样做,我们的罗马将会被焚毁)”可知,书中建议让树木自然生长,不要去干预它们,故选B。 29. 细节理解题。根据第一段“If we don’t, our Rome will burn.(如果我们不这样做, 我们的罗马会被焚毁)”以及最后一段“If we don’t learn to do nothing about trees, they will eventually be alone anyway — but without us Wohlleben brilliantly and readably shows us how urgent and how hard it is to do nothing.(如果我们不学会对树木采取“什么都不做”的态度,那么树木最终还是会孤立无援——但沃勒莱本却以精彩且通俗易懂的方式向我们展示了,不去做任何事情是多么紧迫,又是多么艰难)”可知,如果我们一直摆弄树木,不尊重自然规律,最终世界会遭到破坏,人类也将面临灾难。故选C。 30. 根据第三段“Trees learn from their past harms and produce younger ones programmed with those lessons. They change the rate at which they feed themselves with sugar solution through root networks.(树木会从过去的伤害中吸取教训,并培育出具有这些教训的“后代”。它们还会通过根系网络调整自身摄取糖液的速度)”可推断,在干旱时,树木通过改变自身的生长方式,比如减缓吸收营养的速度,也就是减缓生长来应对,故选D。 31. 词句猜测题。根据划线词上文“Cut them down and burn them and you’ re letting off carbon dioxide not just from the wood, but also from the forest floor. Broadleaf trees are not “harvest-ready” at 200 years: they are teenagers.(将它们砍倒并焚烧掉,这样不仅会释放出木材中的二氧化碳,还会释放出森林地面的二氧化碳。阔叶树在 200 年后才具备“可采伐”状态:它们还只是“青少年”阶段)”以及“renewable energy (可再生能源)”可知,这种说法并不像表面看起来那么简单,我们需要重新审视、质疑它的真正含义。C 选项“Question (质疑)”符合文意。故选C。 D (2024-2025学年高一下·江苏南京·期末)In times of intense stress, people sometimes let it out with a scream and a new study suggests that plants might do the same. Ultrasonic Screams: Discovery Opens a New Chapter 【答案】32. B 33. C 34. B 35. 根据文章第二段“Insects might be listening for sounds from stressed plants to assess their condition before laying eggs on their leaves. A moth may decide against laying eggs on a plant that sounds water-stressed.(昆虫在叶子上产卵之前,可能会倾听有压力的植物的声音,以评估它们的状况。蛾可能会决定不在听起来有水分胁迫的植物上产卵)”可知,第二段提到了飞蛾,以表明一些动物能够听到植物的尖叫。故选B项。 33. 推理判断题。根据文章第五段“The microphones did pick up distinct sounds. On average, drought-stressed tomato plants let out about 35 ultrasonic screams per hour, while those with cut stems made about 25. Drought-stressed tobacco plants let out about 11 screams per hour, and cut crops made about 15 sounds in the same time. The average number of sounds from untouched plants fell below one per hour.(麦克风确实能听到不同的声音。平均而言,干旱胁迫下的番茄植株每小时发出约35声超声波尖叫,而那些切茎的番茄植株则发出约25声。干旱胁迫下的烟草植株每小时发出约11声尖叫,同时被割的作物发出约15声声音。未受影响的植物发出的平均声音数降至每小时一次以下)”可知,同种植物压力类型不同,尖叫次数不同。由此推知,植物的尖叫在某种程度上与压力类型有关。故选C项。 34. 推理判断题。根据文章最后一段“In future, enabling farmers to listen for water-stressed plants could “open a new direction”, which will be increasingly important as climate change exposes more areas to drought.(未来,让农民能够倾听缺水植物的声音可能会“开辟一个新的方向”,随着气候变化使更多地区面临干旱,这一点将变得越来越重要)”可知,这一新的发现可以让农民能够听到缺水植物的声音,农民就可以快速判断植物当前处于缺水的状况。 结合全文及文章第一段“Researchers at Tel Aviv University in Israel has found that plants let out ultrasonic screams when damaged or stressed by drought.(以色列特拉维夫大学的研究人员发现,当植物受到干旱的破坏或压力时,会发出超声波尖叫)”可知,文章主要是关于植物在受到缺水或者被砍断时的压力时,它们会发出声音。 (2024-2025学年高一下·江苏苏州·期末)Rates of depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses have been increasing in teenagers for at least a decade. 36. E 37. A 38. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Three months passed and finally it was John’s birthday. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【参考范文】 The next morning, John went directly to his mother after waking up. Brown。 词汇激活 行为类 ① 想要做某事:want to do sth/would like to do sth② 解释:explain/account for③ 成功做某事:manage to do sth/be succeeded in doing sth 情绪类 ① 令某人惊讶的是:to one’s surprise/to one’s amazement② 欣喜若狂:be overjoyed/be wild with joy 【点睛】 【高分句型1】He said, “Mom, I heard about Mrs. Brown’s difficulty, so I want to lend her the money I’ve saved.”(由so连接因果关系的并列句以及省略that引导的定语从句) 【高分句型2】John was overjoyed, not just because he received the device, but because he understood the true meaning of giving.(由not just...but also...
