When Paul was around 12, his father bought an old bus and converted it into a mobile home. Paul, his parents and his five siblings spent the next few years traveling. One summer, he and his family worked alongside Haitian migrant workers picking oranges, listening curiously as they chatted to one another in Creole. He said he was really taken aback by the situation and decided to open a different kind of clinic. Over the years, Dr. Farmer raised millions of dollars for an ever-expanding network of community health facilities. The clinic in Haiti, at first a single room, grew over the years to a network of 16 medical centers in the country, with a local staff of almost 7, 000. It just hurt him. I’m a social worker by training. One thing I learned is about keeping a professional distance. He was different. D.His work experience in the countryside. 25.Why did Dr. Farmer decide to open the clinic? A.To offer accessible medical care. B.To promote local social justice. C.To pursue his academic ambition. D.To introduce a new medical system in Haiti. 【答案】24.B 25.A 26.A 27.B 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。 根据第一段中“Paul, his parents and his five siblings spent the next few years traveling.(保罗、他的父母和五个兄弟姐妹在接下来的几年里四处旅行)”和第二段中“One summer, he and his family worked alongside Haitian migrant workers picking oranges, listening curiously as they chatted to one another in Creole. That was Paul’s first encounter with Haiti, the country that would appeal to him in his 20s and then direct him toward a career in public health. (一个夏天,他和家人与海地移民工人一起采摘橙子,好奇地听着他们用克里奥尔语互相交谈。那是保罗第一次接触海地,这个国家在他20多岁时吸引了他,并引导他走向公共卫生事业)”可知,法默博士对海地产生兴趣始于他童年时期与家人一起旅行时的一次经历。故选B项。 25.细节理解题。根据第三段中“He arrived when Haiti’s hospital system was so threadbare that patients had to pay for basic supplies, like medical gloves. He said he was really taken aback by the situation and decided to open a different kind of clinic. (他抵达时,海地的医院系统非常匮乏,病人不得不为医疗手套等基本用品付费。他说他对这种情况感到非常震惊,并决定开设一家与众不同的诊所)”可知,法默博士开设诊所是因为海地的医院系统非常匮乏,他想提供方便的医疗服务。故选A项。 26. 根据最后一段“Over the years, he kept in touch with many of his patients. “He had a very tender heart,” said Laurie Nuell, a close friend and board director at Partners in Health. “Seeing pain and suffering was very hard for him. It just hurt him. I’m a social worker by training. One thing I learned is about keeping a professional distance. He was different. That’s the beauty of it.”(多年来,他与许多病人保持着联系。“他有一颗非常温柔的心,”洛里·纽尔说,她是健康伙伴组织的密友兼董事会董事。“看到痛苦和苦难对他来说非常难受。这让他感到痛苦。我受过社会工作者的专业训练。我学到的一件事就是保持专业距离。他不一样。这就是其美好之处”)”可知,洛里·纽尔所说的“这就是其美好之处”指的是法默博士与其他专业人士不同,他与许多病人保持着联系,不刻意保持距离,他能够保持同情心。故选A项。 27. 通读全文,结合第一段中“Paul Edward Farmer Jr. was born on Oct. 26, 1959, in North Adams, Mass. (小保罗·爱德华·法默于1959年10月26日出生在马萨诸塞州北亚当斯)”、第三段中“After graduating from Duke University, he moved to Haiti, volunteering in Cange. C Climate change has made extreme weather events such as bush fires and floods more frequent and more likely in recent years. Will firsthand experience of these events change how people think and act about climate change, making it seem immediate and local rather than a distant or future problem? New research led by Viktoria Cologne at ETH Zurich in Switzerland may help to explain what’s going on. The study, published in Nature Climate Change, looked at the question of extreme weather and climate opinion using two global datasets (数据集). The Trust in Science and Science-related Populism (TISP) survey measures public support for climate policies and the extent that people think climate change is behind increases in extreme weather. The survey asked people how much they supported five specific actions to cut carbon emissions (排放). On average, support was fairly strong, with an average rating of 2.37 across the five policies. The study found most people around the world have experienced heatwaves and heavy rainfall in recent decades. Do people in countries with higher exposure to extreme weather events show greater support for climate policies? This study found they don’t. In most cases, living in a country where more people are exposed to disasters was not reflected in stronger support for climate action. Crucially, people who more strongly believed climate change had worsened these events were also more likely to support climate policies. In fact, this belief mattered more for policy support than whether they had actually experienced the events firsthand. This study highlights what may affect public thinking: helping people recognize the link between climate change and extreme weather events. In countries such as Australia, climate change makes up only about 1% of media coverage. What’s more, most of the coverage focuses on social or political aspects rather than scientific, ecological, or economic impacts. Many stories about disasters linked to climate change also fail to mention the link, or indeed mention climate change at all. Making these connections clearer may encourage stronger public support for climate action. 28.What does the research led by Viktoria Cologne mainly focus on? A.Two global datasets. B.People in disaster-affected areas. C.Public trust in science. D.Public support for climate policies. 29.The people who ______ are more likely to support climate policies. A.read social news regularly B.experience disasters first-hand C.have engaged in the survey D.know clearly of climate impacts 30.What can be done to help support climate policies according to the study? A.More financial support. B.More disaster-climate link reports. C.More attention to weather. D.More accurate weather forecasts. 31.What could be the best title for the passage? A.Experiencing Is Not Enough to Change Views B.Emergency Responses to Natural Disasters C.Extreme Weather Is Changing Our Lives D.Global Surveys on Climate Attitudes 【答案】28.D 29.D 30.B 31.A 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。 根据第二段“New research led by Viktoria Cologne at ETH Zurich in Switzerland may help to explain what’s going on. The study, published in Nature Climate Change, looked at the question of extreme weather and climate opinion using two global datasets (数据集).(瑞士苏黎世联邦理工学院的维多利亚·科隆领导的一项新研究可能有助于解释正在发生的事情。这项发表在《自然气候变化》上的研究利用两个全球数据集研究了极端天气和气候观点的问题)”以及第三段中“The Trust in Science and Science-related Populism (TISP) survey measures public support for climate policies and the extent that people think climate change is behind increases in extreme weather.(“信任科学与科学相关民粹主义”(TISP)调查衡量了公众对气候政策的支持程度,以及人们认为气候变化是极端天气增多原因的程度)”可知,该研究主要关注公众对气候政策的支持情况。故选D。 29. 根据第五段“Crucially, people who more strongly believed climate change had worsened these events were also more likely to support climate policies. In fact, this belief mattered more for policy support than whether they had actually experienced the events firsthand.(至关重要的是,那些更强烈地认为气候变化加剧了这些事件的人也更有可能支持气候政策。事实上,这种信念对政策支持的重要性超过了他们是否亲身经历过这些事件)”可知,清楚了解气候影响的人更有可能支持气候政策。故选D。 30.推理判断题。根据最后一段中“Many stories about disasters linked to climate change also fail to mention the link, or indeed mention climate change at all. Making these connections clearer may encourage stronger public support for climate action.(许多关于气候变化相关灾难的报道也没有提到这种联系,甚至根本没有提到气候变化。 A。 D For decades, cancer treatment has been dominated by chemotherapy (化疗) , a tool that attacks rapidly dividing cells — both cancerous and healthy ones. Patients undergoing chemotherapy often suffer severe side effects such as hair loss, and weakened immunity, making the treatment process as painful as the disease itself. However, the emergence of targeted drugs has started an era of precision medicine that treats cancer not with a “carpet bombing” but with a “precision strike.” Unlike chemotherapy, which harms healthy cells without discrimination, targeted drugs cause minimal damage to normal tissues. Most patients only experience mild side effects like diarrhea, allowing them to maintain a relatively normal quality of life during treatment. Many targeted drugs are also available in oral form, saving patients from frequent hospital visits for injections. Targeted drugs work like smart missiles equipped with advanced navigation systems. Each cancer cell carries unique molecular (分子的) features called “targets,” which are like the special locks on the cells. Researchers design targeted drugs to act as the matching keys, enabling them to attach specifically to these targets. A well-known drug, Trastuzumab, focuses on the HER2 protein overexpressed in some breast cancer cells, blocking their growth signals and enhancing the immune system’s ability to destroy cancer cells. Yet, targeted therapy still faces major difficulties: drug resistance and high costs. Cancer cells are highly adaptable. After months or years of treatment, they may mutate (突变) to escape the effects of targeted drugs. Some lung cancer patients treated with first-generation EGFR inhibitors (抑制剂) , for instance, develop the T790M mutation, making the drugs ineffective. Meanwhile, the long and costly development process of targeted drugs — from target discovery to clinical trials — leads to extremely high prices, putting them out of reach for many patients worldwide. The future of targeted drugs lies in constant innovation. Scientists are exploring combined therapies, such as pairing targeted drugs with immunotherapy, bringing new hope to countless cancer patients and moving humanity closer to defeating cancer. 32.What advantage do targeted drugs have over chemotherapy? A.They can completely cure cancer. B.They precisely attack cancer cells. C.They work faster than chemotherapy. D.They have no side effects on tissues. 33.Why does the author mention Trastuzumab in paragraph 3? A.To illustrate how targeted drugs work. B.To explain how cancer cells mutate and resist drugs. C.To compare targeted drugs with traditional chemotherapy. D.To show targeted drugs are only effective for breast cancer. 34.What can we infer about targeted therapy in paragraph 4? A.Targeted drugs will soon replace chemotherapy. B.High costs limit the use of targeted drugs globally. C.Drug resistance can be solved by T790M mutation. D.The T790M mutation makes cancer cells sensitive to drugs. 35.What is the author’s attitude towards the future of targeted drugs? A.Doubtful. B.Pessimistic. C.Optimistic. D.Unconcerned. 根据第二段“Unlike chemotherapy, which harms healthy cells without discrimination, targeted drugs cause minimal damage to normal tissues. (与化疗无差别地伤害健康细胞不同,靶向药物对正常组织的损伤极小)”以及第三段“Researchers design targeted drugs to act as the matching keys, enabling them to attach specifically to these targets. (研究人员设计靶向药物作为匹配的钥匙,使它们能够特异性地结合到这些靶点上)”可知,靶向药物能精准攻击癌细胞。故选B项。 33.推理判断题。根据第三段“Targeted drugs work like smart missiles equipped with advanced navigation systems. 故选A项。 34. 根据第四段“Meanwhile, the long and costly development process of targeted drugs — from target discovery to clinical trials — leads to extremely high prices, putting them out of reach for many patients worldwide. (同时,靶向药物从靶点发现到临床试验的漫长而昂贵的开发过程导致价格极高,使全球许多患者无法承受)”可推断,高昂的成本限制了靶向药物在全球的使用。故选B项。 35.推理判断题。根据最后一段“The future of targeted drugs lies in constant innovation. Scientists are exploring combined therapies, such as pairing targeted drugs with immunotherapy, bringing new hope to countless cancer patients and moving humanity closer to defeating cancer. (靶向药物的未来在于不断创新。科学家们正在探索联合疗法,例如将靶向药物与免疫疗法相结合,为无数癌症患者带来新的希望,使人类更接近战胜癌症)”可知,作者对靶向药物的未来持乐观态度。故选C项。 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Singapore has no natural freshwater resources and has been ranked among the most water-stressed countries in the world. 36 Thus, after gaining independence in 1965, Singapore realized that it had to take its water future into its own hands and developed a comprehensive water management plan. Singapore has developed four pillars (支柱) of water supply: imported water, desalinated (淡化的) water, local water storage and recycled water. To secure water supplies, it has entered into agreements with Malaysia, which supplies half of the total water needs. However, Singapore is projected to stop importing water by 2061. 37 Today, Singapore has five desalination plants, which provide 25% of the island nation’s total water supply. These plants function as water purification facilities. 38 It is no wonder they fit into the city’s contemporary landscape naturally. Singapore’s goal is to increase its desalination capacity to meet 30% of its water needs by 2060. 39 Rooftop water is channeled through pipes into a network of rivers, canals and reservoirs (水库). The Marina Barrage, covering 10,000 hm2, not only collects fresh water but also acts as a flood protection structure. Singapore also excels at treating wastewater. At a cost of up to $10 billion, the island nation has built a modern, centralized wastewater treatment system and efficiently reused wastewater. “All wastewater is collected, treated and reused as much as possible,” said Jon Church of UN Water. 40 The government plans to increase this recycling proportion to 55% by 2060, with the aim of improving the quality of life for its citizens. A.It was ruled by Britain for a long time. B.They were built right in downtown areas. C.Singapore is a master at collecting rainwater. D.They are also designed to be modern enough. E.It currently recycles 30% of its domestic water needs. F.Water has always played a crucial role in the nation’s growth. G.Therefore, it must necessarily focus on the remaining three “taps”. 36.根据上文“Singapore has no natural freshwater resources and has been ranked among the most water-stressed countries in the world. However, in its transformation 56 modern styles, the Shanghai-style qipao played a crucial role. As 57 (describe) in The History of Chinese Qipao Culture: “Modern qipao (in the narrow sense) are essentially Shanghai-style, as most associate ‘qipao’ with 1930s — 40s Shanghai designs.” In the 1920s, Shanghai female students started a fashion revolution in qipao, marking 58 break from traditional norms. The early Shanghai qipao was simple, loose, similar to Han men’s robes, 59 was inspired by male clothing and acted as a “battle robe” for women. “It was a call for sex 60 (equal), expressing hopes through appearance — a symbol of female independence,” a professor said. Later, the Shanghai qipao set 61 (it) apart with its mix of traditional Chinese 62 (element) and Western designs. Influenced by European fashion, its slim cut moved from loose robes, 63 (highlight) women’s curves. The richness and variety of Shanghai qipao made Shanghai “Oriental Paris” in the 1930s. The fashion quickly 64 (sweep) through the city and spread nationwide. Today, designers draw inspiration from this style 65 (create) new pieces blending tradition with modernity. 【答案】 56.into/to 57.described 58.a 59.which 60.equality 61.itself 62.elements 63.highlighting 64.swept 65.to create 【导语】这是一篇说明文。 故填into/to。 57.考查省略句结构。句意:正如《中国旗袍文化史》中所述:“现代旗袍(狭义上而言)本质上是上海风格的,因为大多数人将‘旗袍’与 20 世纪 30 至 40 年代的上海设计联系在一起。”分析可知,“As ______ (describe) in…”为状语从句“As it is_________(describe) in…”的省略形式,所填动词与逻辑主语之间为被动关系,用过去分词形式。故填described。 58.考查不定冠词。句意:在 20 世纪 20 年代,上海的女学生开始在旗袍的穿着上掀起一场变革,这标志着她们对传统规范的彻底突破。分析可知,空后的“break”为名词,意为“改变,突破”,可数名词,此处表示泛指,且break发音以辅音音素开头,需填不定冠词a,作其限定词。故填a。 59.考查非限制性定语从句引导词。句意:早期的上海旗袍款式简单、宽松,与汉族男子的长袍相似,其设计灵感源自男性服装,为女性提供了“战袍”的功能。分析可知,“______ was inspired by male clothing”为非限制性定语从句,先行词是前面的句子,在从句在作主语,用关系代词which引导从句。故填which。 60. 故填to create。 第四部分 写作(共两节, 满分40分) 第一节(满分15分) 66.假定你是李华,你校上周开展了以“珍爱生命”为主题的交通安全知识讲座。请你用英语写一篇关于该讲座的报道并发布到你校英文网站上,内容包括: (1)讲座的时间、地点和目的; (2)讲座的过程; (3)大家的感受。 注意: (1)写作词数应为80个左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 参考词汇:头盔helmet A Traffic Safety Lecture In Our School ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 A Traffic Safety Lecture In Our School To raise students’ awareness of traffic safety and cherish lives, our school held a traffic safety lecture in the school hall last Friday afternoon. At fifteen, his world existed in lines of code and digital landscapes. While other teenagers worried about parties and popularity, Leo spent his nights creating video games in his bedroom, where silence felt like a friend and the screen glowed with understanding. However, everything changed when his family moved to a new city. Leo found himself standing before Northwood High, a massive school where everyone seemed to have known each other for years. The hallways were filled with conversations and laughter that didn’t include him. He felt like a character who had been dropped into the wrong game level, without a map or instructions. During his first week, Leo tried to fit in. He smiled at classmates and tried to start conversations. But his words always came out awkward and stiff. His comments about video game programming were met with confused looks or polite nods. By the second week, he had given up. Every lunch period, he would find an empty table in the corner of the cafeteria and eat alone, watching groups of friends share jokes and stories. The loneliness grew heavier each day. Leo felt like a ghost moving through the crowded hallways — visible but unseen, present but not really there. The school became a maze (迷宫) of closed doors, and he didn’t have the key to any of them. The more he tried to connect, the more he felt like he was failing at some important test everyone else had already passed. So Leo did what felt safest — he retreated. After school each day, he would escape into his digital world. He told himself he didn’t need friends when he had his creations, but deep down, he knew this wasn’t true. 注意: (1)续写词数应为150个左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 A shift occurred when his computer science teacher noticed his coding skills. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ At the tech fair, Leo met a classmate struggling with his app. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 A shift occurred when his computer science teacher noticed his coding skills. The teacher, who had been impressed by Leo’s talent, invited him to participate in the upcoming tech fair, which was a big event at school. Leo was thrilled and accepted the invitation immediately. He spent all his free time preparing for the fair, refining his video game and making sure everything worked perfectly. He knew that this was his chance to shine and show everyone what he was capable of. At the tech fair, Leo met a classmate struggling with his app. “Can I help?” Leo asked quietly. The boy nodded, amazed by how quickly Leo solved the problem. He showed his gratitude by inviting Leo to join his group for lunch, which was something Leo had not experienced in a long time. As they talked, Leo found that they shared many interests, especially in technology. The classmate introduced Leo to his friends, and soon Leo was surrounded by a group of people who appreciated his skills and wanted to learn from him. Leo realized that making friends was not as hard as he had thought and that the key was to be himself and share his passions with others. 词汇激活 行为类 ①准备:prepare for/get ready for ②胜任:be capable of/be competent in ③解决:solve/tackle/deal with 情绪类 ①兴奋的:thrilled/excited ②吃惊的:amazed/surprised/astonished ③感激:gratitude/thankfulness 【点睛】【高分句型1】The teacher, who had been impressed by Leo’s talent, invited him to participate in the upcoming tech fair, which was a big event at school. B Paul Edward Farmer Jr. was born on Oct. 26, 1959, in North Adams, Mass. When Paul was around 12, his father bought an old bus and converted it into a mobile home. Paul, his parents and his five siblings spent the next few years traveling. One summer, he and his family worked alongside Haitian migrant workers picking oranges, listening curiously as they chatted to one another in Creole. That was Paul’s first encounter with Haiti, the country that would appeal to him in his 20s and then direct him toward a career in public health. After graduating from Duke University, he moved to Haiti, volunteering in Cange. He arrived when Haiti’s hospital system was so threadbare that patients had to pay for basic supplies, like medical gloves. Among them was a teaching hospital opened in 2013. There, poor patients with difficult diseases paid a basic fee of around $1.50 a day for treatment, including medication. Partners in Health he founded with the the other three also expanded into Rwanda, where Dr. Farmer helped the government restructure the country’s health system, improving health outcomes in areas. Dr. Farmer also helped develop new public health approaches in Peru, Russia and Lesotho, among other places. Over the years, he kept in touch with many of his patients. “He had a very tender heart,‌“ said Laurie Nuell, a close friend and board director at Partners in Health. ”Seeing pain and suffering was very hard for him. It just hurt him. I’m a social worker by training. One thing I learned is about keeping a professional distance. He was different. That’s the beauty of it.” 24.What drew Dr. Farmer’s interest in Haiti? A.His school life at university. B.His childhood traveling with his family. C.His curiosity about the Creole language. D.His work experience in the countryside. 25.Why did Dr. Farmer decide to open the clinic? A.To offer accessible medical care. B.To promote local social justice. C.To pursue his academic ambition. D.To expand his medical project globally. 26.What does Laurie Nuell mean by saying “That’s the beauty of it”? A.Dr. Farmer stayed sympathetic. B.Dr. Farmer was quite professional. C.Dr. Farmer was experienced in social work. D.Dr. Farmer showed devotion to public health. 27.What is the author’s main purpose in writing the text? A.To call for more help for the poor in Haiti. B.To praise a doctor for his lifelong devotion. C.To tell a story of a family’s unusual travels. D.To introduce a new medical system in Haiti. A.Experiencing Is Not Enough to Change Views B.Emergency Responses to Natural Disasters C.Extreme Weather Is Changing Our Lives D.Global Surveys on Climate Attitudes D For decades, cancer treatment has been dominated by chemotherapy (化疗) , a tool that attacks rapidly dividing cells — both cancerous and healthy ones. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Singapore has no natural freshwater resources and has been ranked among the most water-stressed countries in the world. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节 (共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 The sun sank behind the trees as the wildlife photographer held his camera tight, hoping to capture an image of a relatively rare bird, a particular kind of heron. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试卷第1页,共3页 试卷第1页,共3页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
