Frida Kahlo remains one of the most iconic and influential artists of the 20th century — not merely for her paintings, but for the extraordinary life she lived. With her traditional Mexican dresses, and a resolute gaze that meets viewers, she created art that was deeply personal yet universally resonant (产生共鸣的). “My painting contains in it the message of pain,” she once said.
Kahlo’s childhood was marked by adversity. At six, she was infected with polio, which caused her right leg a slight limp. Yet the young Frida was spirited and unbowed. Her life transformed at 18 when a bus accident left her seriously injured: her spine was broken in three places, her pelvis crushed, and her right leg shattered in eleven places. She would later remark with characteristic dark humor that the accident “took my virginity (贞洁)”. During months in bed, her mother placed a mirror above her and gave her paints. “I paint myself because I am often alone and because I am the subject I know best,” she explained. Painting became both a lifeline and a means of documenting her reality.
Frida Kahlo produced around 200 paintings, most of them self-portraits. Though some called her a Surrealist, Kahlo fiercely rejected the label. “I never painted dreams. I painted my own reality,” she insisted. Her work mixed Mexican folk art with raw honesty about her suffering. In The Broken Column (1944), she showed herself with a cracked spine held together by nails. Even her medical corsets (束身衣) that limited her body became canvases — she painted butterflies on them. André Breton, the leader of the Surrealist movement, described her work as “a ribbon around a bomb’’.
Kahlo transformed suffering into art and personal tragedy into universal statements about the human condition. More than six decades after her death, she continues to attract audiences because she remains utterly herself.
24.What makes Frida Kahlo an influential figure?
A.Her personal paintings. B.Her art and life story.
C.Her traditional dresses. D.Her pain and struggle.
25.Why did Kahlo reject the Surrealist label?
A.Because her art was based on her real life.
B.Because she preferred to be called a folk artist.
C.Because she claimed to be a painter of dreams.
D.Because her work was too universal for the label.
26.What does Andre Breton imply by describing Kahlo’s work as “a ribbon around a bomb” in paragraph 3?
A.Kahlo’s art shows more pain than beauty. B.Kahlo’s art turns bombs into ribbons.
C.Kahlo’s art combines beauty with suffering. D.Kahlo’s art features ribbons and bombs.
27.Which of the following best describes Kahlo?
A.Tough and creative. B.Humorous and easy-going.
C.Dynamic and generous. D.Optimistic and self-centered.
C
From taking quick shots for social media with a smartphone to patiently waiting for the perfect street moment with a film camera, photography has become part of everyday life. However, there is a common misunderstanding that mobile photography, compared to film photography, reduces creation to a shallow form of photographic note-taking rather than true art. This belief misses a core fact: these two media represent different ways of seeing and creating.
Psychology research offers insights into this. Professor Robert Epstein from Harvard University’s Visual Cognition Lab notes, “When we take photos with a phone, our brain is in a ‘rapid capture’ mode; whereas with a film camera, it enters a ‘deliberate composition’ state.” Functional MRI (核磁共振成像) studies have shown that when using a smartphone, areas of the brain linked to quick decision-making are more active. In contrast, when using a film camera, the networks related to sense of beauty and precise hand control show stronger connectivity.
Photography educator David Yorke explains: “With a film camera, you must think through everything before taking the picture — composition, exposure, timing. This forces you to slow down and truly learn to ‘see’.” However, it does not mean that mobile photography cannot produce true art. An experiment in a journal of visual research found that mobile users take an average of 15 times more photos per day than film users. This frequent practice enhances their ability to capture fleeting (转瞬即逝的) moments. Documentary photographer Marina Chen shares this view: “Smartphones have made photography accessible to everyone. Sometimes, the energy in these moments is more valuable than carefully arranged shots.”
A truly mature photographer understands that artistic vision requires both: the quick response to the present and the discipline to compose with care. Mobile photography and film photography do not replace each other. Together, they enrich our visual expression and expand our capacity to see the world with clarity and imagination.
28.What does the author think of the common misunderstanding of mobile photography?
A.It overlooks the unique value of mobile photography.
B.It overestimates the artistic value of film photography.
C.It is supported by reliable evidence.
D.It is widely approved by professional photographers.
29.What can be inferred from the fMRI studies in Paragraph 2?
A.Film photography improves brain health better.
B.Mobile photography needs less brain activity.
C.Different cameras activate different brain networks.
D.Professionals prefer film cameras in practice.
30.Why does Marina Chen value smartphones in photography?
A.They replace professional equipment completely.
B.They help catch the energy of short, lively moments.
C.They take higher-quality pictures than film cameras.
D.They make photographers work more effectively.
31.What is the best title for the text?
A.Film Photography: The Art of Patience.
B.Mobile Photography: The Future of Art.
C.Skills Used in Different Types of Photography.
D.Mobile and Film Photography: Different Ways to Create.
D
Cities are often hotter than surrounding areas, a phenomenon known as the heat island effect. Recently, scientists have discovered a similar phenomenon related to rainfall which is called the “urban (城市) rainfall effect”. It means that cities tend to receive more rain than nearby rural (农村) areas. “This is everywhere,” said Dev Niyogi, a professor at the University of Texas at Austin. This difference in rainfall has also grown over the last twenty years as the climate continues to warm.
This effect influences all cities, especially dense and rapidly growing ones, many of which already struggle with flooding. Cities can attract rain for several reasons. First, large buildings slow down incoming storms, allowing them to release rain. In addition, the heat from buildings and roads creates warm, moist air that rises, cools, and then falls as rain. “All these factors may contribute to the urban rainfall anomaly (异常现象),” said Xinxin Sui, a graduate student involved in the research. In the United States, cities such as Houston, Miami, and New Orleans are among the most affected and have experienced severe flooding in the past.
For their study, the scientists used satellite data to examine rainfall in over 1,000 cities from 2001 to 2020. They found that nearly two-thirds of these cities receive more rain than nearby rural areas. This effect has almost doubled in the past two decades, partly due to urban expansion and rising temperatures. Warmer air can hold more moisture, making rainfall heavier. The researchers also found that the bigger a city’s population is, the larger the gap in rainfall amounts between urban and rural areas.
Niyogi suggests that city planners should take these findings seriously and prepare for the increased rainfall to prevent flooding. At the same time, cities have an opportunity to better manage water resources by redirecting extra rainwater underground to refill groundwater supplies for future use. “We should think more about how we want to manage our water resources,” he said, as “there is an opportunity here.”
32.What do we know about the urban rainfall effect?
A.It only happens in a few large cities.
B.It has remained unchanged in recent years.
C.It means cities receive more rain than nearby areas.
D.It causes cities to become cooler than nearby areas.
33.Why did the author mention Houston, Miami, and New Orleans in paragraph 2?
A.To compare their rainfall with other cities.
B.To explain how these cities prevent flooding.
C.To show that these cities are the largest in the US.
D.To give examples of cities influenced by increased rainfall.
34.What is the main idea of paragraph 3?
A.The causes of temperature rise in cities.
B.The research findings on urban rainfall.
C.The differences between small and large cities.
D.The ways the scientists collected research data.
35.What can be inferred from the last paragraph?
A.City planners are ignoring the problem of flooding.
B.Increasing rainfall can be turned into something useful.
C.Groundwater supplies are already enough in most cities.
D.Cities will no longer face groundwater shortages in the future.
第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
(社会热点)阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
In recent years, MBTI has become one of the most talked-about personality tests online, with millions of people sharing their 16-type results on social media. 36 But behind the fun, there are important things to understand about what MBTI really is — and what it isn’t.
First, it’s key to remember that MBTI is not a rigid label. Many people assume that an “I” (introverted) person is always shy and quiet, while an “E” (extroverted) person is always the life of the party. 37 For example, an introvert can be outgoing and talkative when they’re with close friends, and an extrovert may need quiet time to recharge after a busy day.
This ability to adjust your behavior in different situations is called “masking” by psychologists. 38 People often do this to fit in with a group, avoid conflict, or meet others’ expectations, even if it means hiding their true preferences.
Another common mistake is taking MBTI results too seriously. For example, I once judged my friend for being too organized, saying she couldn’t be a “P”(perceiving) type, only to realize that personality is far more complex than four letters. 39
At the end of the day, MBTI can be a fun tool for self-reflection and a great icebreaker when meeting new people. 40 It’s a starting point, not a final answer, and it should never be used to limit yourself or others.
A.It refers to hiding your true personality to adapt to specific social situations.
B.It’s easy to use these results to label yourself and the people around you.
C.However, this is a huge misunderstanding of how personality works.
D.MBTI is a scientifically proven tool that can predict a person’s future success.
E.We can’t box people into categories based on a simple test.
F.But it should never be used to define who you are or make assumptions about others.
G.Many introverts choose to stay silent in public to avoid being judged by others.

The people of the Makah Nation have lived on Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula for thousands of years. Before the white settlers arrived in the American Northwest, the Makah hunted gray and humpback whales from canoes made from the western red cedar tree. Whales 42 meat, blubber (鲸脂), and bone for food, oil, and utensils. The Makah enjoyed a lively trade in whale products with other Native Americans and later with an intensity and efficiency that quickly 43 the numbers of these creatures. The Makah relationship to the whales, on the other hand, was as much 44 as material. Whales and whaling were 45 in their songs and dances. Images of whales were 46 into blankets and baskets and carved in stone and wood. By the 1920s, with local whales on the brink (边缘) of 47 , the Makah stopped hunting them altogether.
Through 48 preservation measures, whales returned to the waters off the Olympic Peninsula soon. In the 1970s, archeologists discovered many objects that confirmed the long and significant relationship between the Makah and whales. This awareness 49 a cultural resurgence (复兴) that included a focus on traditional foods and the health problems that some people linked to changes in the Makah diet, especially the 50 of sea mammal meat from it.
Eventually, the Makah decided to resume hunting whales. 51 their plans faced strong opposition from different groups, they cited an 1885 treaty (条约) signed with the US government that 52 the right to continue this practice. After years of planning, the Makah scheduled the first hunt for the late fall of 1998. They succeeded in bringing in a gray whale about six months later. Today the Makah hunt whales in the 53 way.
Divers enter the water and tie the killed whale’s jaws shut to prevent the animal from sinking. The whales are finally towed to shore and cut into pieces 54 traditional rituals (仪式). The blubber and meat is distributed among Makah families. No part of the whale can be sold 55 , although artifacts that Makah carvers make from bones are often available for purchase.

The original French musical hit Cyrano de Bergerac, one of the most moving love stories ever created, first came to China on May 14 in Shanghai, 56 (impress)audiences with lively, new changes and special new songs for the Chinese tour.
The musical is derived from the classic five-act poetic drama of the same name, 57 (write) in the 19th century by French poet and playwright Edmond Rostand. People call it " 58 best 19th-century French drama." This famous work 59 (win) the hearts of audiences for many years with its lasting beautiful language and strong feelings.
As a musical, the people 60 made it kept the romantic essence of the original while giving it a new meaning with modern ideas. It makes old characters like Cyrano, Roxane and Christian more easy to like for today’s audiences.
The touring musical 61 (use)a new way of telling the story. It does not keep the story in the 1600s. This new form cleverly moves it to a more modern, artistic world. Cyrano is now a talented but shy songwriter who works 62 the scenes; Roxane is a young woman who wants to be a ballet dancer. Cyrano hides his love for Roxane not because of his big nose, 63 because they are almost 30 years apart in age.
Stephane Brunello, one of the musical's songwriters, says that creating the music was 64 (true)challenging as they explored ways to blend the original story with poetic French words and richer musical elements such as jazz, pop, rock, and more."You will be 65 (emotion), surprised, amazed, and moved by this musical," says Brunello.

The day had finally arrived. For weeks, my team — Maya, Jake, and I — had dreamed of this moment: the annual Market Day, when the school gym would transform into a lively fair of student-run businesses.
The past month had been intense. We spent countless hours brainstorming ideas, before we finally focused on “FashionHut” with creative handicrafts. Maya loved herbs. She made candles that smelled like flowers with used jars. Jake, skilled with knots, decided to learn weaving friendship bracelets (手链) from online courses. I later contributed painted wooden keychains.
Together, we calculated costs, detailed market strategies, and planned pricing carefully, all of which came down to a ten-page business plan. And the most stressful moment was when we presented our plan to the review committee. Eventually, they approved our $300 startup loan. We jumped for joy in the hallway.
We produced over eighty items with reasonable prices: candles at 6, bracelets at 4, keychains at $3. So we needed to sell that many items to repay the loan.
“Everything’s perfect,” Maya declared. Watching students flood into the gym, I believed her.
But an hour passed. Then another. Our table remained painfully quiet while noises erupted around us. A booth (摊位) named “Game On” had a line of students waiting to play balloon-shooting. Next to them, “Magic Bakery” had sold out of cookies. Students walked past our “FashionHut” with barely a glance.
“Maybe our prices are too high,” Jake whispered. “But if we lower prices now, we won’t make enough.” I disagreed.
The $300 loan hung over us like a storm cloud. We had signed an agreement to repay the full amount. By the two-hour bell, we had sold exactly two candles and one bracelet. We had two hundred and eighty-four dollars to go.
Normally, I avoided talking to strangers. In class, I never raised my hand. But now thinking of the loan, weeks of work, and my friends’ disappointed faces, I wouldn’t want our business to go up in smoke.

第四部分 写作(共两节, 满分40分)
第一节(满分15分)
66. During the May Day holiday, our school held a special waste-to-treasure art show.
Students took everyday waste such as plastic bottles, old cardboard, and used newspapers to create creative works, which demonstrated their environmental awareness and artistic talent. With imagination and hands-on skills, ordinary rubbish turned into lovely paintings, delicate handicrafts and beautiful models.
The exhibition turned useless rubbish into stunning treasures, which left a deep impression on all the visitors. It greatly inspired students’ awareness of environmental protection. Meanwhile, it conveys the idea of low-carbon life and also teaches us to value resources and discover beauty from ordinary life.
第二节(满分25分)
I took a deep breath and stepped out from behind our table. My hands were shaking, but I forced a smile and walked towards a group of students chatting nearby. “Excuse me,” I said softly, my voice barely audible at first. “We have hand-made candles with flower scent, friendship bracelets and painted keychains — all made by us.” To my surprise, one girl stopped and picked up a candle, her eyes lighting up. “This smells amazing! My mom will love it,” she said, buying two at once. Encouraged, I kept talking to other students, introducing our products’ features and the stories behind them.
Maya and Jake soon joined me, and our booth gradually became crowded. We laughed as we explained how Maya collected herbs for the candles, how Jake practiced weaving bracelets late at night, and how I painted each keychain with different patterns. By the end of Market Day, we had sold almost all our items. Holding the money in our hands, we hugged tightly. Not only did we repay the $300 loan, but we also made a small profit. I looked at my friends, proud of how far we’d come — and proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone.

M: The flavours are much more pure. Also, when we buy our tea, we buy it directly from the growers. This allows us to get to know more about the growing process and the people who produce our tea.
W: How do your prices compare to those of other companies?
M: We’re a small company that focuses on selling small amounts of high quality tea. I guess what I’m trying to say is that there are good reasons why our prices might be a little higher.
W: Well, why not tell us a bit about the teas you have at the moment?

根据第一段中“It means that cities tend to receive more rain than nearby rural (农村) areas.(这意味着城市往往比附近的农村地区接收更多降雨。)”可知,城市降雨效应意味着城市接收的降雨比附近地区多。
33.推理判断题。根据第二段中“This effect influences all cities, especially dense and rapidly growing ones, many of which already struggle with flooding.(这种效应影响所有城市,尤其是人口密集和快速增长的城市,其中许多已经在与洪水作斗争。)”以及“In the United States, cities such as Houston, Miami, and New Orleans are among the most affected and have experienced severe flooding in the past.(在美国,休斯顿、迈阿密和新奥尔良等城市是受影响最严重的城市之一,过去曾经历过严重的洪水。)”可知,作者提到休斯顿、迈阿密和新奥尔良是为了举例说明受降雨增加影响的城市。
34.主旨大意题。根据第三段“For their study, the scientists used satellite data to examine rainfall in over 1,000 cities from 2001 to 2020. They found that nearly two-thirds of these cities receive more rain than nearby rural areas. This effect has almost doubled in the past two decades, partly due to urban expansion and rising temperatures. Warmer air can hold more moisture, making rainfall heavier. The researchers also found that the bigger a city’s population is, the larger the gap in rainfall amounts between urban and rural areas.(在他们的研究中,科学家们使用卫星数据检查了2001年至2020年1000多个城市的降雨量。他们发现,近三分之二的城市降雨量比附近的农村地区多。在过去二十年里,这种效应几乎翻了一番,部分原因是城市扩张和气温上升。温暖的空气可以容纳更多水分,使降雨量更大。研究人员还发现,城市人口越多,城乡降雨量差距越大。)”可知,本段主要介绍了关于城市降雨的研究发现。
35.推理判断题。根据最后一段中“At the same time, cities have an opportunity to better manage water resources by redirecting extra rainwater underground to refill groundwater supplies for future use.(与此同时,城市有机会通过将多余的雨水引入地下,补充地下水供应,以备将来使用,从而更好地管理水资源。)”
【答案】36.B 37.C 38.A 39.E 40.F
【导语】本文主要介绍 MBTI 人格测试的实际意义,纠正大众对它的常见认知误区,并说明该测试仅可作为参考,不能用来限定人格。
【详解】36.由上文“In recent years, MBTI has become one of the most talked-about personality tests online, with millions of people sharing their 16-type results on social media.(近年来MBTI成为网络热门人格测试,无数人在社交平台分享测试结果)”和下文“But behind the fun, there are important things to understand about what MBTI really is — and what it isn’t.(但是趣味背后,我们需要认清MBTI的真实本质)”可知,前文讲述人们热衷分享测试结果,后文转折提出要正确认识这项测试。B选项“It’s easy to use these results to label yourself and the people around you.(人们很容易依据测试结果给自己和他人贴标签)”承接前文现象,引出下文理性看待测试的内容,起到过渡作用。
37.由上文“Many people assume that an “I” (introverted) person is always shy and quiet, while an “E” (extroverted) person is always the life of the party.(很多人认为内向者必定腼腆寡言,外向者必定活跃合群)”以及后文“For example, an introvert can be outgoing and talkative when they’re with close friends, and an extrovert may need quiet time to recharge after a busy day.(例如,内向的人在与亲密朋友相处时可能会变得外向且健谈,而外向的人在忙碌了一天后可能需要独处的时间来恢复精力)”举例两种人格也会出现相反表现可知,这种固有认知存在偏差。C选项“However, this is a huge misunderstanding of how personality works.(然而这是对人格特质的极大误解)”转折否定错误看法,衔接后文具体事例。
38.由上文“This ability to adjust your behavior in different situations is called “masking” by psychologists.(心理学家将这种根据场景调整言行的能力称作人格伪装)”可知,此处需要对这一专业概念作出解释。A选项“It refers to hiding your true personality to adapt to specific social situations.(它指隐藏真实性格来适应特定社交场景)”精准诠释概念含义,贴合语境。
39.根据上文“Another common mistake is taking MBTI results too seriously. For example, I once judged my friend for being too organized, saying she couldn’t be a “P”(perceiving) type, only to realize that personality is far more complex than four letters. (另一个常见的错误是过于严肃地对待MBTI结果。例如,我曾经因为朋友过于有条理而评判她,说她不可能是“P”(感知)型,后来才意识到人格远比四个字母复杂。)”可知,这里通过作者的个人经历说明,不能仅凭MBTI的四个字母就对人下定论,人格是复杂的。因此,本空需要一个句子,能总结这个例子带来的启示,或重申不能简单以MBTI类型框定人的观点。E选项“We can’t box people into categories based on a simple test. (我们不能根据一个简单的测试就把人框定在类别里。)”符合题意。该项通过“box people into categories (将人框定在类别里)”形象地概括了上述错误做法,并明确提出了“不能这样做”的观点,是对上文例子的完美总结和升华。
40.由上文“At the end of the day, MBTI can be a fun tool for self-reflection and a great icebreaker when meeting new people.(归根结底,MBTI可以助力自我审视,也能作为交友破冰的趣味方式。)”和下文“It’s a starting point, not a final answer, and it should never be used to limit yourself or others.(它只是参考起点,绝非定论,不能用来束缚自己与他人)”可知,前后语义转折,说明不可凭借测试定义人格。F选项“But it should never be used to define who you are or make assumptions about others.(但不能用它定义自身本性,也不能以此揣测他人)”承上启下,契合段落主旨。

A Waste-to-treasure Art Show
During the May Day holiday, our school held a special waste-to-treasure art show.

第二节(满分25分)
67.阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
注意:
(1)续写词数应为150个左右;
(2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
I took a deep breath and stepped out from behind our table.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】
I took a deep breath and stepped out from behind our table. My hands were shaking, but I forced a smile and walked towards a group of students chatting nearby. “Excuse me,” I said softly, my voice barely audible at first. “We have hand-made candles with flower scent, friendship bracelets and painted keychains — all made by us.” To my surprise, one girl stopped and picked up a candle, her eyes lighting up. “This smells amazing! My mom will love it,” she said, buying two at once. Encouraged, I kept talking to other students, introducing our products’ features and the stories behind them. (97词)

第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)(社会热点)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
