On April 30, 2025. Shenzhou—19 safely returned to Earth, ending its 183—day space mission (任务). The three astronauts—Cai Xuzhe, Song Lingdong, and Wang Haoze—were in good c 1 as they left the return module (返回舱) at the Dongfeng Landing Site.
The mission began on October 30, 2024, when Shenzhou—19 was launched into space. During their time on China’s Space Station, the astronauts did 88 science experiments, including studies about h 2 human life works in space and tests on new material (材料). They also completed three spacewalks outside the station. One of these spacewalks l 3 9 hours, breaking China’s record (纪录) for the longest single spacewalk! Cai Xuzhe is now China’s m 4 experienced spacewalker. Song Lingdong, born in the 1990s, became the first astronaut of his generation to do a spacewalk.
During the spacewalks, the astronauts used a robot—like arm on the station’s main module (Tianhe) to install (安装) special shields (防护物) in order to p 5 the station from space waste.
