B(24-25学年高一下·浙江宁波·期末)
This year I am living abroad in Germany and trying to learn as much German as possible. But one thing I didn’t realize was how many new words I would face every day. I see and hear new words everywhere: the notices in the train station; menus in restaurants; the local newspaper and of course from my German-speaking friends. New words are all around you when you are in a foreign country.
At first, a lot of German words I didn’t understand gave me a headache. I kept on looking up new words, but by the end of the day I had forgotten most of them already. It upset me. A month later, I went to a shop and bought a small notebook. I set myself the goal of writing five new words a day into my little blue notebook. Since then, in my bag, I have always carried an important thing — my little blue word notebook.
I don’t have any rules about which words I write down. Most days I write down words that I learn from my partners at work, or words that I have read. I have also learned the names of many fruits and vegetables from looking at their labels in the supermarket — a very unexpected way of learning words. And I have learned many words that I have heard on TV or on the radio. If I hear a word that I even don’t know how to spell, I write down how I think it is and look it up later.
My little blue word notebook is now like my closest friend. We are like Batman and Robin; we go everywhere together. Setting the small daily goal has made me feel much more in control of my language learning and I am already seeing an improvement. I will continue to use it for the rest of my stay in Germany and also when I return to university at home in September.
24.What surprised the author when living in Germany?
A.The high cost of living in Germany.
B.The difficulty of learning German grammar.
C.The new German words she encountered daily.
D.The unfriendliness of local German speakers.
25.How does the author choose words for the notebook?
A.By asking friends to dictate words.
B.By noting down any unfamiliar words.
C.By copying restaurant menus entirely.
D.By selecting the hardest grammar rules.
26.Why did the writer compare her notebook to Batman and Robin?
A.To show the notebook is as famous as superheroes.
B.To express her deep love and dependence on the notebook.
C.To suggest she wants to be a superhero in language learning.
D.To prove that learning German is as exciting as superhero stories.
27.What is the best title for the passage?
A.How I Adapted to Life in Germany.
B.How I Mastered German Grammar.
C.How I Learned German with a Notebook.
D.How I Realized the Value of Languages.
C(24-25学年高一下·湖南长沙·期末)
Is forgiveness against our human nature? To answer our question, we need to ask a further question: What is the essence of our humanity? For the sake of simplicity, people consider two distinctly different views of humanity. The first view involves dominance and power. In an early paper on the psychology of forgiveness, Droll (1984) made the interesting claim that humans’ essential nature is more aggressive than forgiving allows. Those who forgive are against their basic nature, much to their harm. In his opinion, forgivers are compromising their well-being as they offer mercy to others, who might then take advantage of them.
The second view involves the theme of cooperation, mutual respect, and even love as the basis of who we are as humans. Researchers find that to fully grow as human beings, we need both to receive love from and offer love to others. Without love, our connections with a wide range of individuals in our lives can fall apart. Even common sense strongly suggests that the will to power over others does not make for harmonious interactions. For example, how well has slavery worked as a mode of social harmony?
From this second viewpoint of who we are as humans, forgiveness plays a key role in the biological and psychological integrity of both individuals and communities because one of the outcomes of forgiveness, shown through scientific studies, is the decreasing of hatred and the restoration of harmony. Forgiveness can break the cycle of anger. At least to the extent the people from whom you are estranged accept your love and forgiveness and are prepared to make the required adjustments. Forgiveness can heal relationships and reconnect people.
As an important note, when we take a classical philosophical perspective, that of Aristotle, we see the distinction between potentiality and actuality. We are not necessarily born with the capacity to forgive, but instead with the potential to learn about it and to grow in our ability to forgive. The actuality of forgiving, its actual appropriation in conflict situations, develops with practice.
28.What is Droll’s idea about forgiveness?
A.People who forgive can have their welfare affected.
B.Forgiveness depends on the nature of humanity.
C.People should offer mercy to other people.
D.Aggressive people should learn to forgive.
29.What does the example in Paragraph 2 illustrate?
A.To fight is to grow. B.To dominate is to harm.
C.To forgive is to love. D.To give is to receive.
30.What is the writer’s attitude toward forgiveness?
A.Objective. B.Reserved. C.Favorable. D.Doubtful.
31.What is message of the last paragraph?
A.Forgiveness is in our nature. B.It takes practice to forgive.
C.Actuality is based on potentiality. D.Forgiveness grows with time.

An experiment in central Mexico brings hope for the important winter habitat of millions of moving monarch butterflies (帝王蝶). When scientists planted hundreds of young oyamel firs (冷杉) about 100 kilometers from their native habitat, they weren’t sure how many trees would survive. Today, researchers report in Frontiers in Forests and Global Change that most are growing well. Even at 3,800 meters above sea level, high above where they usually grow, nearly 70% of the young trees have survived at least three years.
Every fall, monarch butterflies move from southern Canada to the mountains of central Mexico. They sleep through the winter only on the oyamel firs. Thousands might gather on a single branch. However, the forests and the butterflies are in peril. Monarch butterflies’ populations continue to drop, arid due to climate change, oyamel firs are expected to almost disappear by 2090.
“We need to move the forests to a higher location,” says Cuauhtémoc Sáenz-Romero, a forest geneticist in Mexico. Oyamel firs, growing between 2,400 and 3,500 meters, need cold mountain air to survive. The cold at higher places also slows the metabolism (新陈代谢) of butterflies, making them survive the long winter. As central Mexico gets warmer, new generations of oyamel firs will likely be moved higher.
Sáenz-Romero’s team collected oyamel fir seeds from 3,100 to 3,500 meters in the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve and grew them in a nursery (苗圃). They planted around 960 trees at four locations on the Nevado de Toluca volcano. Three years later, the higher location the trees were planted at, the smaller and shorter they were. However, many survived their first year, indicating long-term survival.
Turning the experiment into reality would face many challenges, including getting the community’s and government’s support. And even if the trees can survive, another question remains: Will the monarch butterflies find them? During the winter of 2023-2024, some large monarch groups didn’t sleep through the winter in the reserve.
32.What do we know about the experiment of planting oyamel fir trees?
A.It would help monarch butterflies fly farther.
B.It would benefit monarch butterflies’ habitat.
C.It focused on the monarch butterflies’ food.
D.It was carried out by Mexican locals every fall.
33.What does the underlined word “peril” in paragraph 2 mean?
A.Danger. B.Harmony. C.Balance. D.Safety.
34.What can we infer from the result of the tree-planting?
A.Trees at higher locations would exist longer.
B.The trees planted in low places grew slowly.
C.The trees planted could all survive in the long term.
D.Survival rates decreased sharply as temperature increased.
35.What message does the author want to express in the last paragraph?
A.More butterflies are supposed to be needed.
B.There are uncertainties about monarch butterflies.
C.Moving oyamel firs to higher places proves hopeless.
D.The government should provide more oyamel fir seeds.

How to add green tech to your home
Green tech involves combining technology and science to create environmentally friendly products. The idea is by using products and services in the home to reduce energy consumption, waste, or harmful effects on the environment, we can all help the planet. 36
Install smart light bulbs
One quick way to reduce energy use is to switch all your light bulbs to energy-efficient versions called smart bulbs and use a virtual assistant to control them. These bulbs tend to use about 7 to 9.5 watts of power yet provide the same amount of light a 60-watt ordinary bulb offers. 37 Just use your phone to shut them down.
38
Smart plugs are a great option, too, for controlling devices like televisions, coffee makers, or almost anything that plugs into a wall socket to work. Devices like these use energy just by being plugged in, so using your phone or virtual assistant to turn the plugs on or off as needed helps stop energy drain in its tracks.
Upcycle or recycle your old tech
Tech is everywhere in our homes, and when a device gets old, we tend to replace it with a newer, better, faster version. It’s okay to get the latest device, but why not reuse and repurpose the older ones? For example, you can upcycle your old computers and laptops by repurposing them into home security monitors. Got an old Android phone? 39
It’s not hard to start adding green tech to your home. 40 Once you start, you’ll quickly see how convenient green tech can be and how easy it is to start using it.
A.Add smart plugs everywhere
B.Forgot to turn off the lights?
C.Anyone can achieve it easily.
D.Upcycle it into a remote control for your TV.
E.Upcycle it instead of throwing it into the dust bin.
F.The real difficulty is in deciding to take that first small step today.
G.Below are several quick and easy ideas you can start using today.

One day a friend invited me to join gymnastics class that she had belonged to for many years. My mom got the needed information and within a few days I was ready to start!
When I got there, I was extremely nervous. The group wasn’t very welcoming so I was regretting signing up. It seemed they were comfortable with the team they had, and they didn’t want anyone to be added to it. But after working together for a few days, we all soon became friends. A month passed and I learned to do many things. I was excited and ready to learn back handsprings(手翻). Back handsprings are one of the main things you need to know for gymnastics because they are done so often. In my opinion, they are the hardest to do, but I was ready to try.
My friend was the queen of back handsprings, so she helped me understand each and every step. Our coach pulled out a handspring machine to help the kids who were learning how to do them for the first time. This machine is a block that has cushion(垫子) all around it. You basically sit in the mouth of the machine and push off with your feet and go backwards until you land on your hands, then feet.
Even with the handspring machine, I couldn’t get my feet right, so I had to try again and again. Impatient, some of the girls seemed to get angry. I was feeling like the new kid in the group again. The new kid that didn’t know what she was doing but everyone else knew it!

67.Paragraph 1
Luckily, my friend, the queen of back handsprings, kept encouraging me. She said, “It’s OK. You’ll get it. It just needs constant practice.” She reminded me that she also found it difficult in the beginning and it took her a while to get it right. Her words helped me to keep going. And so, with her help and my own determination, I kept trying again and again. I practised every day after school, and even on weekends, if I had time, I would try to practise what my friend had shown me.
Paragraph 2
One day, I finally got it right. I remember feeling a sense of achievement and joy. And then, just like that, my confidence started to grow. I started to feel like I belonged there, and that I was part of something special. I began to find the new kid and the dissatisfaction of some of the girls in the group were gone, and that I was now the confident girl who knew what she was doing. I realized that success doesn’t come easily, but with hard work and determination, anything is possible.

根据第一段中“But one thing I didn’t realize was how many new words I would face every day. (但我没有意识到的一件事是,我每天会遇到多少新单词)”可知,作者在德国生活时,每天都会遇到很多新的德语单词,这让她感到惊讶。故选C。
25.细节理解题。根据第三段中“I don’t have any rules about which words I write down. Most days I write down words that I learn from my partners at work, or words that I have read. (我没有规定要写哪些单词。大多数时候,我会写下从工作伙伴那里学到的单词,或者读到的单词)”可知,作者没有特定的规则来选择要记在笔记本上的单词,而是记下任何不熟悉的单词。故选B。
26.推理判断题。根据第四段中“My little blue word notebook is now like my closest friend. We are like Batman and Robin; we go everywhere together. (我的蓝色小单词笔记本现在就像我最亲密的朋友。我们就像蝙蝠侠和罗宾;我们走到哪里都在一起)”可知,作者将笔记本比作蝙蝠侠和罗宾,以此表达她对笔记本的深厚感情和依赖。故选B。
27.主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是第二段中“At first, a lot of German words I didn’t understand gave me a headache. (起初,大量我不懂的德语单词让我头疼不已。我不断地查阅新单词,可到了一天结束时,大部分单词我已经忘得差不多了。这让我很沮丧。一个月后,我去了一家商店,买了一本小笔记本。我给自己定下目标,每天在小蓝本上记五个新单词。从那以后,我的包里总是装着一件重要的东西——我的蓝色小单词笔记本)”和第四段中“Setting the small daily goal has made me feel much more in control of my language learning and I am already seeing an improvement. (设定这个小目标让我感觉更能掌控自己的语言学习,而且我已经看到了进步)”可知,文章主要讲述了作者在德国学习德语时,通过每天记录五个新单词的方法来提高自己的语言能力。因此,选项C“How I Learned German with a Notebook (我是如何用笔记本学习德语的)”最能概括文章的主旨,可以作为最佳标题。故选C。
【答案】28.A 29.B 30.C 31.B
根据第一段的后两句“Those who forgive are against their basic nature, much to their harm. (那些选择原谅的人违背了自己的本性,这对他们极为有害。在他看来,原谅者在向他人施以仁慈时,是在牺牲自己的幸福,而这些人可能随后就会利用他们)”可知,Droll认为原谅别人的人会损害自己的利益,因为他们向可能会利用他们的人表示仁慈,会影响自己的幸福。故选A项。
根据第二段的后两句 “Even common sense strongly suggests that the will to power over others does not make for harmonious interactions. For example, how well has slavery worked as a mode of social harmony? (即使常识也强烈表明,对他人的权力欲并不能带来和谐的互动。例如,奴隶制作为一种社会和谐模式效果如何呢?)”可推知,这里以奴隶制为例,说明想要支配他人的意愿不利于和谐的互动,奴隶制作为一种社会和谐的模式效果并不好,即支配他人会带来伤害。故选B项。
30.推理判断题。根据第三段的第一句“From this second viewpoint of who we are as humans, forgiveness plays a key role in the biological and psychological integrity of both individuals and communities because one of the outcomes of forgiveness, shown through scientific studies, is the decreasing of hatred and the restoration of harmony. (从我们作为人类是谁的第二个视角来看,宽恕在个人和社区的生理及心理完整性方面起着关键作用,因为科学研究表明,宽恕的结果之一是仇恨的减少与和谐的恢复)”和第二句“Forgiveness can break the cycle of anger. (宽恕可以打破愤怒的循环)”以及最后一句“Forgiveness can heal relationships and reconnect people. (宽恕可以修复关系,让人与人重新建立联系)”可知,作者认为原谅在个人和社区的生理和心理完整性方面起着关键作用,能减少仇恨、恢复和谐、打破愤怒的循环、修复关系、重新连接人与人。由此推知,作者对原谅持支持的态度。故选C项。
31.细节理解题。根据最后一段的后两句“We are not necessarily born with the capacity to forgive, but instead with the potential to learn about it and to grow in our ability to forgive. The actuality of forgiving, its actual appropriation in conflict situations, develops with practice. (我们并非生来就具备宽恕的能力,而是拥有学习宽恕并提升宽恕能力的潜力。宽恕的实际行动,即在冲突情境中真正地宽恕他人,是通过实践培养出来的)”可知,我们不是生来就有原谅的能力,它是需要通过实践来发展的。故选B项。
D(24-25学年高一下·湖南长沙·期末)
【答案】32.B 33.A 34.A 35.B
根据第一段中“An experiment in central Mexico brings hope for the important winter habitat of millions of moving monarch butterflies (帝王蝶). When scientists planted hundreds of young oyamel firs (冷杉) about 100 kilometers from their native habitat, they weren’t sure how many trees would survive. Today, researchers report in Frontiers in Forests and Global Change that most are growing well.(墨西哥中部的一项实验为数百万迁徙帝王蝶重要的冬季栖息地带来了希望。当科学家们在距离原生栖息地约100公里的地方种植了数百棵幼树时,他们不确定有多少棵树能存活下来。今天,研究人员在《森林与全球变化前沿》杂志上报告称,大多数都生长良好)”及第二段中“Every fall, monarch butterflies move from southern Canada to the mountains of central Mexico. They sleep through the winter only on the oyamel firs.(每年秋天,帝王蝶从加拿大南部迁徙到墨西哥中部的山脉。它们仅在冷杉上越冬)”可知,该实验直接针对帝王蝶栖息地的保护,所以该实验有助于改善帝王蝶的栖息地。故选B项。
33.词句猜测题。根据第二段中“However, the forests and the butterflies are in peril. Monarch butterflies’ populations continue to drop, arid due to climate change, oyamel firs are expected to almost disappear by 2090. (然而,森林和蝴蝶都处于……之中。帝王蝶的数量持续下降,由于气候变化,预计到2090年冷杉几乎会消失)”可知,帝王蝶的数量持续下降,冷杉也几乎会消失,所以森林和蝴蝶都面临着危险。故划线词peril的意思是“危险”,与A项“Danger”同义。故选A项。
根据第四段中“Three years later, the higher location the trees were planted at, the smaller and shorter they were. However, many survived their first year, indicating long term survival. (三年后,树木的种植海拔越高,其体型就越矮小。尽管如此,多数树木成功度过了第一年,这表明它们具备长期存活的潜力)”可知,从植树的结果中我们可以推断出,位置较高的树木生长较慢,但存活率显示其可能长期存活,说明高海拔地区树木可能存续更久。故选A项。
根据最后一段中“Turning the experiment into reality would face many challenges, including getting the community’s and government’s support. And even if the trees can survive, another question remains: Will the monarch butterflies find them?
【答案】36.G 37.B 38.A 39.D 40.F
36.根据前文“Green tech involves combining technology and science to create environmentally friendly products. The idea is by using products and services in the home to reduce energy consumption, waste, or harmful effects on the environment, we can all help the planet.(绿色科技是指将技术和科学相结合,创造出对环境友好的产品。这个想法是通过在家里使用产品和服务来减少能源消耗、浪费或对环境的有害影响,我们都可以帮助地球)”可知,本文的主题是介绍绿色科技,以及在家里使用绿色科技来减少能源消耗、浪费或对环境的有害影响,所以G项“Below are several quick and easy ideas you can start using today.(下面是几个快速简单的方法,你可以从今天开始使用)”承接上文,进一步提出本文主题,引出下文。故选G项。
37.根据前文“These bulbs tend to use about 7 to 9.5 watts of power yet provide the same amount of light a 60-watt ordinary bulb offers.(这些灯泡往往使用7到9.5瓦的功率,却能提供与60瓦普通灯泡相同的亮度)”以及后文“Just use your phone to shut them down.(用手机关掉他们就行了)”可知,前文内容和后文无法连接,所以空处应是一个过渡句,引出下文,B项“Forgot to turn off the lights?(忘记关灯了?)”
38.分析设空,是本段小标题,应是对本段的高度概括,根据下文“Smart plugs are a great option, too, for controlling devices like televisions, coffee makers, or almost anything that plugs into a wall socket to work. Devices like these use energy just by being plugged in, so using your phone or virtual assistant to turn the plugs on or off as needed helps stop energy drain in its tracks.(智能插头也是一个很好的选择,可以用来控制电视、咖啡机或几乎任何可以插在墙上插座上工作的设备。像这样的设备只要插上电源就会消耗能量,所以使用你的手机或虚拟助手根据需要打开或关闭插头有助于阻止能量的消耗)”可知,本段主要讲述在家里使用智能插头,所以A项“Add smart plugs everywhere(到处添加智能插头)”符合本段主题,为本段小标题。故选A项。
39.根据前文“For example, you can upcycle your old computers and laptops by repurposing them into home security monitors. Got an old Android phone?(例如,你可以升级你的旧电脑和笔记本电脑,把它们改造成家庭安全监视器。你有一部旧的安卓手机吗?)”可知,此处是针对本段主题在具体举例,所以空处应是说明把旧的安卓手机升级为“什么”,D项“Upcycle it into a remote control for your TV.(将其升级为电视遥控器)”符合实际。故选D项。
40.根据前文“It’s not hard to start adding green tech to your home.(开始在家里添加绿色科技并不难)”以及后文“Once you start, you’ll quickly see how convenient green tech can be and how easy it is to start using it.(一旦你开始使用,你很快就会发现绿色科技是多么方便,开始使用它是多么容易)”可知,F项“The real difficulty is in deciding to take that first small step today.(真正的困难在于今天决定迈出第一步)”承接上文,引出下文,符合文意。故选F项。

One possible version:
Luckily, my friend, the queen of back handsprings, kept encouraging me. She said, “It’s OK. You’ll get it. It just needs constant practice.” She reminded me that she also found it difficult in the beginning and it took her a while to get it right. Her words helped me to keep going. And so, with her help and my own determination, I kept trying again and again. I practised every day after school, and even on weekends, if I had time, I would try to practise what my friend had shown me.
