During the years people change a lot. Five years is enough to compare yourself now and then. I think that I have changed a lot in the past five years.
Firstly, there are changes in my thoughts. Five years ago my thoughts were the same as a child’s. I believed that the world was a place without problems. I thought that I could always have time for games and friends wouldn’t change. Also I was sure that if I had any problem, my parents could always be around me offering help. Now I still believe that the world is a great place to live in, but sometimes there are different problems you have to face. And at times you have to deal with these problems alone without any help. And that is one of the changes that have happened to me in the past five years. Now I’m much more responsible (负责任的) and serious than five years ago.
Secondly, there are some changes in my interests. Now I spend less time with friends and I spend most of my time studying for exams. Five years ago, it wasn’t so. I believed that there was nothing more important than playing football or watching cartoon movies during those days.
Although I have changed in some ways, there are some similar ways between now and then. For example, I still like spending time with friends. And I am still sure that childhood is the best time in our life.

The teacher then said, “Now smell this soil.” The student smelled it and said with surprise, “This soil smells just like roses!” The teacher smiled and explained, “Do you know how this common soil came to smell so sweet?” The students were all lost in thought. Suddenly, a boy cried out excitedly, “I’ve got it It’s because petals (花瓣) from the rose flowers kept falling and mixing into the soil. Over time, the soil took in the pleasant smell of the roses. This is the power of being together.”
The teacher said with a smile, “You are exactly right. This is the power of being together. Just like this soil, which has taken on the smell of the roses it was near, people are also influenced by the people who they spend time with both good and bad. Since the beginning of this term, primary and junior high schools in Shenzhen have carried out a new measure (措施) to make sure that students have daily PE classes. Shenzhen is the first city in the country to require schools to provide daily PE classes for students at the compulsory education level.
Buxin Primary School in Luohu District uses a “3+1+1” model, which includes three regular PE classes, one music-based exercise class, and one sports game class. As a result of the new measure, the number of PE classes at the school has risen to 200.
The number of PE teachers isn’t enough for all the new classes, so the school has to ask teachers of other subjects to give some of the PE classes. Liu Xunhua, a Chinese teacher at the school, has taken on the role of a part-time PE teacher. “Everything is for the students’ health, and we support the new measure,” Liu said.
Yuan Yinuo, a sixth grader from the school, believes sports activities help reduce stress, especially considering the pressure graduating students are under. However, some parents are worried about the reduced learning time of other subjects though they agree on the importance of daily PE classes. A physics teacher who has been working in Shenzhen for over 20 years has the same worry. He made a comment (评论) online. “Adding daily PE classes is a good thing, but it’s hard for me to complete normal teaching tasks because some of my classes have been replaced by PE classes.”
In a reply, the city’s education authority said schools can independently decide the number of weekly class hours and the time of each class for each subject, and that schools can also reasonably arrange (安排) the courses of each subject.
12. How does the writer start the passage?
A. By telling a fact. B. By giving an example.
C. By listing some numbers. D. By expressing some opinions.
13. What does Paragraph 2 mainly talk about?
A. Why Buxin Primary School needs more PE teachers.
B. What schools at the compulsory education level are required to do.
C. What problems schools are facing as a result of the new measure.
D. How Buxin Primary School carries out the new measure.
14. Why does the writer mention the city’s education authority?
A. To offer the solution to the physics teacher’s problem.
B. To show the importance of the city’s education authority.
C. To describe the daily work of the city’s education authority.
D. To explain the differences between the present courses and the past courses.
15. What’s the main idea of the passage?
A. Chinese students will have hours of daily physical activity.
B. A school has carried out a new PE project for students.
C. Schools in Shenzhen offer more daily PE classes.
D. Students should exercise more to improve their health.

Every morning you get up, wash your face, brush your teeth, eat breakfast and get ready for your day. These daily actions are so common that you don’t think about them much. But what if you were in space? There is no gravity (地心引力) there, so weights are not as heavy as they are on the earth. When you drop something, it doesn’t fall to the floor. It floats (漂浮) slowly away in the air. This means that astronauts can’t just put down a tool. They need to tie it down. And how do astronauts drink? In space, water just breaks into small drops and hangs in the air.
Well, astronauts eat and drink differently in space. They have special plates so that their food doesn’t float away. They use special bags for drinks so that the drink stays inside. Sleep is also different in space. astronauts tie themselves to the wall so that they don’t float around when they are sleeping. Since they have to work hard, they need to get plenty of rest. The sun rises and sets so often that it can be confusing. The astronauts have alarms and sometimes music to wake them up.
Exercise is important for astronauts as well. Since there is no gravity and astronauts float instead of walking or running, their muscles (肌肉) become weak very quickly. They have to exercise on special machines every day so that this doesn’t happen. No one wants to become ill in space and exercise helps them stay healthy.
However, it is not all hard work in space. When they are not doing science experiments, writing reports or exercising, there is a little time for fun. They watch movies, read the news and call family members and friends. The astronauts on the International Space Station can even connect to the Internet.
In space, weights are not as heavy as they are on the earth because there isn’t _____41_____.
Astronauts use special plates to eat and drink _____42_____ that the food doesn’t float away.
To avoid ___43___ around when they are sleeping, astronauts have to tie themselves ___44___ the wall.

As students, we can do different kinds of sports after class. As for me, I think highly of jogging because it’s good for health. I often jog in the playground for half an hour. Another sport that I like is playing football. I often play it with my friends after school. It is very interesting.
There is no doubt that doing sports is helpful to us. We can not only build up our body and keep us healthy and strong. What’s more, when we feel stressed, we can do some sports to relax ourselves. The most important is that we can make friends when we do sports. I met my best friend when I once played football in the playground.
Let’s do more sports. In this way, we can be healthy and happy every day.
