(主题: 假设你抽到了一张纸条,上面写着:“I find it hard to make friends. I'm afraid to talk to others, although I want to get to know them better.” 请根据此问题,写一段包含建议的文字。)
Dear friend,
I understand that you find it hard to make friends and you're afraid to talk to others. Don't worry. Here is some advice for you.
First, you can join a sports club or a hobby group. If you are afraid to start a conversation, you could focus on the activity first. For example, you can work together with a team on a project or play sports together. This is a great way to get to know people better without too much pressure.
Second, try to smile and be friendly when you meet new people. A simple "Hello" or a question about the schoolwork can be a good start. Remember, many people feel shy too, so don't be afraid to take the first step.
I hope my suggestions can help you. Good luck!
Yours,
Li Hua

During the last few years of his life, my dad lived just up the road from me in a tiny house. He had been alone for over 20 years after I lost my mom. His own mother had recently passed away too. He was disabled and retired so he spent a lot of time alone.
Several times a week, though, I would take a walk up to his house. We would sit in the living room, drink tea and talk. It wasn’t anything big. We talked about sports, cars, gardening, weather, and enjoyed a laugh over old memories. It wasn’t anything too deep. It was just a simple sharing, a connection between a father and a son. An hour spent just enjoying each other’s company. Those afternoons remain some of my happiest times spent with my dad. It allowed us to gently heal (治愈) any old wounds we had given each other when I was growing up. It allowed us to silently give each other time and love. It allowed us to grow closer together before he left this world.
I know that when my own time in this world is done, I will get to spend another afternoon with my dad. We will sit, talk, catch up and quietly enjoy each other’s company. We will share all the love we didn’t get to share. And we will remember that afternoon forever.
If there is one thing that I learned from those afternoons, it is this: It is never too late to spend time with those you love. It is never too late to tell them that you love them. It is never too late to heal a relationship and mend a hurting heart. Begin today! Spend an afternoon with those you love and those afternoons will become a lifetime.

When we talk about stress in our lives, we may think of bad situations and feelings. Negative stress is a problem which can be bad for our physical and mental health. However, not all stress is bad. There is also some positive stress.
In fact, there is a kind of stress known as positive stress which plays an important role in our happiness. It is the feeling you experience when you challenge yourself. It might make you feel a little uncomfortable, but it has to do with something you want to get. This kind of stress pushes you to perform at your best and fills you with a sense of hope and achievement.
You also feel positive stress when there’s a gap (差距) between what you have and what you want. And if you work hard, you can make it. In other words, what you want to realize (实现) is difficult but not impossible.
Knowing the difference between negative stress and positive stress can help build resilience (恢复力). If we see something as a threat, our worry will become greater. However, if we see it as a challenge, we can try to accept it. We need to tell ourselves to develop a positive mind. This will help us solve the problems in our lives. By doing so, we won’t worry about what bad results they may cause.
To create more positive stress in your life, try doing activities that push your limits (极限). Exercise is a great way. You can also challenge yourself by learning something new every day. It doesn’t matter if it’s big or small.

D.To describe different kinds of positive stress.

Anger is a kind of feeling. Many things can make you angry. When your teacher gives you too much homework, when your team loses an important game, when a friend borrows your favorite thing and then breaks it, you may get really angry.
Usually, your body will tell you when you are angry. Growing up is full of small troubles, and it’s easy for teenagers to get into bad moods. Some stay up late worrying about exams, some feel sad about fights with friends, and others just feel blue for no clear reason. 78 Here are some simple but useful ways to cheer yourself up.
When bad feelings come, don’t try to fight them at once. You can take a notebook and write down your thoughts. 79 Just let your feelings out freely on the paper. It helps you clear your mind and control your emotions better.
80 You can call a friend, chat with your parents, or even talk to your pet. When you share your worries, they won’t feel so heavy anymore. Many people will comfort you and give you warm advice.
Doing some light activities also works well. You can take a walk outside, listen to soft music, or play a relaxing game. 81 Fresh air and fun activities can take your mind off unhappy things.
Most importantly, learn to be easy on yourself. Everyone has bad days, and it’s normal to feel sad sometimes. 82 Believe that tomorrow will be better, and keep looking on the bright side.
A.It’s not necessary to hide your true feelings.
B.But do you know how to stay away from bad moods?
C.Shouting at others is always a good choice.
D.You don’t need to be perfect all the time.
E.Talking to others is also a great idea.
F.Worrying too much can make you feel even worse.
G.Spending quiet time relaxing really helps.
四、任务型阅读
阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
“I don’t like my parents. They always tell me that I should do this and should not do that. It sometimes makes me angry,” said Zhang Hua, a middle school student in Guangzhou. Do you have the same problem? Perhaps your parents had the same problem when they were young. Why aren’t some parents so friendly in their children’s eyes?
One of the most important reasons is that when someone becomes a parent, he/she often worries about things. Since you were born, your parents have worried about everything about you. They do a lot for you. Though something would make you angry, they care about you and worry about you. They worry about your choice of friends, the food you eat, your study at school, how much sleep you get and so on. All these things are part of your life, because they want you to grow up healthily and happily.
So how can you make things easier on yourself? It’s easier than you think. Just make sure your parents know what you’re doing. Get them to know your friends. Phone them if you get home later than usual. Say sorry to them when you make mistakes. Talk about your ideas with them and they may talk about theirs with you.
Most of all, try to think why your parents do this or do that. They are still practising being parents and need help that you can give them. When you become a parent, they may be able to help you learn how to get on with your children.
83.Why doesn’t Zhang Hua like his parents?
84.Why do parents always worry about what their children do?
85.What should children do when they make mistakes according to the writer?
86.How can you make things easier on yourself?
87.What can you learn from the passage?

How to Communicate with Our Parents
Communication with parents is very important in our life. As we grow older, we’ll find it not easy to communicate with our parents. So what should we do when communicating with them? Here are some of my ideas.
First, we should make a list of things our parents and we disagree about. This helps us understand the problems clearly. If we have disagreements, try not to get too angry! We need to calm down and think about their feelings. Second, learn how to really listen. Listening is better than talking sometimes. We should listen to what they say patiently. Third, talk with them more! We can share our school life and happiness with them. Spending more time together can bring us closer.
Hope you can have good communication with your parents.

Good luck!
Yours,
Li Hua

About 20 minutes later, when I was walking upstairs, I heard Kevin crying in his room. I knocked on the door and asked, “Kevin, do you want to talk with me?”
There was no answer. I tried again. Still, nothing happened. I took a piece of paper and wrote, “If you don’t want to talk, we can write notes to each other.” Then I slipped (悄悄塞) it under the door.
