China’s Tiangong space station got some new protection. On March 16, 2026, two astronauts, Zhang Lu and Wu Fei, did a spacewalk that took 7 hours. They put up special panels (防护板) outside the station to keep it safe from space junk.
So, what is space junk? It is things that humans have left in space. Some space junk is big, like old satellites (人造卫星) that don’t work anymore. Some is tiny, like small pieces of rockets or even little chips of paint.
